    • The Well Meaning American Oligarchy Are SO Misunderstood
Just saw a case of the argument that “the people who have been enriching themselves by fucking everyone else for four decades are misunderstood, they’re just following the incentives, and suggesting that the people killing and impoverishing you are bad is polarizing.” Lovely. Everyone is well-meaning, and it’s all just a misunderstanding. They don’t mean […] […]

Clowns to the left of me…

Has anyone seen this clip of Warren vs a Branch Bernidian in South Carolina yesterday?

First, y’all should know not to mess with Elizabeth Warren. Have you seen her in debate? She is smart, prepared and fearless. It’s like walking into a buzz saw. Seriously, there’s no one on that stage who can compose a deadly reply better than she does. Someone should put together her greatest debate hits. Devastating.

Second, if you’re going to make the rules, don’t complain about them later.

Third, this is why I will never vote for Bernie in my primary in April even if he is the last candidate on the ballot. I’ll write in a name. He and his followers are dismissive and are contemptuous of the majority of Democrats who vote in Democratic primaries. It takes a certain chutzpah and a megalomaniacal ego to lose the 2016 primary by 4 million votes and then petition the superdelegates to defy the will of all the voters and dump the actual winner. And let’s recall that 2016 was not like 2008 when the breadth of a gnat’s wing separated the delegate count between Hillary and Obama. No, 2016 was unambiguous. Bernie LOST the earned delegate count not by a plurality of voters but by a vast majority of voters.

But just like every media pundit and clueless rules committee person and Republican ever, shutting up and muting all of the woman candidate’s voters is something Bernie and his guys do reflexively. They don’t think about it for a second. It’s like a woman candidate’s votes are worth only 3/5ths of a male candidate’s votes, especially if they’re Bernie’s. Everybody knows that.

Fourth, the crazy rationalization that Bernie people make to justify their whining is stupid to the point of being Trumpian. The latest is that somehow the DNC conspired with Hillary in 2016. yes, yes, Democrats are notorious for taking orders from the DNC. We do what we’re told.

I’m insulted.

Here’s the truth, Bros, we voted for Hillary because we *liked* her better. Some of us even voted with our vaginas because the last thing we wanted was some old guy telling us how he feels for us wimin who are working moms with child care issues making $.87 for every dollar a man makes and can’t decide what to do with our reproductive system without consulting a committee of religious elders (Obama’s position. People forget.) and Republican legislatures. I don’t believe any man can represent women better than a woman and especially not Bernie.

Just face it, Some of us wanted Hillary because we liked her and because she was vastly more qualified than Bernie. The DNC has nothing to do with it. In fact, I made sure I never heard or saw one single campaign ad or pac ad the entire 2016 season and I only watch about 1 hour of cable news a day. The rest of my news I get from reading all the time from a diverse assortment of resources. I don’t even use FaceBook for gawd’s sakes. So how would the deep state DNC make me do anything?

The unbelievable and distasteful arrogance of Bernie and his cult is they are convinced, just like every Christian Fundagelical I have ever known, is that we are naive, untouched savages, enslaved by the fear of our impending deaths without salvation, waiting to be enlightened. And if the first 300 times they’ve tried to do it didn’t work, it’s because we are like children and surely the next time we hear The Word, we will be filled with understanding. And if that doesn’t work, they’ll just take over the party. It’s for our own good.

This is why more and more actual Democrats would rather burn in hell than vote for Bernie.

  1. I see, from dealing with a Bernie Bro on another website, that the Bros are already setting themselves up to blame us if Crazy Grandpa Bernie wins the nomination but loses the general election, because we just wouldn’t clap loudly enough for Tinkerbell.

They also believe faith shapes reality.

You called it; a cult is a cult is a cult. 😦

  2. Got my notification that I am now registered D (from I) so I can vote in the PA primary… also got my notification that they will send me a mail in ballot for the primary.

Its time for all the states to wake up and go to mail in ballots. PA has made some progress this year, but they are still being stupid about how they are going to handle the ballots… i.e. not start counting until election day etc.

    • You know, I’m kind of ok with them waiting until Election Day to count. I don’t want to give anybody any chances to manipulate the counts to make things more even before Election Day.

