Steve Bannon: Donald Trump’s former chief of staff is planning to set up a foundation in Brussels to support right-wing, anti-establishment groups in the run-up to the European Parliament election. Steve Bannon said in a wide-ranging interview with the Daily Beast that he wants to unite powers on the right end of the political spectrum. […]

    • How Unpopular Is Trump?
Not very, unfortunately. NBC/WSJ POLL: Donald Trump’s approval rating has risen to 45%, with disapproval at 52%. Among Republicans, 88% approve. That’s the highest intra-party rating of any president at this stage since the dawn of modern polling, except Bush post-9/11.https://t.co/vqbr6iReCr pic.twitter.com/K9lUmJbXv8 — Sahil Kapur (@sahilkapur) July 23, 20 […]

  1. Follow the money. Who is profiting off this immigration chaos? He will get is cut but who will benefit from the money poured over building the fucking wall? Who is making money off of building these cages for kids?

Media is still a problem. I heard Alison Cameratta bringing up Schumer for not wanting to negotiate under these circumstances and scolding him for it in front of her guest Coons who was explaining to her his bill that had the funding for the wall but trump and co rejecting it. trump will reject any deal because he is relishing creating this monstrosity. Like Maddow said last night, they want THIS! and this to continue.

  2. This needs to happen on a massive scale. Sane GOP (if there is such a thing) need to say they are American, not Trumpian (to quote RD) and leave the party. Set an example, start an exodus.

  3. This is brave. I hope he heard it.

    • It’s juvenile and ineffective. I’m sure it felt good, but it was wholly unproductive – just like Peter Fonda’s rants.

      • I advise you not to visit Wonkette, then. We do indulge in that sort of thing there. 😉

  4. The future?

  5. Speaking of Americans:

Samuel Tom Holiday, one of the last of the “Navajo Code Talkers”, died June 11, aged 94.

The Japanese never broke the Navajo code. I’ll bet their cryptographers drove themselves baka trying to do it. 😈

Semper Fi, Mr. Holiday. May you rest in peace in Raspberry Heaven.

    • Well, the link isn’t registering, but I clicked the broken-picture icon and it did take me to the story.

    • Kitsutsuki-san wa nihongo o hanishimasen, to omoimasu.

“Baka” is a noun. I think the word you’re looking for it “kichigai”.

      • I thought baka was both noun and adjective, but then, I have never formally studied the language. I only know what bits and pieces I have picked up from my interest in WW2 naval battles, and my later interest in Japanese cartoons.

        • I recognize tsuki, “moon”, and nihongo, “Japanese”, along with the honorific suffix -san. Is kitsu “fox”? I know that a kitsune is a legendary fox spirit.

  8. So two House republicans pushed back hard on trump lie…

  9. Sweet Jesus, even though we dropped two atomic bombs, help us. Because if you help us, you help the world.

  10. If you’re up late and know people in NYC, get them out to La Guardia! Detained immigrant kids are arriving into the late morning to be sent to foster homes. Protest is growing.

Admin is moving fast bc they can only hold the 2,300 kids for 20 days, and apparently want them to disappear ASAP and never be reunited with their parents again.

Original plan Kelly discussed in 2017 was for “church groups” to foster the children.

Kids have been sent to 17 states already.

    • I heard on TRMS from last night that the airlines are refusing to let their planes to be used for the purpose of transporting separated children to places around the country. It started with American Airlines and spread and still spreading.
Yesterday, PA governor joones other governors in saying that PA national guard would not be sending units to the border to help the border patrol detain asylum seekers and separate their children from them.
But I have to wonder about these church charities that are offering to do this foster care work. Aren’t they also going to be tarnished as collaborators? Then there are companies in bed with Trump who have contracts to set up camps in the Texas desert with tents and no air conditioning in the summer for detainees. Now those tent cities will be used to hold families together in the sweltering heat until these asylum seekers are prosecuted and returned to whence they came.
Why isn’t Trump attacking the problem at its source by stepping up diplomatic and security forces in Central America??
      Oh, that’s right. Trump doesn’t do diplomacy. It’s a sissy thing. 🙄

      • I wonder about the church groups, as well. Some, like the Lutherans and Jewish community, are actively trying to contact the kids’ actual parents, running into loads of confusion, but still trying. But the evangelicals???

Airlines: American, United, Southwest, Frontier have said NO. Delta said they don’t like it, but they haven’t said no. Alaska & Jet Blue silent as of earlier this afternoon.
