Prayers For the Big Dawg

the Big Dawg has been hospitalized in NY for a heart related issue.

February 11, 2010

“Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest. Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries. President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti’s relief and long-term recovery efforts. In 2004, President Clinton underwent a successful quadruple bypass operation to free four blocked arteries.”

Lets send him healing thoughts and positive vibes for a speedy recovery. He still has to walk Chelsea down the aisle this summer!

  1. I love this Big Dawg youtube.. he’s an ordinary American’s hero… and the world needs him to get well soon…

  2. “Shared Values” Bill Clinton: motivation behind his work

  3. They say that the problem he has is not unusual for someone 5 or so years after a by-pass and can be repaired fairly easily.

Bill, we can not lose you! Take care. May the Universe bless you.

  4. Just saw a scroll that HRC is canceling her travel plans. Hmm.

  5. I’ll be praying for you, Big Dawg. Get well. You are still MY president, and always will be.

  6. Get well soon, Mr. President. The world needs you.

  7. Lady of the Lions, watch over him. We need him here.

  8. Gov. Ed Rendell (PA) on MSNBC calling Bill the greatest prez in his lifetime.

    • Well duh. I have a copyright on that statement. In fact, I believe I’ve said it about 10 times this week (not online, in RL)

      • It appears I’ve broken your copyright several times just this week, in RL. Sorry SOD.

Get well soon Bill. Like a lot of other Americans, you’re still my President.

        • 🙂 That’s ok. it’s a phrase that readily springs from the lips of smart people.

    • That must be really hard for Obama to hear…since it pains BO to even say outloud that WJC had ever been POTUS.

    • That’s the truth. Say it again!

  9. Get well, Big D! The world needs you. There’s a whole generation of would-be public servants looking up to you, you’ve gotta take care. And if that doesn’t move you, you’ve got those future grandbabies to consider. You can’t spoil ’em and send ’em home if you’re not here. No more double cheeseburgers, I mean it!

  10. George and Laura Bush sent their best wishes to Bill. FOX reported that Dubya talked to Chelsea this afternoon.

Not one damn statement from the Obama’s.

    • They seem to be busy.

      • Yeah, all those fat Americans are really taking up all their time.

        • A good way to fight childhood obesity — as usual, Bill has the right idea–

Adults can help by MODELING but kids are the ones who can help kids:

          • See! This is the way to help people become healthier. Not lecturing on how high obese rates are etc. We should be teaming with organizations to help schools implement programs and teach young people better choices. We desperately need Bill.

          • Yes, and Look at that, kids feeling good because they are helping other kids!!! Not because of what they look like or because of how they score on a test or on a BMI scale.

            We need you Bill!

President Clinton’s Call to Action (2005)

“The older I get, especially following my own brush with mortality, the more determined I am to try to prevent anyone younger than me from dying. That’s why my foundation is bringing care and treatment to children and adults with HIV/AIDS in the developing world and why I continue to promote religious, racial and ethnic reconciliation in troubled areas. And that’s also a big part of why I believe we’ve got to act now to turn the tide of childhood obesity in America.

“A mind is a terrible thing to waste” is the wonderful motto of the United Negro College Fund. I hope we all believe that a heart, especially the heart of a young child, is a wonderful thing to save.”

      • Hope it wasn’t too much of a bother for him to let Hillary take some time off….

    • Really!

Well he is known to be slow …..

    • Crickets!

    • Suuuurprise.

  11. I can’t bear the thought of losing him. Really, I just can’t. Sniff, sniff

I have a lot of people to pray for right now, but he’s going straight to the top of the list. The world needs this man.

  12. Remember he called himself the “Comeback Kid.”

  13. President Clinton, I can only hope you know how much you mean to so many. We are sending you all of our good vibes for a speedy recovery.

Take a year or so off and relax. You’ve earned it. Please!

  14. We are very concerned about Bill Clinton’s health and wish him a speedy recovery –

We are Sending all the good vibes to Bill and his family –

  15. Get well Bill. You’re way to young to have such troubles.

  16. Just the thought of losing him makes me tear up!

  17. With the experience of Congressman Murtha dying post surgery just this week we have to remember not to take “routine surgery” for granted.

My prayers are with President Clinton and his family.

And I sincerely hope that if he shows any sign of a fever after they bring him home that he’s brought back to the hospital immediately.

  18. Get well soon Mr. President and please find time for some rest.

  19. Update: Hillary just arrived at the hospital.

  20. I’ve been worried about him since I saw him at Coakley’s last stand. He’d been up for three days and he looked like it. I believe there can be a dangerous point of exhaustion and I hope he stays home and rests for a month. He’s got Haiti in good hands by now and the world still needs Bill Clinton.

  21. Sending good thoughts and praying for you Bill and for your family. God Speed, and hope to see you out working for the good of mankind. ((( praying)))

  22. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mr. President. You are the example of public service and giving this country and its next generation desparately needs.

  23. Feel better, Big Dawg.

  24. Wishing nothing but the best for the Big Dawg!

Hope you get well soon Mr. “PRESIDENT!” The world needs more people like The Clintons!

  25. Take it easy Bill and think of yourself for alittle while…the world needs you, Hillary and Chelsea need you…we need you…but take some time for yourself…

We love you…the world loves you…

    • You know, I firmly believe that in his mind, he needs the world more than he realizes how much the world loves, admires and needs him, his wife, and his daughter.

  26. The man needs to freaking rest. I saw one report that said he was on his cellphone on a conference call to Haiti as they were wheeling him into the OR for the procedure.

    • That’s a Clinton thing. Remember how Hillary went right back to work with that broken elbow. Out of the country, too! This is who they are, god love ’em.

