    • Looking forward to Senator Fetterman
I can’t wait to see him looming over tiny men Moscow Mitch and Lindsey: The GOP just canceled $10 million in fall ads for Senate in PA, AZ and WI. This is a clear sign of financial problems. Hardest hit was PA, more than $5 million in Philly alone. They’ve given up on Oz. — … Continue reading Looking forward to Senator Fetterman

    • Collapse Of Water Supply For Countries Around Tibet
Amu-Darya Watershed Tibet is a water tower; its glaciers, snow packs and lakes are the source of many of the greatest rivers in the countries around it. Two of those are the Indus river in India and Pakisatan, and the Amu-Darya which flows along the border of Afghanistan. Only YOU are strong enough to defeat Trump

That is the plural form of the pronoun YOU. Ustedes.

Stop looking for a person strong enough to beat Trump. You are never going to get his base to dislodge him as their personal bad boy. They like him to be wicked and fearsome. It doesn’t matter if his policies project weakness to the world. It doesn’t even seem to matter that he is subtly insulting them by telling them they need a strongman to protect them. We are dealing with decades of conditioning here and telling decent white guys that something is wrong with them. The Rush’s of the world emasculates them and tells them they’re weak against the world and Trump reinforces that sense of impotence. He’s there to fight the battles they are convinced are beyond their own strength.

There is nothing you can do to talk them out of this. Trust me on this. I come from a family that got hooked on destructive religions. Reason was futile. They will only come around if they feel personally betrayed.

A candidate cannot be as strong as Trump unless she gets everyone to see that they are stronger than he is. We have to stop being afraid of Trump. He’s not invincible. He just hasn’t had a critical mass of people against him to beat him down.

This isn’t rocket surgery. Pick the best candidate you can find. It’s helpful if that person has some kind of record of political accomplishment. That means one of the following people: Warren, Biden, Klobuchar and Bloomberg. (I’m just being random here).

Any one of these four people will have the clout to do the job. They are believable. They are hard working. They have a reasonable degree of personal integrity. No, they are not perfect. But they don’t have to be. They only have to be good enough.

Then everybody has to get behind them, disconnect from Facebook, figure out a way of closing yourself off from political ads, and plan to vote for that person come hell or high water. Convince everyone you know to guard themselves from Facebook, cable news and ad revenue dependent media until after the election.

It doesn’t take an Obama.

It doesn’t take a Wonder Woman.

It doesn’t take a Superman.

It doesn’t take a Jaime Lannister.

It takes strength in numbers. When YOU put YOUR strength behind one candidate, that will be strong enough to beat Trump.

Just saw this recent pic of Bernie. He does not look well here. Even if the color has been doctored by photoshop, it’s hard to disguise his frailty.

As I have noted in the past:
    90% of 28% = 25.2%

Once the nominee is picked we just need to get behind whomever it is. To me my worst nightmare would be Bernie… but he would get my vote. The bottom line is fighting the media perception of the need for a horse race.

As for Obama… would he have beaten tRump in 2016…

OF COURSE, because President Hilary Clinton would have told McConnell where to stick it when he tried to quash announcing Russian interference in the election.

      AMEN.

  2. Republicans do everything legal or illegal to win. There are stories about how they are undertaking a massive pro-Sanders effort in South Carolina. The latest poll shows Biden’s big lead almost unbelievably slipping to 25-20% over Sanders. If Sanders wins S.C.,it will be a very bad thing. And it is something that Republicans are striving to do. Republicans never sleep, they never just let the process play out. Any trick of dupe they can employ, they do. Now the Senate wants to investigate Hunter Biden, who of course did nothing illegal. They did this to Hillary for 25 years. The media plays right along with all of this.

Yes, people must stand strong, and they must do everything they can reasonably do to defeat Trump. And yes, he is far from invincible, his influence in the 2018 elections was not effective. But if we put Sanders at the top of the ticket, we are going to have to sit there and watch while Republicans pull out all of the opposition research they have bee sitting on, hoping that they get to run against him. He defended Castro and criticized JFK for not doing so. He apparently wrote something once defending George Wallace. He IDENTIFIES as a Socialist. He wrote things saying that women fantasize about being reaped by three men while they are having sex. Republicans do not have to even argue about his positions, they will destroy him via such personal attacks, with the new popular term “receipts.” And of course they’ve got the fact that he is going to take away people’s health care plans, and massively tax all sorts of people, but never says exactly how or which ones.

