    • The Lack of Belief In Good
Are humans good, bad or neutral? It’s an old philosophical debate, and not just in the West. Confucius thought they were born neutral, for example, while the later Confucian Mencius felt they were good, noting that everyone who saw a child fall into a well would be horrified. Others, including many Confucians and the Christian church, with original sin, have […]

Fitness Month: the longest month on the planet

I checked the stats. My team members must be running half marathons. It didn’t seem fair. Then I realized that my Apple heart app wasn’t loading my steps to the wellness app.

Tomorrow, I get a fit bit.

Found a good Spotify playlist with AC/DC and Def Leppard etc. Pretty good. Got a good beat, you can walk/run to it. But this is my favorite so far today. I want a hot body. And a party in France.

  1. I ran on a treadmill for a while, but I could never find the right music to listen to. Indiepop is not ideal for running to. I remember running while listening to Pale Saints, the Bats, the Walkabouts, but it was not running music. I don’t like heavy metal or ’70’s hard rock. So I gave up using the treadmill. Don’t blame me, blame the music industry.

    • The best running song ever is Jessica by the Allman Brothers

      • I like that song! It was one of the few songs on our two rock stations here which offered a welcome respite from the rest of the music they played.

    • Never did get the hang of running with headphones, probably because of where I live (Boulder). You kinda want to be able to *hear* when there’s a mountain lion in the vicinity.

  2. My favorite running song: The Valley Road by Bruce Hornsby and the Range. Plus, Bruce is just absolutely gorgeous in the video. He was my grad school crush.