    • Yea, that sounds about right.
Bless you Big Dawg, the world needs you! Try and take it easy for a little while at least.

  27. May the love in our hearts heal your heart, Mr President.

I cannot imagine this world without you.

  28. Great photo of Bill in NY, just after 9/11. He was in Australia when the planes hit, and still got back and on the ground there with the people before GW ever showed up:

  29. Heard the news on the way home from work. Prayers for you, Mr. President! You, Hillary, and Chelsea are in our hearts!

  30. God please bless Bill Clinton.

We need him on this earth, his family needs him.

I can’t even bear to watch tv right now.

  31. “Hillary Clinton’s trip to the Middle East will be delayed until Saturday, a senior U.S. official said. She had been scheduled to depart Friday afternoon.”

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/02/11/bill.clinton/index.html?eref=time_us

  32. Statement from his cardiologist right now.

  33. The doctors are saying everything’s okay in the press conference.

  34. blockage in one of the by pass areas

  35. listening to live broadcast. Doc says nothing to do with lifestyle; procedure he had in 2004 has a 10%-20% failure rate in 5-6 years.

  36. You guys are the greatest. There are a lot of good vibes on this thread. All the best to the Clinton family. I just know Bill will be OK, but he does need to take it easy for a little while.

  37. yea from what im hearing the bigdawg seems to up an around

  38. yay! everything is great then!

  39. Thanks for this thread, and please know my prayers, meditations, visualizations, etc. are with President Bill Clinton for a full and speedy recovery. Lifting up Bill, Hill, Chelsea, all their family, and all of us. Lord knows, we need them, and they deserve our support.

To think they could both be retired, yet both work so hard for our country, and the whole planet, really.

  40. UA’s Clinton School of Public Service

Remember Haiti: Wear Red and Blue Feb. 12

    http://clintonschoolblog.com/cblog/?p=1990

A month after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed and injured thousands on Jan. 12, the school hopes this gesture will remind Americans to continue to donate to aid organizations and support those working to help Haiti recover.

“Haitians are still suffering and working to rebuild their country and put their lives back together,” said Clinton School student Ivanley Noisette, whose family is from Haiti. “We ask everyone to remember their suffering and honor the people of Haiti by wearing red and blue on Feb. 12.”

  41. Bill, you’ll always be my favorite president. Well, at least until Hillary gets her turn, and then we’ll see….. But it sure is obvious that the world still desperately needs Bill Clinton to be the one to bind up the brokenhearted, to be the face of America in the world. And someday soon, I hope we get to see him become the finest First Gentleman the world has ever seen. Who could ever play that role better? Get well, Mr. President! We need you now more than ever.

  42. I set up a ‘gratefulness” site for Bill. For those so inclined, please go and light a candle. The group is “BILL”. http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=BILL

  43. I wish Bill and the whole Clinton family well! They have endured so much hardship through the years!

And if Obama mentions anything negative about Bill’s BMI or exercise habits …I think his teleprompter should be vaporized.

    Thanks for the post, littleisis.

  44. Two national treasures. I’m just glad he got immediate care, and that Hillary and Chelsea are with him.

Love to our First Family 🙂

  45. So glad to hear Big Dawg’s okay. I hope he takes some time off to rest and heal. He was the best president of my lifetime (and my presidents begin with Eisenhower). I’m still looking forward to Hillary having the opportunity to become my best president.

  46. Reading the crawl on FOX & CNN, it said he has been feeling ill since his return from Haiti, and has been “complaining of chest discomfort FOR DAYS!?!” What the heck was he doing, after quadruple bypass, walking around with chest pains?! Big Dawg–cut it out–we need you!

Prognosis is “excellent.” He can go home as early as tomorrow, and be back in the office by Monday. Up and around, visiting with HRC & Chelsea.

  47. Get better, Bill! We’re all sending good vibes your way. We can’t lose you!

  48. Please get well, Bill. I also can’t imagine a world without him.

  49. Take a break, Bill. We need you to be here for a long time. The Best President in my lifetime!

  50. I am disappointed that his cardiologist(s) have not done a better job with management of his cardiovascular disease. Before the need for a bypass became evident to him, they had done “tests” and told him everything was fine. They probably have been saying the same thing since that bypass. They have now twice failed him. A pox on them.

  51. I live not too far from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and have visited there several times. President Clinton has the best cardiac interventionists in the country taking care of him. These are not heart surgeons as we know them. The doctor who performed the procedure seemed to know what he was talking about, and also seemed to know President Clinton’s health background very well. I feel very hopeful about the prognosis, but I am very scared we can lose him. My prayers go to him and his family. The nation needs his presence and his leadership.

  52. Just got home and saw this, my heart skipped a few beats, literally. I am so glad he is awake and doing well post procedure. He’s expected to be up and out of the hospital by Monday. (but next time don’t wait so many days, Mr. President–we all want you around for years to come!)

  53. Heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery and a long and happy life. I’m feeling a bit selfish about that wish, too. I feel so much better with Bill in the world. Take it easy for awhile and don’t go anywhere Bill!

  54. Get well Bill!

  55. Bless you, Bill. Heal soon, and try and take it a little easier!

  56. Did the Obamas issue a statement?

    • The 0 Pres talked to him by phone based on press reports. He told him to get well because Haiti needs him. Hell the whole damn world needs him since 0 is such a failure at his stolen job.

  57. Hugs and kisses to the Big Dawg. We need you!

  58. Yes, that getting stents is racist!

  59. I was so taken when reading the Clinton Tapes by the amount of time he devoted to his family – he took his role as father verrry seriously and clearly Chelsea found him to be a source of strength and guidance. His humanity and compassion makes him a different kind of president – one who really cares and wants to make a difference.

Indeed, I too am in love with the Big Dawg!
