Wait, what about…

Today, Trump said this:

I don’t know… lots of people I work with are not looking forward to going back to the office. It’s not the office we’re worried about. It’s parking since no one wants to take mass transit right now. They’d be right to be scared what with everyone from Chris Christie to Greg Abbott to Ron DeSantis advocating voluntary personal sacrifices for the economy.

People are legitimately scared. They could definitely end up dead from a stroke or viral pneumonia. Not to mention the weeks and weeks of hospitalization. If you have kids depending on you, or really, anyone depending on you, you just can’t get sick. It’s not an option.

So telling people to be warriors is a bit facetious.

But wait, there’s more.

Haven’t we been told for 3+ years now to fear the terror of a Central American toddler seeking refugee status here in the US? Yeah, they were like vorpal rabbits.

“That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!”

Remember how they were coming in caravans, unstoppable hordes of disease carrying, psychopathic 8 year olds just itching to join a gang?

“Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer!”

They were going to invade our country, hide under the bed with the Muslims and murder us in our sleep.

“He’s got huge, sharp– eh– he can leap about– look at the bones!”

Wow, it’s a good thing we didn’t let that happen. I was scared silly. We, the most intimidating superpower the world has ever known, had to create a solid barrier and treat human beings like sewage because they were soooooo dangerous. Oh my god, we were defenseless against them. They were like kryptonite, rendering us completely helpless.

Holy cow, I’m sure glad we don’t have Mexicans to deal with anymore. I might have soiled my armor.

Anyway, now we’re warriors against a virus that has no vaccine or effective treatment that will probably destroy what’s left of our precarious existences.

NOW, we’re WARRIORS.

How conveeeeenient.
