The Confluence 
1. 11 or so members of the House Freedom Caucus signed articles of impeachment against Rod Rosenstein. But this will never hit the floor of the House to be voted on, as it has little support.
2. Long -time Trump accountant Alan Weisselberg was subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury by the SDNY. Supposedly he would know all the secrets of Trump’s financial dealings, but who knows what he will divulge. There is very little accountant-client privilege under the law, which is good.
3. Republicans are trying to destroy the Endangered Species Act, attempting to do so before the midterms. These people are wholly evil; they would burn the country and planet down if corporations could make a few billion more dollars out of it. Comparing this with the passage of this Act, where only four House members voted against it back in the ’70’s under Nixon, shows us the horrifying devolution of the Republican Party into a completely malevolent force.
4. Recent polls are good; Marist Poll shows Trump with low ratings in MI, MN, WI. Of course that is now; and that doesn’t necessarily translate into the midterms. But I am confident that Franken would have won re-election in MN had he not been hounded into resignation. Hopefully, Democrats can win the governor’s races in WI and MI. Also, in an early poll in TN, former Democratic governor Phil Bredesen leads his opponent for Senator by a few points. If he can win, it is not impossible that Democrats could win the Senate. We need to gain two seats and hold all the red state seats held by Democrats.
5 . It seems almost conceded that Kavanaugh will be confirmed, based on the fact that Manchin and I think Tester have agreed to meet with him. You wrote about this before; that maybe it is not a winnable fight. He will be an awful Justice, though, maybe worse than Scalia, who at least favored the First Amendment.
6. It is around 108 in parts of Los Angeles. Last year was the hottest late July in history here, now it apparently it is this one. . I do not understand why global warming is not brought up every day by the media and by Democrats.
He is lying about EVERYTHING now and pointing to media that they are writing what he says happened which are lies… (his Iowa/Illinois speech today).
