Episode 14: “things desired”

In this episode, I try to make a coherent narrative out of Trump’s half billion fine dilemma, bond money, top secret documents, Witness #5, Ken Buck, Lauren Boebert and the House Majority. There are a lot of moving parts and way too many revelations lately. Also, how did ScarJo’s parody of Katie Britt’s SOTU rebuttal highlight something unpleasant about Katie Britt. Then some random philosophical stuff based on an old poem.

You can listen to it at “Hey, we’re here!” Episode 14: “things desired”.

  2. Yes, Ken Buck announced he wasn’t going to run several months ago. He has had health issues in the past, so that may have something to do with his decision to retire immediately. While BoBo is moving from the 4th district to the 3rd district, both of those districts cover a lot of sparsely inhabited territory. Colorado’s districts look like this (hope this works): https://assets1.cbsnewsstatic.com/hub/i/r/2024/01/02/669eca8e-7388-4190-a795-4b47f393a936/thumbnail/1240×698/37d36892f5d5b8b08ada8735e5e0e5e5/future-of-district-4-5pkg-frame-1821.jpg?v=d1d78866939020fc1f2607ef7298e4ec

She’s actually moving clear across the state (I think about 300 miles) to hang onto a seat. Adam Frisch, the Democrat who ran against her last time, only lost by 548 votes, even though he had no help whatsoever from the national party or the DCCC. He’s running again this year, and BoBo was not polling well against him at all.

  3. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

  4. The song is not specifically Irish, but the band is.

I just realized a few minutes ago that this song is over 30 years old, which makes me feel rather superannuated.

    Rest in peace, Dolores.
