Representative Katie Porter explains what (or who) is holding up the CARES bill for Covid relief:
“Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?”
If they would rather die,” “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”
And now for my favorite Christmas Carol:

Not forgetting that Moscow Mitchelle has *thousands* of papers on his desk that he does NOT want to push through .
i can hear Jim Backus as Mr. Magoo playing Scrooge, saying those lines in the wonderful “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol.” I particularly like when the ghosts take a bow at tee end of the performance.
As to McConnell, whom no ghosts will ever scare or move from his contemptuous social darwinism, we see the effective Republican playbook once again. Make every bill one which gives big benefits to donors, in this case, protection from any lawsuits for negligence or even purposeful actions causing Covid infections. Refuse to pass any bill unless it includes it. Blame the Democrats for there being no bill. Watch the media criticize the Democrats, and demand of them, “Why is there no bill?” Force the Democrats to give the corporations what they want. Sit back and smirk some more. That first relief package, the only one so far, was essentially a giveaway to billion dollar corporations, and yet the Democrats were forced to vote for it, otherwise there would be no bill, and people like Katie Tur, who may mean well, but like most of them, does not understand, would have blamed them for it. I saw Wolf Blitzer grilling Nancy Pelosi a few months ago, saying, “isn’t a bill better than no bill? Why don’t you just take what they are offering?” And Republicans always get their way, and every bill ends up being a gift to their billionaire donors who gratefully respond by pouring hundreds of millions into their campaign funds and private bank accounts.
The owners and higher-ranking employees of the media–“mainstream” as well as openly reactionary–are rich, or at least affluent.
If the Democrats ever got control of the White House and both houses of Congress, they might–might–raise taxes on affluent-or-richer people.
Need I say more?

Very nice rendition of that song.
Now this information makes me nervous.

I still want Coumo and NYS to OK vaccine before I’ll feel secure.
Sounds like Covid disaster theater to me. He wants to look like a hero. The FDA is going to approve it. But it will be officially ok with me if Fauci, Kessler and Bright say it’s ok.
Jeez, what a little shit Trump is. You can’t speed these things up any more than they’re being sped up now. One day isn’t going to make one bit of difference if that’s what it takes to cross all the Ts and dot all the I’s.
He should step back and let the experts take care of this.
