Nicole Wallace was a Republican until 2016

Nicole Wallace was the communications director for the Bush White House. Keep that in mind. Bush was a typical conservative Republican who up until Trump was one of the worst president we ever had. I’m not just saying that. Presidential historians rank him at or near the bottom for a variety of reasons, mostly because of the catastrophic Iraq War, the financial crisis of 2007, and various other bad things including that 9/11 happened on his watch. Remember George Tenet running around with his “hair on fire” trying to get Bush to pay attention to the PDB that said in big bold letters “Osama bin Laden determined to strike the United States“? Who could forget Condoleeza Rice being dragged in front of the 9/11 Commission and made to say that on the TeeVee?

Ah, yes, good ol’ George. I almost get wistful for those days.

Then I snap out of it because this kind of behavior seems all too typical of Republicans: callousness, carelessness, looking out for themselves…

Anyway, so Nicole Wallace worked for THAT White House. Then, something happened in 2016 and she changed her party affiliation to Independent. I can’t put my finger on what it was. Wait, it will come to me. Oh, yes, now I remember. It was when the MAGA cult installed the boss of a crime family (think the Corleones but with less class) in the White House.

Wallace went to MSNBC not too long ago. And who better to interpret the inner workings of a Republican White House. In the following, she brings up a very important point. Let’s listen in, shall we?

I am starting a new rule: it’s only fake if no one is arrested, charged, indicted, pleads guilty, or has his premises raided by the FBI.

Rule two: if you do something bad, you are not allowed to blame the other party for investigating you. Especially if the investigators are not from the other party.

Ok, that’s two rules. But they’re good ones.

Stay Tuned with Preet dropped early today. His interview this week is with Jeh Johnson, the secretary of DHS under Obama. Before the interview, Preet takes questions from listeners and this week, this segment starts to hone in on just what this raid on Cohen’s Office is about and why it is not improper to refer to Trump’s personal lawyer as his consigliere. There are things about mafia ways of doing business that I didn’t catch when I watched The Godfather. But I get it now.

Once you get it, it’s very difficult to unsee it. Go ahead, Niles. Listen to this podcast and see if you are not enlightened.

You gotta wonder if all these MAGA people would have deliberately voted him in if they’d known what kind of boss he truly is. All the crazy tweets, all the lack of policies, all the constitutional violations, they all make sense in the right context. And it’s also significant that it’s Mueller as special counsel and the southern district of NY that is now investigating. It’s all coming together.

  1. The magats still would have voted for Trump even if they knew this was going to happen. They never cared about policy because he had none. All he had were silly talking points.

I was thinking the last 18 years in this country have been just insane. We had the supreme court in an election, a doofus who blew up the middle east and collapsed the economy. Obama who was too afraid to stand up to the GOP therefore emboldening them. So here we are. Are we going to get back to some common sense in 2020? I sure hope so.

    • In many ways this Russia investigation and Mueller has given him the distraction he needs to obscure who he really is — an incompetent mfer. People who know little about him but only as a TV celebrity find it hard to believe he is a mob boss or acts like one in his life. Imagine if there were no Russia and no investigation, his incompetence, corruption, malevolence, and all other ugly things that he is would be on display. He would also have done more damage too. The investigation has kept him in check.

  2. Nicole Wallace was also on Palin’s campaign (as was her doppelganger Schmidt) and saw from up close the growing underbelly of present day trump republicans.

  3. Hey, why am I in moderation?! 🙂 This is still my first comment of the day, joking…

  4. NYT Editorial on Apr. 10, two days ago:

This is your president, ladies and gentlemen. This is how Donald Trump does business, and these are the kinds of people he surrounds himself with.

Mr. Trump has spent his career in the company of developers and celebrities, and also of grifters, cons, sharks, goons and crooks. He cuts corners, he lies, he cheats, he brags about it, and for the most part, he’s gotten away with it, protected by threats of litigation, hush money and his own bravado. Those methods may be proving to have their limits when they are applied from the Oval Office. Though Republican leaders in Congress still keep a cowardly silence, Mr. Trump now has real reason to be afraid. A raid on a lawyer’s office doesn’t happen every day; it means that multiple government officials, and a federal judge, had reason to believe they’d find evidence of a crime there and that they didn’t trust the lawyer not to destroy that evidence.

  5. Nicolle admitted on at least one of her shows that she voted for Hillary in 2016. She also admitted that she smoked dope in college and when she told the FBI as part of her security vetting, she cried; she felt so guilty and was sure she lost the job by being honest about her sinful ways! I love her, she is one of my favorite MSNBC personalities.

    • I like her too. I wish many on the left and Dem side instead of bickering among themselves were united and as outraged as her and Schmidt at trump.

    • MSNBC should give Chris Mathews’ slot to Nicole Wallace.

  6. Nicolle Wallace quit being a Republican the moment she betrayed Sarah Palin. Now she makes her living bashing Republicans.

    • Why am I in moderation?

      • Nevermind.

        • Lol! I’m rather liberal when it comes to approving comments. I have hope for you Niles. You’re still coming here, subjecting yourself to us. You either have a very strong stomach or deep down inside, the real Niles is starting to loosen his straitjacket and spit out his gag. He’s trying to tell you something, Niles. That’s how it starts.

    • Not all republicans, she loves Kasich, Steele, Jolly, Schmidt, Bush, and Heilman to name a few. Do you find all republicans, especially those currently in office, undeserving of “bashing?” Have you ever watched her show?

  7. Jack Sullivan, Hillary’s Foreign Policy guy is excellent on Chris Hayes’ show about Comey. I agree with him that Comey’s book does nothing to help us with the clusterfuck we have staring in our face.

  8. How appropriate!

  9. Important that we remember this!

  10. Ruh-roh!

    • Prediction: Somebody will call this obstruction of justice on the theory that Trump is sending a message to any potential witnesses that they don’t have to fear prison.

      • Your guy makes George Bush look ethical and like a statesman. Bush refused to pardon Libby.

  11. Nicolle just told Rachel that pardoning Libby and Fox’s war room against Comey and Mueller are preparing the country for pardons of everyone indicted in trump’s “criminal organization.”

  12. Cheeto Benito can’t pardon state-level convictions. 😈

  13. Off topic: Alice Margatroid and her favorite animated doll, Shanghai, from the Touhou game universe.

  14. Absolutely, most would still have voted for him, because it’s not about Trump at all, it’s all about hate, hate of others, hate of others success, hate of others happiness, hate of others smarts, hate of others real goodness, their religion is hate and that defines their opinions which defines their politics.

Who cares MV, Deplorable Don’s pathetic pardon of Libby, is a comical desperate petty act which only reinforces his limp insignificance. So, he pardons them all, they will be required to plead guilty, then that plea will be used against them when A.G. Schneiderman files his charges. And cherry, by pardoning his co-conspirators DDD will have committed Obstruction and Fraud against the United States. BOW!

  15. I would totally do that. LOL. I do it a lot as is. My hubs and I hold hands and skip a few footsteps in plain sight sometimes on sidewalks or Crescent Trail…Just let it all go and feel good in that one or two moments.

  16. Mike Murphy said Comey was a narcissist for having done this book now which does not help us deal with what we have on our hands. I agree.

  17. LMAO!

  18. Who the hell is buying Comey’s book? I don’t think it is the Hillary supporters (a majority of voters).

    • An awful lot of copies were “leaked” prior to publication. The book i really wanted to hear more about was Russian Roulette, which got buried for some reason.
