    • Who Gets to Be Violent and Why?
The people who need to a good shit-kicking are most politicians, CEOs, and senior civilians. Well, and cops, obviously. And they need to know the cops can’t protect them from another one. The President, the mayor of New York, the Governor of New York, almost everyone who works for the Federal Reserve, all senior Wall […]

The most irresponsible and immoral thing a president has ever said out loud

It’s orders of magnitude worse than the Ukraine phone call. It’s hard to be shocked at what he does after the last three years but this is simply unconscionable. It’s evil. And I don’t use that word lightly. It explains so much, like why are tests so hard to get, why is the cost not being waived, why aren’t more social distancing measures being taken? What happened to all those cases in Coffeyville, Kansas??

Many of us have suspected that the numbers were being kept deliberately low but that only means that more at risk populations have been exposed and that kind of thing won’t stay secret for long. The JHU tracker is showing a sharp increase in new cases outside of China in the past week and India is showing fewer cases than Iceland.

We may not all die but our hospital system and healthcare workers are going to be overwhelmed and it will get ugly when all the people who need extended hospital stays end up breaking the system.

It’s hard to believe that Republicans refuse to put a stop to this. Maybe Bloomberg will buy Fox News and make it stop telling lies.

Something’s got to give. We can’t go on like this. He’s going to permanently ruin this country beyond all recall.

We could have had a V8

Good thing she wasn’t interviewed by Adam Davidson who would have asked her “Why do you have to harsh our mellow by being a know it all? Why are you all like ‘it’s not good for the little guy’? You know, nobody who makes money agrees with you.”

History will not be kind to Adam.

Welcome New Readers

Thank you for dropping in at our remote destination in the Oort Belt of the blogosystem. This blog has been in continuous existence since January 2008 when I said something not pleasing on Dailykos and was stripped of my trusted user status and mojo in about 90 minutes flat. So, I set up this blog so I could continue to defy consensus reality and stick to my own convictions without a group of enforcers telling me to get on the bandwagon.

In 2008, after watching the Obama campaign and the party dehumanize and humiliate Hillary Clinton in the primaries, rules committee and convention, I de-registered as a Democrat. I voted for down ticket Democrats in general elections for a couple of years and then reregistered as a Democrat. At no point have I ever been a Republican or agreed with that worldview. I was probably born a Democrat. It has been a source of tension in my immediate family for my entire life. Nevertheless, I persist.

We accept comments from all different places on the political spectrum. But there are some guidelines.

  • This is not the place to comment if you were sent by a campaign to woo people. We don’t want push or pull marketing techniques or talking points in our comment section.
  • Please refrain from calling other commenters “racist”. We have found that using that word is the quickest way to shut down a conversation and hurt the feelings of people who were discussing genuine personality or policy differences that are unrelated to race. For the record, no one on this blog tolerates racism, sexism or any other ism. It’s a given here that we all deserve dignity and respect. Violators will be moderated.
  • We are enthusiastic supporters of the first amendment. We encourage you to exercise your right to free speech. However, there are times when a commenter’s speech is deliberately disruptive and does not contribute to the conversation. If you have a particular world view that falls into one of the two categories above, or are otherwise throwing your weight around, we would ask you to consider how vastly huge the blogosphere is. Really, it’s difficult to put into words just how immense it is. You might find a different asteroid in the Oort Belt more to your liking and purposes. No, no, don’t let us impinge on your free speech. Just contact WordPress and create your own blog. It’s ok. If the universe likes what you write, it will beat a path to your URL.
  • Finally, I’m not as technically challenged as you might think. Don’t let the state of the blog theme fool you. I’ve used MS Office since some of you were in elementary school (for some reason this comes up in job interviews even if it’s listed in my Word .docx and .pdf resume document) and I’ve done light system admin for a Linux server and network. If I find a troubling comment, I will track down your IP address, post it and we will discuss it. Publicly. Just sayin. This is not FaceBook.

So, I hope you find friends here. We can be snarky and argumentative but not mean.

Knock yourself out.

RD, Proprietress.
