IED found at Clinton home

Just saw this:

So much for the left’s angry mobs. We don’t have a bomb making unit.

  1. Domestic terrorism is real and very frightening. There is no question in my mind that Trump has unleashed more of it than ever before. Nazis of all types have been emboldened. Once the demons are unleashed, they cannot be easily stopped. The one thing the Trump people haven’t done yet, but will, is create the equivalent of the Reichstag fire, and use it to their ends. Trump and Pence jump out and condemn these multiple pipe bombs, but their rhetoric has caused it. As bad as the Bush era was, this kind of thing was not prevalent.

    Oh, do not watch Andrea Mitchell, who is apparently doing everything she can to blame “violence on both sides,” and seemingly is far more concerned about the pipe bomb sent to CNN, than the other ones. Now we have Mike Pence coming on to applause, to make some kind of fulsome denunciation. Such statements after the fact do very little good. Praising a Republican candidate who slammed a reporter to the ground; all the chants of “lock her up” (last night in Texas (Ted Cruz smiled when the crowed chanted “lock him up” referring to Beto O’Rourke, and said that well, there already is a cell waiting for Hillary, so they may have to double up);, the endless remarks about the media being “the enemy of the people,” the unceasing viciousness coming from the White House directed toward Democrats; calling them “the mob,” was almost guaranteed to cause this. The insane Far Right denizens are claiming that the Democrats caused this to gain sympathy. That tells us what a terrifying world of mirrors and distortion we are living in, in the United States. Virtually all of it created by The Far Right and by the Russians

    As I wrote this, Mitchell did at least defend George Soros a bit, which is something. Then she talks about Donna Shalala, who might have also received a pipe bomb, saying that “she is under fire in the campaign, for being out of touch with the Hispanic community” ???? Following the story is interesting, but the horror of what is behind it, is the real story. And there is Hillary speaking, being cut off by the media again. Want to bet that Trump will have a two hour press conference or rally which will be covered wall to wall? Anything he can try to turn this to his advantage.

  2. The “let’s all be civil,” “A person upsetting McConnell or Cruz’s dinner is equivalent to someone sending pipe bombs,” is pathetic, even if well meant. It is a reflection of the twisted logic which predominates. And people’s healthcare is going to be taken away if Republicans win, irrespective of any of the dialogue about the pipe bombs. This is not a TV show with fun twists and turns, it is reality. Being polite is nice. Not violently attacking other people is is very important. But this is not both sides, let’s all work together, time. The Republicans make it impossible. No pipe bombs and no healthcare is not a fair tradeoff. They can find the culprits here, but there will be more. In the meantime, the election will be held, and the results will matter as much as in any time in our history. If the media were ever to stop these ludicrous “both sides” narratives, we would be taking a small step back to a rational society.

    • The Corporate Media–“mainstream” as well as wingnut–must be destroyed.

      Bring back the Fairness Doctrine, and use the anti-trust laws to break up the media conglomerates.

      As long as lying is useful, and is not punished, there will be lying.

      • William and Ivory Bill Woodpecker,

        I completely agree with you both.

        One of Obama’s signal failures (i.e., notable) was not having a new Fairness Doctrine imposed.

        The old Fairness Doctrine required television or radio stations to provide an opportunity for opposing viewpoints to be expressed. With stations such as Faux, which is all opinion masquerading as news, there should be a requirement for a percentage of content to offer the opposing viewpoint. If Faux is 100% opinion, then 30% (or a reasonable amount) should be liberal opinion.

        Since the sale of Tribune media to Sinclair broadcasting failed, why didn’t a consortium of liberals come together to buy it? It was recently reported that another conservative buyer is looking into purchasing it.

  3. They are chanting ‘lock her up’ at the mention of Clinton’s name at trump’s rally tonight. Vote these mfers out!

  4. You have Bill Ayers. I bet he still remembers how to do it.

  5. MAGA Maggie can’t quite simply say “Trump and his personal phones” are being listened to by our adversaries. ‘Her emails” were a problem but trump can discuss anything on his personal phone that everybody is listening to. Fuck her!

  6. Yeah, what is the doofus saying here?

  7. MAGA Maggie would not hesitate to do this:

    • Check the replies. They are Hilarious and some are apt, like this one:

      Ishcabibbles @Ishcabibbles83 8h
      Replying to @Patrickesque

      Maggie Haberman: “Can the Democratic Party survive if it continues to alienate mail bombers?”

    • Actually, the tweet above is a joke but this tweet below is not a joke. This is NYT actually writing about the bomb scare at Clintons’ house.

  8. Show this to people/journolisters when they say Hillary was a bad candidate.

  9. motherfucker trump made himself into a victim at his rally today.

  10. Gillum is good!

  11. He is responsible for the words he utters. They were still chanting ‘lock her up’ tonight at his rally, for god’s sake.

