White lady says Happy Juneteenth!

I don’t really have anything to add except it’s always good to celebrate the liberation of any people who have suffered under oppression. We witnesses cannot improve on the character traits of strength, perseverance and hope. We can only admire them. Very American. And while many of us have been ready all our lives to take our places as team players instead of always being the stars, we still have a way to go. Juneteenth is a long overdue recognition that I’m sure will help us as a country move forward.

We’re slow. Sometimes too slow for the generations past. But we will get there and there is momentum now. Everybody push together now.

And who doesn’t need another federal holiday? We already work harder than the rest of the world. Isn’t it revealing how some pundits think we’re already slacking?

Some attitudes never change. So, it’s a good thing this holiday has been signed into law.
