Wednesday: The Power of 18 Million Old Uneducated Women

Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt

Hey, Conflucians, are you feeling your Cheerios this morning?  Isn’t it funny how we uneducated {{snort!}} old women and men, who even as late as August were thought as negligible voters, are now giving the parties sleepless nights.  They’re getting positively Freudian about it.  You can almost hear them question: What do women want?  It’s a totally new concept for them, that women could actually, ya’ know, *matter*.

I would like to cut some of the latest ponderers some slack for getting it soooo wrong.  They have thought so little about us in the past that they simply do not know how to characterize what they are seeing.  And it may be very true that there is a sizable segment of us without college degrees.  But they vastly underestimate our intelligence.  For centuries, intelligent women have been denied the same educational opportunities as men.  Heck, even as late as the 70’s, some of our most prestigious institutions were open only to men.  Conversely, there have been men who are as dumb as a box oof rocks who have gone to college and majored in keggers.  I’ve met quite a few of them.

But the Obamaphiles?  Who gave them permission to behave badly to us?  Who told them it was ok to physically intimdate little ol ladies at the caucuses?  Who told them it was socially acceptable to call us names, denigrate our experience and accomplishments?  Who approved of the language of media types who speculated on how it would be great if a male superdelegate took Hillary Clinton into a room and made sure he was the only one that came out?

When a person who is purported to be a leader does nothing to curb the enthusiasm of his followers, he gives them permission.  When the powers that be hold no one accountable, they give them permission.  They take the burden of conscience away from the hooligans and uninhibit deep seated prejudices.

One of the most insulting outrages is how the Obama contingent continues to use racism as a weapon against us while at the same time setting free the societal restraints against sexism.  Those restraints were already weak.  What we have seen is a pandering to the neanderthal tendencies in men from the left that is no less disgusting and unacceptable than the pandering to the white segregationists of the south by the Republicans since Richard Nixon.  In the process, it is the Obamaphiles who have voted against their own interests by passing on the true leader, a woman, in favor of a man who stroked their egos.

But we, the shrieking band of paranoid holdouts will hold them accountable.  They might have forced Hillary off the ticket but she now knows that she has millions and millions of people behind her.  I’ll bet she’s starting to feel her cheerios.

As for power, I will never give mine up to the testosterone poisoned contingent.  As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”.

And I do not consent.  Do you?

Sunday: It’s on YOUR head, Howard Dean

We have become aware of attempts by the DNC and the Obama campaign to intimidate delegates.  We know how Obama feels about “those people”, like there’s something wrong with us and they should  stay away from us.  Oh, yes, they are trying to make us as unpopular as Michael Moore.  It’s their goal to dehumanize us, to make us objects.  That way they can heap scorn and derision on us  and diminish our power.  The Obama supporters can treat us like less than human without penalty.

Well, that kind of $#*^ has consequences.

Tonight, one of our coalition members is missing.  She hasn’t been seen since she left our conference site earlier this afternoon.  No one has been able to contact her on her cell phone.  Her mother is worried because she knows her daughter has had anonymous threatening phone calls to her cell phone.

We are all very, very concerned.  But this is what happens when you reduce your opponent’s supporters to dirt beneath your feet, easily ignored, dismissed, illegitimate.  This is what happens when you unjustifiably accuse people of being racists and one of “those people” instead of a wife and a mother and a wonderful, caring person.  This person’s only goal is to make sure that voters’ voices are heard.  It allows unstable zealots permission to act on their emotions, unchecked. Someone must be held accountable for these outrageous acts of psychological and perhaps physical aggression against our coalition members.  Someone needs to be held responsible.

Now, it could be that she is sitting on the tarmac and her flight was delayed by rain and that her cellphone battery died and there is nothing to worry about.  We will all be very relieved to hear her voice tomorrow morning after a night of nerves and worry.  But there is no doubt in my mind who those responsible persons are if anything happens to her at the hands of one of the people who has threatened her because of her political activity.  If our friend doesn’t show up soon, Howard Dean and Barack Obama have a lot to answer for.

Update: DancesWithPumas reports that our friend checked in and is safe.  We are all very relieved.  But the point still stands.  We are sick and tired of the smears and dehumanizing speech and the death threats from the Obama supporters (and I have the proof in the spam filter, complete with the IP and email addresses and the Obama cheers. They’re sickening.).  It’s time to reign them in.  We’re people, we’ve got lives and people who depend on us and none of us deserve this treatment from the mouths of the DNC, the Obama campaign and or Obama’s out-of-control supporters simply because we choose to exercise our right to speak freely and assemble.

Enough is enough.  Someone is going to get hurt.

Unity Through Purge

This Friday, my partner Gary and I traveled to New Hampshire to protest the sham Clinton/Obama unity event orchestrated by the Obama campaign. The event reached new heights of bizarre political theatre, as they bused a couple thousand Obama supporters into a town of 1500 whose one main road had to be blocked off to accommodate the several hundred bus trips in took to ferry them back and forth to their cars parked ten miles away.

The event was never about people. It was about a town’s name and its location. The event was held in a town called Unity. Leave it to Obama to elevate symbolism over substance, and to choose a location so remote dissenters may have a really hard time getting there, especially if the dissenters happen to be working people who are usually busy on Friday. It might also be hard to get there if you are elderly, or if you are not really rich, since going to out of the way places uses up a lot of gas, which costs $4.30 now, if you hadn’t noticed.