  12. Joe Biden says “the country must come together.” No. I am certainly sorry that some insane right-wing person or persons sent a bomb to his house, and he has every right to say anything he wants. But this country cannot come together, any more than someone who has been pummeled in a fight, kicked in the teeth, stomped on with hobnail boots, and is lying virtually senseless on the ground, is supposed to respond favorably if his assailant says, “Well, okay, now let’s stop this and come together.”

    The country is virtually ruined. People are an inch away from losing their healthcare. Are the Republicans going to stop trying to take it away from them? No. Are they going to not try to make drastic cuts to Medicare and Social Security? Absolutely not. Are they going to suddenly take an interest in helping the environment? No, they are going to do more to try to destroy it. Are they going to give up efforts to suppress votes and gerrymander every district? No, they will accentuate them. They’ve already got the Supreme Court for the next 40 years, and most of the Federal Courts now, too, particularly if the next Democrat President spends his or her time trying to mollify them. Come together and do what? This does not work. This just papers over the wound. We cannot have a civil war, but we also cannot be so foolish and pretentious that we think that being really, really nice to the Republicans, and trying to compromise with them, is going to accomplish anything significant. We tried that for eight years, lost almost every seat imaginable, and here we are. How we somehow fight our way out of this pit of misery, I am not sure, but it is not going to be by pretending that things will be okay if we just reach out a hand to the people who want to destroy us and the democracy. Actually, the only way that we might somehow restore things, is if Republicans were such anathema, that they would be put out of power for several decades. Let them back in, and they’ll go right back to destroying everything. So speaking just for myself, I do not want to hear essentially meaningless things like “the country must come together.” That might have sounded okay in some past era, but it is fruitless now.

    • So speaking just for myself, I do not want to hear essentially meaningless things like “the country must come together.”

      Sounds like you speak for a lot of us William… THANKS

  13. Come together, nah, that wacko chanting to do violence against Clinton at the Nationalist rally last night removes any benefit of a doubt I might have carried that his cult members didn’t understand the consequences of their vitriol violent rants. BTW Representative Gabby Gifford’s went before the Republican ball game 13 injured 6 killed her attacker also mentally ill incited by far-right conspiracy.
    And please, it is a waste of time to listen or discuss the Nationalist intentions, he has an extreme personality disorder he has one possible response to this terrorism: these people are targeted enemies who rejected him and therefore deserve those bombs and aren’t I so very powerful to have such a loyal fan to carry out my revenge. It is so far past time for excuses about his behaviors or deflecting, redefining or downplaying his intent. He is absolutely inciting violence against people who won’t worship his greatness and has a known violent record of assault against his first wife.

  14. And yet they persisted:
    Terroristic Threat Law and Legal Definition
    A terroristic threat is a crime generally involving a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another, to cause evacuation of a building, or to cause serious public inconvenience, in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience. It may mean an offense against property or involving danger to another person that may include but is not limited to recklessly endangering another person, harassment, stalking, ethnic intimidation, and criminal mischief.
    The following is an example of a Texas statute dealing with terroristic threats:
    (a) A person commits an offense if he threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property with intent to:
    1. cause a reaction of any type to his threat[s] by an official or volunteer agency organized to deal with emergencies;
    2. place any person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury;
    3. prevent or interrupt the occupation or use of a building; room; place of assembly; place to which the public has access; place of employment or occupation; aircraft, automobile, or other form of conveyance; or other public place;
    4. cause impairment or interruption of public communications, public transportation, public water, gas, or power supply or other public service;
    5. place the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury; or
    6. influence the conduct or activities of a branch or agency of the federal government, the state, or a political subdivision of the state.

  15. In response to a question by Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh says “no one” is above the law.

  16. with all the other fuckery, we have this. Look at the blank stare. Does he know who she is?

  17. Add Biden (and De Niro) to the list.

    When you read this list, …

    • Yet trump was able to hold a rally last night where his crazy supporters chanted ‘lock her up’ and made himself into a victim, Kasich comes on Brian and says Hillary, Holder, and others on the Dem side are also to blame. What? Why?!

      • Right, if you are a Dem who exercises your first amendment right, you should expect to be threatened, terrorized, maligned, locked up or blown up. If however you are a Rethug, you can do or say anything you want, especially if such acts are in the service of trump or the glorious party, and thereby secure your place above the law. Kasich is supposed to be a “good” republican, sensible and pragmatic, that many hope will run in 2020. Right now, 2020 is looking like a one horse race, possibly the last one.

      • that’s Kasich another both siderism goof, CNN should hire him it’s autopilot, he sounds like a fool trying to act all reasonable it’s an act. Oh Oh TRump has really really ugly orange balding hair but but Hillary’s is windblown.

        • LOL, peep! Nicole Wallace adores him, but then she adores the Bushes too. He hasn’t been on MSNBC for awhile, thank the gods.
