Derek reads the vaccine data so we don’t have to.

Um, yes, we do. Never take anyone’s word for it, even if they’re pretty good at reading the data. Questions are good. Derek would expect nothing less. That’s science.

Nevertheless, for those of you who like the short summary, Derek Lowe at In the Pipeline says the Pfizer vaccine in promising:

https://twitter.com/dereklowe/status/1325820806476292103?s=21

We’ll see if it holds up.

The not so promising news is former FDA commissioner David Kessler is on Biden’s Covid task force. It’s kind of like the pendulum swinging too far in the other direction. Kessler never met a study that couldn’t have benefitted from additional safety data. It seemed excessive. But maybe that was then. This is now. We need to get to a sweet spot.

In the meantime, no one take off their masks and observe all safe social distancing guidelines until a vaccine is approved.

This might be a good time for Emily Murphy to sign the transition papers at the HSA lest she and her boss get rightfully accused of holding up the distribution of vaccines early next year.

You can have four more years of American carnage, economic instability and a raging pandemic with Trump or you can accept that maybe it’s time to let him go.
