Upon a painted ocean

Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.

That image was taken just after Dawn from the back of the ship. If you’re wondering where the wake is, there isn’t one. We’re just drifting – intentionally. It’s a sea day.

Wake up song along the deck 12 running track:

  1. One of my favorite poems, “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.” II am glad that you are having a good time!

  2. Hmm…..looks really nice!

    • Ok, I stupidly didn’t spend the budget I had set aside for drinks. Once again, I practiced an absurd amount of restraint.
Well, today we are in Nassau and I’m staying on the ship to do the water slide and sit in the adults only pool. It’s so hot and humid today that I think I’d get vertigo if I went to a straw market. Snorkeling is out since the lady was eaten by a shark a couple of weeks ago.
But the drinks are good. So, here I am. Sitting by the pool, looking at Nassau and drinking girly drinks with another solo traveler who thinks Trump is a whiny man baby loser criminal. We’re going to drink Champagne when he’s indicted.
Weird, I can feel the ship rocking…

  3. The fall is such a great cruise time! I have been on a number. I especially liked the Mediterranean cruise from Rome to Istanbul and back. The entry into Istanbul harbor with the sounds of the Calls to prayers was the most amazing thing. And then did a Baltic cruise out of Copenhagen to Estonia, St Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm and then fjords of Norway. I loved them. Met fascinating people, great food and unbelievable sights. What a way to travel to such diverse cities! May your weather gods smile down on you. We always said we would be happy to sit with people at dinner. Met really interesting people.

  4. Weekly reminder:

Friday nights 7 PM – 8 PM North American Central Time:

The Magical Mystery Tour. Host Tom Wood takes a look at the Beatles from a different angle each week.

Friday nights 8 PM – 12 AM North American Central Time:

Beaker Street, the legendary rock radio program, has returned. Hopefully, Clyde Clifford remains recovered from his recent illness.

Both shows can be found at http://arkansasrocks.com/

If you can’t catch Beaker Street live, MP3 files are available soon afterward at https://beakerstreetsetlists.com/