I think the goal right now has to be to stop Sanders from getting the nomination. If he does, we cannot save him. If I were in New Hampshire now, I’d vote for Buttigieg, because Biden is now not viable. In Nevada, as well. In South Carolina, I’d vote for Biden, because he has the best chance to beat Sanders there. Anything which will take delegates away from Sanders is a plus for our chances of ultimately beating Trump. Of course, we cannot vote in more than one state. I have the feeling that the Republicans, having done so well in gaming and cheating and using the Russians to win in 2016, are, like hardened criminals, setting things up to guarantee a win in 2020. Find a way to get Sanders the nomination, and they will win the Presidency, and keep the Senate, and make inroads in the house, because if you do not have someone strong at the top of the ticket in a presidential year, you lose downballot. We won with moderates in 2018, flipped purple districts. We will lose many of them back with Sanders. This is one of those i situations , like chess perhaps, where you can lose the game in the very first stages, and the rest of it is just playing out to the inevitable result.

The fable of “Who will put the bell ion the cat?” has always been so powerful. You know the story a bunch of mice are trying to figure some way to protect themselves against the cat. One of them has this great idea,we will get a bell, and tie it around his neck, and then when he comes around, we will hear it, and run away. They think this is a great idea, until one mouse says, “Yes, but who will put the bell on the cat?” Here, we need somebody in the debates to actively attack Sanders on his weaknesses and false promises. But no one wants to to it, because they don’t want to be attacked by the Sanders hordes. This is similar to the power Trump holds by scaring Republicans. In our case, we are letting Sanders get away with it, he almost never draws anyone’s fire.. Klobuchar has been the only one brave enough to criticize him, and even she tries to praise him while she does it. Biden has done it a little, and gets mocked for it.

Like Trump last time, Sanders could have been stopped in the earlier debates, but he is left alone. Warren has been the worst in this; she either had some kind of a pact with him, or she just likes him. “I’m with Bernie on this,” has gotten her nothing. There is a difference between the two of them, but no one gets to see it. Sanders has this one big advantage, he has his loyal core of supporters, he will always get at least 25% in every primary. Who are we going to coalesce around to get a higher percentage? I’d take almost anybody at this point, but we had better find one before the media declares Sanders the inevitable winner. The strange thing is that his showing in Iowa was not impressive, and his being almost tied with Buttigieg in one of his best states, New Hampshire, is not, either. But Carter did that kind of thing, and just kept grinding along to the nomination, because no one else could muster enough forces to beat him.

    • Well, when Elizabeth did stand up to Bernie and confronted him for lying about telling her a woman couldn’t win on national TV, she was lambasted by the media and then reported that it had “backfired” on her. I would think, William, after what we witnessed with how horribly Hillary was treated whenever she fought back and/or stood her ground against one of the boys that it would be evident why Liz, or any woman for that matter, doesn’t get into fights with any of the boys.

Until the double standards have been eradicated, women will always have to be careful how they treat the men in the race to avoid being attacked by all sides.

It must be really nice to live in a world where you are respected and even lauded for standing up for a principal or defending a belief or calling out a liar without fear of being slammed for doing so!

As long as you have a penis…

        • Does it have to be a penis? Can’t we just order a Y chromosome from some synthetic gene shop near Stanford?

          • Or just order one of these? 😈

          • As a genXXer, I’d love something like that, but only for “passing” purposes in this here supposedly free country.

ETA: TM on the GenXXer. Haven’t seen it around the intertubes yet, so claiming dibs.

  3. At this point my disappointment is that: an openly gay white male could become POTUS, before a very qualified Woman could break through the glass ceiling impose on our gender.

    • Yes, that was my thought as well. As I’ve said before, we’ll go through all demographic groups including fully raw cannibals before we get around to electing a woman.
Or maybe not. You never know.

      • RD, your comment from back then still resonates on the intertubes. Someone quoted you just the other day, wrt everyone else getting rights before just simply women.

  4. The Fully Raw Cannibals drove us crazy back in the late ’80s.

Oh wait–those were the Fine Young Cannibals. 🙂
