April fools

Just a quick post to say hi to everyone. I’ve had some pretty good weekends lately. Last weekend, my favorite Republican and I built some raised beds for a garden and have some wood we are reusing from the old raised beds for an herb garden. The weather sucked was of low quality this past weekend to do anything more productive outside but we have a lot of plans that include a second hand riding mower and a attachable bucket. There’s the added bonus of not having to use the self propelled lawn mower this year. I like to mow my lawn. Yes, it’s crazy. But it’s also brain therapy monotonous.

Yesterday, I saw Ricky Skaggs. I’m a bluegrass fan. It was so much better than I expected. The band was tight, the musicianship superb and the high lonesome harmony was haunting. If you have a chance to see Ricky Skaggs and the Kentucky Thunder, don’t pass it by. You won’t be disappointed.

Here’s one of the songs they played yesterday. It was a Stanley Brothers original. The vocals are beautiful.

Be back later, y’all.
