    • Starbucks helps widen the great divide
Headline from a opinion piece by a lifelong black resident of Philadelphia: “Starbucks wasn’t created for black folks, it was made to push us out.” The piece appeared this week in response to the widely reported arrest of two young black men at a Starbucks in Philly’s affluent Rittenhouse Square section. Overdressing

Some of my favorite YouTube channels are created by seamstresses who do costumes. These dresses and costumes are works of art.

Today, for something completely different, I’m sharing a video from Izabella of PriorAttire who takes us through 60 years of Victorian fashion. I’d want to shoot myself if I had to put this many layers of clothing on each day just to go outside. But these dresses are beautiful and each detail is executed to perfection. If I’m not mistaken, Izabella does costume work for television productions as well. Stunning.

A new interior design trend lately is modern Victorian. It’s hard to believe two styles could be less alike. It features more floral and layering and some modern lines. No thank you. It’s still too much MUCH. I want to get rid of stuff.
