Because the family of a mentally ill Philadelphia man holding a knife called for an ambulance, and the cops showed up. They claim he “charged” them and they shot and killed him. The mental health unit is a pilot program and isn’t paid to work on the weekends. Protesters didn’t do this, looters did. (Maybe … Continue reading Here was my neighborhood last nigh […]

    • Interview Part 2: Politics Thru Climate Change
This second excerpt from my interview is more interesting and longer. This is the second clip from my interview with Ian Welsh (Ian blogs at ianwelsh.net). For this segment, we went on a wild ride discussing the big picture mess that is US politics and society more broadly. I asked Ian what might happen if […]

This is why Gov. Wolf won’t approve school sports in PA this year.

It’s because of incidents like this. Alicia Kitts goes to watch a game on school property. She has a mask, presumably so she could get in. Then she refuses to wear it in violation of Ohio’s state rules about spectators at a school sporting event.

Let’s make it clear about what is happening in the video below. She’s not being arrested and tazed because she refused to wear a mask. She’s being arrested and tazed for not leaving when the school safety officer gave her options. In other words, she broke the rules. You know, law and order and all that.

I don’t think the right is getting it. The governor of Ohio and the state legislature could just put a moratorium on any spectators at a school sports game. Is that what they want? Because if I were governor, that’s what I’d do. If even one person can’t comply with a request to put on a mask or leave, then no one can go to a sports activity as a spectator. Students only.

This is why Governor Wolf in PA keeps vetoing the bills the GOP legislature sends him for local control of school sports games. Funny how the legislature keeps complaining about it. Why don’t they just get a veto proof majority to override him? Is it because they don’t have enough flat earthers in Harrisburg to join the happy throng of Republicans gleefully breathing on each other?

And you know, I’m going to bet that if Kitts has been drunk and disorderly, guys would be playing that clip on a loop like it was porn.

Bottom line, she’s no Rosa Parks, she set a very poor example for her kids and she’s going to ruin it for everybody in Ohio. She got arrested and tazed for struggling.

At least she wasn’t at home in bed and asleep.
