    • The Left Wing “Shit Sandwich” Dilemma
Kamala Harris and Joe Biden each have terrible records. There is no reason to believe they will do much that is good, and every reason to believe they will do much that is bad. Trump will, at least for Americans, probably be even worse. (It is less clear he will be better for foreigners.) The […]

Who else here is gritting their teeth…

… waiting for November 3?

I’m going to vote by mail in Pennsylvania so hard.

One Response

  1. I think this is a very good point. I do not have a Twitter account, but I do look at a few of the accounts of writers and journalists whose views I mostly agree with, and who express opinions in a forceful if circumscribed manner. And it seems that even there, the focus is almost entirely on Trump: what he said, what he Tweeted. The cable news starts virtually every story with Trump, showing numerous videos of him yelling, insulting, all the things he does every single day.

Trump is a stupid person. He is not a media genius. So maybe it’s more Republicans than him. They dominate the media, they control the narratives and the framing. Democrats are relegated to reactive mode. I know that Pelosi fumes as this; she has said so on TV, “Why do you keep making every story about something Trump said?” Now, one might hope that most people will be so sick of Trump that they will vote against him just to have him go away. But from what I read, the media desperately want him to win because he makes money for them. And he makes money for Twitter, too. So the only think I could suggest is that people who use Twitter should stop quoting him, stop arguing with his human or bot followers, just stop playing the game which he has set up. Talk or write about how awful his policies are, and how much cheating he is doing. But reacting to every new verbal outrage of his, does seem to be doing exactly what he craves. There are kids in school, mostly boys when i went, who crave attention, and are always acting out, trying to be the focus. That is Trump, has always been. I wish that some people would write, “Trump said another incredibly stupid thing today,” and then not quote it. He would not like that, he wants an argument, a fight, someone to try to bully into submission.
