Which reminded me of a post I wrote in November 2016. Holy Snot, I called it. Bannon always fancied himself as Trump’s Thomas Cromwell, looking after the populace for the populist. But we all know what happened to Cromwell when he tried to push his agenda too hard and ticked off the aristocrats, right? (Spoiler alert for those of you who haven’t seen The Tudors: he loses his head in a particularly messy and gruesome decapitation scene)
Who knows if Bannon is telling the truth about whether Trump’s actions are treasonous. Do they meet the high crimes definition of treason? Maybe not technically since we are not officially at war with Russia. Do they meet the misdemeanor definition of an impeachable offense? Yeah, probably.
Other things probably true: Don Jr told Daddy all about it. Fer sure. And Bannon had a chance to tell the FBI before the Australian Ambassador did so what’s THAT all about? Hmmm, Steverino?
What does it matter. They are eating their own. The wheels are coming off the clown car. It’s a travesty wrapped in a farce and it is OUR country, not some 2nd world failed state with a Baby Doc Duvalier wannabe dictator.
Jeez, how did we come to this?
