LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama‘s campaign has bought $5 million worth of advertising time from NBC Universal to run TV spots during the Olympic Games, a source familiar with the deal said on Wednesday.
The package, believed to be an unprecedented political media buy for the Olympics, includes commercials that will run on the NBC network and cable channels such as USA, MSNBC and CNBC during the August broadcast of the Summer Games, the source said.Both NBC and Obama’s campaign declined to comment.
That payoff was sure sweet, especially for the fellatio work on MSNBC. I wonder how much were the bonuses Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann got for getting on their knees without kneepads for 6 months?

My mother and I have decided to vote for McCain only because we live in a swing state that was disenfranchised and we want to see Obama lose. I hope Obama loses MI, FL, and OH. It’s over for Obama and the Cheatahs.
Oh, and someone doing voter research for the DNC just called my house. I told her that I was voting for McCain but that I would vote for Senator Levin (D). Well, Obama got the bump in the polls that they were looking for, it was not as much, as I thought he might get, but its going to put a little steel in the back of some of these super delegates. This was a campaign trip that cost the American payer Millions of $$$$$ and to see Jack Reed (who I like) and Chuck Hagel sitting there looking like “props” for a TV show, was almost disgraceful. The Rasmussen tracking poll and one other poll picked up some of the bump, but all is not well in OBamaland , McCain is ganing in four battleground sates and still leads in Ohio by six points. Florida just don’t sound right as they now have Obama leading by one point and when they credit him carrying Florida it gives the impression of a big lead in the electorial college numbers.Right now we need something positive to come out about Hillary Clinton. Just someting to the effect that her debt has been paid off would help charge up her supporters.
I am reminded that Obama outspent Hillary by 3 or 4 to 1 in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and still LOST to Hillary–proving that money doesn’t necessarily buy victory. Advertising on the Olympics will backfire, since the Olympics should be about the athletes, not Obama. He will generate even more Obama fatigue. Obama will soon realize that he can’t fool all of the people all of the time, and fewer some of the time. I agree with Jessie, that it’s time for Hillary’s voice to be heard: she is making important leadership statements about women’s issues, FISA. The PUMA websites should be talking up Hillary amidst the revelations about Obama.
