Episode 13: Woman, Whoa Man!

How did we get to the place where Katie Britt, junior Senator from Alabama, gives the GOP response to the president’s State of the Union response from her kitchen, why did it go over like a lead balloon, and what does it say about the public image of women in America in this era? I meander but eventually get to the point.

You can listen to it here at Hey, We’re Here!, Episode 13: Woman, Whoa Man!

  1. My first thought on seeing the SOTU response was “Okay, she’s in the kitchen. Is she barefoot and pregnant, too?”

  2. I think they were desperately trying to find their Gretchen Whitmer. Trying to find some pretty mom that white women can relate to & sway people over to the Republican side & it failed.

I find it diabolical the way Republicans are using women. They are that abusive boyfriend that thinks by putting his girlfriend down she will be too insecure to leave.

    • holy sh{#! THAT’S IT! It’s the “You’re nothing without me, baby. Where ya’ going to go? No one else wants you. You’re just a housewife” thing. Ugh.
That was pretty good. I totally missed that.
