This makes a twisted sort of sense

Yeah, because if everyone is back at work, he won’t have to worry about a bailout package for workers with the size and details that the event requires. So, minimize the advice from the experts, put everyone back to work and, voilé! The Republican bailout package will make perfect sense.

(They seem maniacally determined to avoid a multiplier effect from the ground up. Why is that??)

The only problem with this strategy is that nature doesn’t GAF about the airline or hotel industry. It might be tempered by unemployment insurance and cash payments.

Whatever. Nature will have the last word on the situation.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Penny wise and pound foolish.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

  1. Trump’s priorities are obvious. And it is appalling that media and others give him any credit for anything human. All he cares about is winning the election and making money. Human life is not important to him. this is obvious, but people continue to avoid saying things like that, in their desperate wish to believe in the office.

If he gets people to go back to work, many more will die. The health care system will be overrun. Trump does not care, any more than the owners of coal mines in the 19th century who knowingly sent their workers in to die. Trump has zero interest in the health of Americans, what he wants is for the stock market to go up, billions of dollars more to be put in the pockets of his donors, and notably himself. The bill that will pass will be immensely favorable to corporations, with little oversight, but the Democrats will be forced to vote for it. The stock market will go up, billionaires love more money Then Trump will say that people must go back to work. Many people died building the pyramids,, or working on the railroads under horrible conditions, but the people who ordered them to did not care a bit,all they wanted was the money and the ostentation. Trump is the worst person in American history, bar none, and his destruction of the country continues. He does not have one decent human instinct in his body or soul. All he has to do is to beat someone who is not a very strong candidate, and he gets four more years to finish his destruction.

  2. I honestly believe that this week will be a turning point. It’s going to get real scary, really fast.

  3. Did i just hear Pence say Facebook donated 700k N95 masks from their emergency supplies? WTF? Why so many in reserve and why the delay? Even if he said 70K, that is a LOT of critical masks for healthcare providers.

  4. Off topic: “To Spring”.

In this classic cartoon from 1936, busy gnomes try to bring Spring to the world–but Old Man Winter isn’t ready to leave yet…