      • My biggest fear about waiting to count, is that the count is slow and leans heavily D, which will cause the state (still controlled by GOP) to kill mail in voting.

  3. Me. Me. Me. I’m wearing my asbestos suit and ready to burn in hell. I can’t stand him. Maybe because I’m one of your early PUMAS.

    • I just read a terrifying tweet. What if we’re all in Coronavirus lockdown on Super Tuesday?? I think a lot of voters have been chomping at the bit to knock Sanders off his pedestal by voting for someone else in the big ST states. But what if we can’t??
Do we postpone all of these primaries to some time in April and do them all in one day? (My choice) Do we go straight to a brokered convention?
      Any suggestions?
Jeez, all of the sudden 5 people in my immediate vicinity in the cube farm started hacking and coughing. It would be just my luck to go through chemo, surgery and radiation only to be felled by Coronavirus conspiring with the weird unrelated nodule thingy in my lung.
      🤨

      • RD, here is Canada’s take on the coronavirus: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories. Interesting, huh? I don’t believe we will be on lockdown. Stay 3′ from coughing people. It’s not airborne, but avoid those big droplets.

        • To be honest, I don’t think anyone really knows. I’m not even sure about Canada and my kid is living there right now. They haven’t updated their confirmed in days or they are nearly case free. I do think It’s interesting that India is an exercise extreme caution. That seems more realistic.
As for lockdown, I think it’s coming. I’m not panicking or anything but I can’t imagine taking the bus downtown every morning to go to a building where on every floor there is a newly returned worker from India whose government isn’t being honest with the world. And you know I don’t mean to stigmatize Indians. It’s just that we don’t know what we don’t know and until we do, no one is safe. We’re just working in one big vertical community contagion zone.
BTW, I’m not sure we can trust our own reporting anymore either. That missing spot in Oklahoma that disappeared was very disturbing.

  4. RD,

Even if I caught the coronavirus (God forbid), I’d have them roll me to the polls on a stretcher dressed in an asbestos suit so that I could vote against sanders. He’s the other side of the same coin with trump and just as much a con man and phony, and a detriment to democracy.

Liz was right. She damn sure would make a better president than sanders. Like you, I no longer watch the news nor the polls because they continue to erase and/or underestimate the women while touting sanders, biden, bloomberg and buttigieg daily just because they are white men. None of these men hold a candle to Liz or Amy. The media knows it, the bernie bros know it, the republicans know it, trump knows it and God knows it!

    • Lol! I’ll roll your stretcher for you.

    • Well, they are not touting Bloomberg, as he gets uniformly negative press. Bing, which I have used as a search engine because I hate Google, runs all negative stories about him. Just search “Bloomberg,” an they’ll slow articles from any paper they can find which attack him.I will have to search for another search engine., because Bing also loves to run positive stories about Trump, and will do so through the election. This is not just coincidence, it is deliberate. The search engines also ran consistently negative stories about Hillary, I would not even look up the word “Hillary” on any day, because the first ten stories listed were always mocking or dismissing or conspiratorial about her.

As to Warren, I cannot see how focusing all her anger and contempt upon Bloomberg does her campaign any good. So the only conclusions are, 1) She is really inept at campaign strategy; 2)She is just so upset at NDAs and billionaires, that she cannot do anything but spend all her debate time attacking him; 3) She is carrying out a strategy on behalf of Sanders. The candidate in her “lane,” is Sanders. The first thing she said in the debate was how much she agreed with “Bernie,” on just about every issue. The other day, when she was asked by a press figure to indicate any criticisms of Sanders, she attacked Bloomberg. When the reporter said that his question was about Sanders, she said “I heard you,” and went back to attacking Bloomberg. If Bloomberg does not do well enough on Super Tuesday, as is becoming more likely, the only remaining threat to Sanders winning the nomination is Biden. If there is only one candidate contesting Sanders, he will win more delegates than that person, based on all reliable polls. He will win the states he won against Hillary in 2016, and a few where Hillary beat him soundly, like California. Biden will do better than recently, but not nearly enough to match Sanders in delegates. So Warren will do what she will do, but I am pretty sure that she will end up endorsing Sanders. Maybe she will be Sanders’ VP choice, maybe that was promised to her, and that’s the deal which continues to benefit Sanders. A question to which I do not know the answer: Would the Warren supporters be happy enough to get her as VP choice, to support Sanders?

