Chaos and Confusion is the point

Greg Sargent tweeted about the various scenarios involving state legislature appointed electors and governor approved slates of electors and which ones get tossed and why they get tossed and whether GOP Senators would side with Biden or Trump blah blah blah.

I’m not saying that the game couldn’t play out that way because there is a non-zero possibility that it could. But it’s remote.

What isn’t remote is that we are pulling away from Election Day and the celebratory Saturday when Biden was declared the winner. And the longer this drags on, the greater the chances that all this game playing is going to result in people forgetting that the winner, BIDEN/HARRIS, has been picked. It’s decisive.

So, let’s stop focusing our attention on things that *could* happen but probably won’t, and redirect our attention to what is actually happening now. That is, Trump and his GSA holding the government hostage during a pandemic and transition.

There will be plenty of pushback if MI or PA legislators do not appoint the slate according to the actual votes. That’s a given. In fact, it’s such a given that it should act as a deterrent.

Also, I’m sick AF of hearing about Trump nuggets’ feelings about pretty much anything. Just like the narcissists they are and the one they follow, they play the victim and act like nobody else’s feelings or priorities are important. The media has got to get used to “grey rocking” them. That is, act like you have all the interest, attention and sympathy of a grey rock when they start their whiny grievance fest.

It’s over, Trump lost, we don’t care.

  1. In true GOP fashion, IMO, this is just working to normalize the fight that will occur after the 2024 election. They (GOP) play the long con, and by continually complaining about results which favor Democrats they are simply trying to keep their base (70M+) on the reservation for the next time.

The longer the Democrats let this stand (i.e. Trump’s refusal to concede) the easier it becomes for the GOP the next time.

  2. My repub turned indie friend said she was not surprised that 70M people voted for the loser for two reasons: law and order not pursued by Dem mayors in the wake of the violence fomented by BLM in response to the death of George Floyd and a housing act put in place by the Obama admin that requires the suburbs to provide affordable housing to minorities in the same percentages said minorities have in the nearest city. There were serious penalties for non compliance. Sounds like racism to me, the real elephant in the room. If Harris runs, there will of course be plain old misogyny as well. I also think the GOP may pivot in 2024 to a Kasich, Romney or Hogan type Repub. Personally, i hope trump, his spawn and coconspirators are in prison in 2024. But that would require the reckoning Masha spoke of.

  3. And now for something completely off topic: 😛

    “Again?”
