Be happy and be well. Please be careful about Covid. Viral load matters for infection, spending hours in a house with people is a great way to get infected. Feel free to use comments to discuss topics unrelated to recent posts. I’m doing my annual fundraiser. If you like my writing and can afford to, […]

Simple WFH Office Etiquette

For the record:

I’m showered, facially moisturized, hair squished with “product” and fully clothed in work clothes, not pajamas or leggings or a robe or any combination of top and no or super casual bottom by the time I login at 7:30am to work.

For me, work clothes are a nice shirt or sweater and nice jeans.

If I don’t start the day like this, I’m not as sharp and the rest of my day is shot as well. I might as well not even get out of bed. Forget about tidying up the kitchen at lunch.

Does it make me perfect? Nope. Am I being anal? Lololol!!! As if. Please send deep cleaning crew.

Am I super careful to not look unprofessional on a Skype call? YES.

It also helps to put a slider or piece of duct tape over the webcam.

But if I had to take it off for any reason, I’d look like I do every day I go to work down town.

Ok, I don’t put on my shoes. I wear those non-slip socks – about 50% of the time. The rest of the time, I wear ankle boots because I want to complete my look. Crazy? Probably.

Anyway, it goes without saying that you should not masturbate at work. It’s a general guideline. But if you’re going to do it, make absolutely sure your webcam is off AND covered, the meeting is over and you have taken off your headset or the mic is in the upright position away from the mouth.

This is another example of simple WFH office etiquette.

  1. A new CNN poll has Biden up 12 in Pennsylvania! it seems higher than likely, but it still nice to see. They have him up 4 in Florida, but somehow call this an essential tie because the margin of error is 4%. Well, I would much prefer a four-point lead, because he could as likely be up eight as tied. i would be cautious and subtract about four percent because of cheating, but it is still a decent poll, and PA is doing great, keep it up!

As to the other, well, i do not know how to Skype or Zoom, and would not, unless my workplace required it. And if I were just starting my work career now, I might not do very well at it, because of the technology requirements. But if somehow I leaned o do those things, I would act as if people were watching me until I turned the computer off, and even then I would be wary. People have cameras everywhere!

    • You’d get used to the technology requirements. You already seem proficient. A 5 minute overview of outlook/Skype would set you up nicely.

As for leads in PA, every vote counts. We can’t afford to get all heady about polls. I’m not kidding when I say I’m at ground zero. Most of the people around me are Biden/Harris supporters. But go 10 miles in any direction and you start to get into mean territory. We might outnumber them in Allegheny county but we are surrounded by them. It’s sort of like the prison season of the Walking Dead.
It’s even worse where my sister lives in York county. I got threatened by one of her 2A friends while I was offering him a stuffed peppadew at a BBQ. Never met the guy before. Knew nothing about him and wasn’t talking politics to anyone. But he sure knew I was a liberal (do we give off an aura or something??) He told me how much he was looking forward to using liberals for target practice. That’s like Heart of Darkness land where the horror, the horror lives. My sister fits in very well indeed.

  2. Anyway, it goes without saying that you should not masturbate at work. It’s a general guideline. I mis-read that last part to read “genital guideline “