      • Warren vowed last night to stay in till the convention. I think all the remaining candidates are going to do the same. We won’t have a clear nominee

        • Seagrl, I am wondering if the strategy is to make sure we don’t have a clear nominee. And then people throw their support to the best-positioned non-Bernie candidate at the convention. At least, I hope so. Anyway, Biden is surging today– now #1 in Florida and 20 points ahead in SC.

  5. Ugh what a smug asshat! “He won 22 states” um and what about the 28 Hillary won not including DC, Puerto Rico etc? The rationale is so Trumpian it hurts.

  6. But but but but , Bernie is a man! And he has a right to overturn a woman getting more votes! Because 22 states! DNC rigged it!

  7. I early-voted today. Kamala Harris was still on the ballot, so I voted for her. Had she been absent from the ballot, I think I would have voted for Warren.

    • Ivory,

I like Kamala a lot too but she’s not running. Not voting for Warren who is running is only helping undermine her chances of moving ahead of sanders, biden and buttigieg. The media has already written her off and I am not going to help them continue to do it.

I don’t know if you saw Warren in the CNN townhall last, but she was, again, formidable. Her answers to the questions were clear, concise and made a hell of lot of sense. I can’t understand what is so difficult to understand that she has clearly shown herself to be the only candidate with the most detailed plans, can explain exactly how she’s going to pay for them and genuinely shows how committed she is to fighting for the middle class. She’s right that it’s not going to be easy and you better know what you’re doing because we will only get one shot at bringing the kind of transformation change that America is desperately in need of. We can f__k it up with the likes of sanders, biden or even buttigieg. Does anyone really believe that any of the top tiered men could or would ever live up to such a commitment? With them, I see only a commitment to obtaining the title and the power of the presidency, not the desire to fight to make our lives better.

Every day Warren shows that she really is the person who will get things done and won’t compromise that commitment. Why wouldn’t the majority of Americans want her for their president? The only other candidate to show that kind of commitment was Hillary.

      • I doubt it matters, as most likely no one will get a majority of delegates, and a brokered convention will nominate a candidate.

    • Ivory Bill,

  8. If Sanders wins the nomination, he’s going to have to put the frat-rat portion of his supporters on Double Secret Probation, if he wants to get those Moderate Mom votes he’ll need to beat Benedict Donald.

Note: “Frat Rat” here refers to attitudes and behavior, not necessarily to membership in a fraternity, or even to attending or having attended college.

    • That won’t happen. He’s already inverted Trump’s good-people-on-all-sides into bad-supporters-in-all-campaigns. Anyone else telling the douchebags to sit down and shut up won’t get very far.

  9. Maybe someone else can game out the reasons why Liz should or shouldn’t go after Bernie. I know, she didn’t end up looking good when she complained about Bernie sending out canvassers to “trash me” or when she brought up the discussion in which Bernie said it would be hard for a woman to win.

OTOH she WOULD eviscerate just about anyone in a head to head debate. But then, what next? Would destroying him at least in one debate encounter, allow her to overtake him in the primary? Would it split the Party and make for a Pyrrhic victory?

And does her failure to do so up till now, prove that she isn’t really playing for keeps?

I assume these are questions that keep her advisers up at night.

  10. I can’t claim credit for this, but I saw a suggestion on another blog that the coronavirus should be called “TRUMP FLU”. 😈

This is a good article on the cumulative effect Sanders’ toxic army has on those they target, especially women and other disenfranchised people.

    • The pope is an old guy. So are most of our presidential hopefuls. They are all very much at risk because they are out there shaking hands and taking selfies. Warren still runs around like a 20 year old. But Bernie, Biden, Bloomberg? They could get seriously ill. Bernie looks particularly frail and susceptible.
There’s a good possibility we will be left with the choice between Klobuchar and Buttigieg.
      That’s a scary thought. Well, I’d take Klobuchar but Buttigieg? {{shudder}}
Then there’s Trump who just got back from India. Hmmmm… there might be a silver lining here after all.

  14. I’m supposed to travel to Japan in about two weeks and not liking what I’m reading. I may cancel.

I’m one of your early PUMAs too and this year is like déjà vu all over again. I am more than done with the petulant far left.
