Brad Raffesperger, GA Secretary of State is being thrown under the bus by Donald Trump:
“…my family voted for him, donated to him and are now being thrown under the bus by him.”
In tweets, Trump has referred to Raffensperger as a “so-called Republican” and questioned why more ballots were not disqualified, claiming he would have won Georgia if they had been.
Well, there was your first mistake, Brad. You actually considered Trump presidential material after 2020.
Let me guess, Brad is a generational Republican. He got to his present position playing by Republican rules. He’s got a good reputation. It sounds like Brad might have just a touch too much integrity though.
While Brad was still a Republican, his party had become Trumplican and loyalty is strictly enforced from the top down.
It doesn’t go in the opposite direction.

In other news, yesterday, Gov. Tom Wolf signed the certification for the slate of electors for Pennsylvania. They are certified for Biden/Harris. Winner take all. That’s the way we roll here.
So, today, Trump and Giuliani are going to Gettysburg for a “hearing” on the election results. As far as I know, there’s no court involved. I think it’s more like an “airing of grievances” one month early.
The location is significant. Gettysburg is in the middle of Trump country. He’s looking for attention and support from his fellow “victims” of this cruel, cruel election process. Oh, the yumanity!
The media shouldn’t cover it. It only encourages him. Plus, it’s cold, grey and drizzly in PA today. Plus plus, there’s a pandemic.
I’d just stay home.
Update:
Dang!

On the optimistic side, I was thinking that perhaps when Trump is actually gone from office, many of the cult members who adored him will not vote next time. Trump offered them some kind of tent revival religion, where they could go and yell and scream and do the hour of hate. I’m not sure how excited they would be for Haley or Pompeo. I don’t know how much they care about so-called Republican policies. They have been trained to hate the liberals, though, so maybe that would be enough to get them out to vote like this time, but it is also possible that they will just stay home.
Trump craves attention, and that is an understatement. So it is almost certain that he will start some kind of network. The question is whether the rest of the media will cover it very much. We do know that the Republicans are gearing up to try to win the House, and then retake the presidency, and essential to that is to create anger and grievances among their followers. They have been doing a version of that almost forever. Meanwhile, Biden has so far nominated some very impressive people for the foreign policy side of the administration. There are people like that, we had almost forgotten about them. Serious well educated people who actually understand things. Maybe competence will appeal to some who have been wrung dry by the intentional chaos and psychodrama of the Trump years. He and his cabal of stupid, lying, and malevolent incompetents have screwed things up so badly that it will take many years to fix, and that is if we can win all the elections and not slide backward. The stock market is going up because Trump’s chaos is ending, and because of hopeful news on the vaccines, not due to anything Trump has done. Trump trying to take credit for it is yet another exemplification of his unceasing desire to write a history in which he is the hero. If the stock market had gone down, he would have said that it was because Biden stole the election. Everything is malleable when you run a cult.
It is ugly here in Ga. for sure but again, how did it escape so many people after 4 years that this is what Trump does? I think too many Republicans believe themselves to be special and believe that things will never happen to them. Bad things happen to people according to Republicans because of their own choices. They basically blame the victim.
