When will we see you again?

It was August 8, 1974. I was in the car with my family, a tired kid at the end of a vacation to Cape Cod where I ate my fill of creamy clam chowder with little hexagonal crackers just barely touching the surface. The sun was strong, the sand was gritty and the water was freezing cold. So, we were warm, rubbery and drowsy with summer contentment.

We listened to a radio station from Boston. I think Larry Glicknik had a talk show at night but there was pop music on the radio that afternoon. The Three Degrees we’re hitting the pop stratosphere with “When Will I See You Again?” when a news bulletin broke in to say that Richard Nixon was planning to resign the next day.

48 years later, the FBI raids the home of another president who crimed. Trump makes Nixon look like a petty criminal.

Some people are going to blame Democrats for this but this isn’t a partisan issue. Trump committed crimes against all Americans. It’s just a bad sign that so few Republicans noticed.

So, who is at the top of the pop charts this week? Spotify says it’s Harry Styles channeling Aha with As it was

Well, the title seems appropriate.
