Considering that Puerto Rico’s electrical grid is in such poor shape, the electric company is broke and the infrastructure is pretty much destroyed, why can’t Puerto Rico take some of the load off that failing infrastructure with a mass conversion to solar energy??
How much sunshine does it get a year? You would think that off-grid would be a priority there considering the island could do without Creamsicle’s callous remarks about self-sufficiency. Surely he wouldn’t get in the way of Puerto Rico’s solar conversion. Right?
What do you say, Nydia Velazquez?
HA! Not so stupid after all. There are renewable energy companies already looking into it according to this recent article from Reuters. Can we get Congress to push a bill through to fund it? It’s the least we could do after the horrible neglect of the last week.

Not a stupid question! And I love Creamsicle as yet another nickname for the angry pumpkin, by the way.
Regrettably, I didn’t come up with creamsicle. It’s a Samantha Bee original.
It’s fabulous.
I like angry pumpkin, rhymes with angry bumpkin.
Which is exactly what he is!
Excellent idea. I see m/billionaires buying islands. All we need is a few who are willing to take a risk in the name of humanity. Maybe can even be done without help from the Congress or the Orange Menace.
There are two things going on, right? Immediate humanitarian crisis and long term restoration of financial viability of the island and surely we can separate those two at least for right now. On the podcast they talked about the complications of debt and creditors in aiding the island. I saw somewhere trump could cancel the debt(?) Even if he could, he won’t. This man is cruel and he will think of ‘what is in it for me’ before even entertaining anything like that. He knows they are Democrats and would not vote for him. That will stop him from doing anything useful to them for the long term.
Check Jose Andreas twitter feed. He is in PR. He has a couple of restaurants in our area and he had a ‘rum sour’ on the menu, the proceeds of which was going to PR. He is obviously doing more than that.