But “wait”, you say, “You are being unfair to Obama.” This event really was about uniting the Democratic Party, healing the rift, and all singing Kumbaya. If that we’re so, why did they never address the Clinton supporters who came there to express their disgust with the party? Every single one of the people who were most vocal described themselves as life-long Democrats. No one ever asked us about our concerns. No one ever tried to help us unify. Instead, we got told to go to a “free speech zone” down the road away from the event. I thought I was witnessing a rally for George Bush. Didn’t he invent the “free speech zone”?

Other attempts at Unity by the Obama campaign consisted of throwing out a Hillary supporter who had a sign that read, “Democratic party, A House Divided”, and getting the secret service to remove another who dared to hold a sign about 2nd amendment rights.

The following video and stills are of one of the PUMA supporters who was removed from the event (her daughter was still inside). I put up one pic earlier, but this is the whole story:

She did get back in (the secret service guards refused to heed the Obama campaign’s demands that no signs be allowed into the event). I got these stills of her being accosted by two campaign members:

There is a final video clip to this series where I ask the man on the left (a campaign member) why they took her sign. He says that the rules were that no “handmade signs” are allowed. When I point out the other pro Obama “handmade signs” he walks away. I haven’t rendered the video yet, but will add it on here when I do.

Obama campaign never cared what our issues were. He never asked. He never sent anyone to ask.

I know from talking to a lot of Clinton supporters that there are many reasons to be upset with the party and Obama. However, let me just explain what I think is my biggest beef in case Obama is reading this blog, and for a brief second cared to know why we feel the way we do

On May 31st , 2008 at the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee held in Washington DC, the Democratic Party took a giant leap backwards, retreating into its old-politics proverbial “smoky back rooms”. Instead of honoring voters, the committee violated their own sunshine rules and met behind closed doors where they struck a deal to give delegates to Obama from voters that had chosen Clinton. The hunch that the DNC had been rigging the primary to defeat Clinton was confirmed to be true for a lot of her supporters. In order to install Obama quickly, the committee was willing to trash one of the core principles the Democratic Party has come to stand for in America, voting rights.

Now, as more evidence comes out about Obama’s anti-Democratic practices in the primary, his blatant lies, and broken promises, his use of the worst divisive techniques, a trifecta including racism, ageism, and classism, more and more Clinton supporters are hardening their hearts to him. Many believe a vote for him in November would be a vote for voter suppression and fraud. To some, a vote for him would mean saying yes to using race as a weapon to deflect any criticism. Others have long not accepted that someone who has essentially never had a full-time job, who continually seeks higher office without ever having accomplished anything, and who has no foreign affairs experience should ever become President. They have lived through the Bush years.

Another dose of reality for the Obamabots.

To any Obama people who were at the rally:

Did you notice how many African Americans were at the rally? The few we saw were selling bootleg shirts, with Obama grafting 10% of the top of their profits.

Obama cares about you so much, he made you park 10 miles from the event, and forced you to ride buses. You were stranded at the event until Obama said it was time to leave, And you know what? He didn’t even care about you enough to make sure there was enough shelter in case it rained. But remember? It did rain, and the tents that were for the security service detail weren’t enough for everyone to stand under, so you had to stand out in the rain. Some of you didn’t even have umbrellas. I felt bad for you. Once Obama is through with his props, he doesn’t need them anymore.

See you next time Obama wants to unify.

Sincerely,

Your dearest Mawm

OK guys. I have so much more to tell you. Gary and I have been working like little faeries to get this stuff out. I have to pause because the NYC Gay pride parade is going to start in short order, and I feel I must warn the LGBT community the danger Obama poses to our community.

So here are our outfits. We’ll be capturing interesting things from the parade, so stay tuned. Gay Pride is always a blast!

Finally, from GCH, here is the video of MAWM being interviewed on Cavuto:

MUCH MORE TO COME: more suppression of free speech, an obamaphile calls gary racist, and much, much more….please stay tuned!!!! (we shot the video in HD so it is taking forever to compress and render–but its coming)

Musings on Monday

  • Where is NYC going to get ticker tape? Do they even *have* tickers any more? I thought that’s what RSS feeds and Blackberries were for.
  • Opposite Day on NPR this morning was celebrated by Mara Liason. She interviewed Republican strategists and pollsters who say that if we give Clinton the nomination, she will lose against McCain. Oh, and Hillary also galvanizes support among Democrats. Gee, Mara, you make that sound like a *bad* thing. Anyway, the Republicans are certainly pulling out all of the stops to get Obama the nomination with the Tar Baby routine. “No, No, Please don’t throw us in the briar patch with Obama! He will *crush* us with independents. They LOVE him. We’d much rather run against Clinton. She’d be a piece of cake to beat.” Also loved the woman said that she would only vote for Clinton if she were running against Osama bin Laden. Well, they are Republicans, after all. No one ever said they could think logically.
  • It seems that there are hordes of Obamaphiles standing on the streetcorners in New York City, harrassing people walking by with chants and general rowdiness. It’s really turning voters off. So, GOOD WORK, guys! Keep it up! Can I get you some coffee and donuts? Maybe a lozenge to keep your throat lubricated? We don’t want you to get hoarse. Just stay out there and give it your all. Don’t hold back. We’re counting on you to win this for us.
