I read that you told Jake Tapper that you agreed that the 2016 primary was rigged for Hillary Clinton based on things Donna Brazile said. By the way, even Donna Brazile says the primary wasn’t rigged but she was shocked *SHOCKED!!* that the only Democrat who was running last year for the Democratic Party nomination was also the person who bailed out that same party with her own personal money.
The 2016 primary wasn’t rigged. The 2008 primary was. Here’s what that rigging looked like when the DNC rules committee voted to give Barack Obama 54 unpledged delegates from Michigan after taking his name off the ballot resulted in him losing the primary to Hillary Clinton. Let’s watch, shall we?
Hillary Clinton went to the Denver Convention trailing Obama by a statistically insignificant number of votes, all of them the product of the rules committee decision, and didn’t even get the courtesy of an unrigged floor vote. She won the popular vote then too.
Where were you in 2008? I can guarantee you that every Hillary voter in 2008 has that Rules committee meeting etched in their minds forever, especially since many of us were forced to vote for that ladder climbing, self absorbed corporate schmoozer in November 2008.
We worked our asses off last year for Hillary in the primaries where she also took all of the big blue states. Bernie has lost all of my respect at this point. He needs to sit down and STFU. And you and the other Dems need to remember to dance with the ones who brung ya’. That was us, the forgotten, ignored, denigrated but now, really enraged Clinton supporters.

I don’t recall Mr. Sanders declaring himself as a Democrat at any time during the campaign. From what I understand, the DNC was broke (thank you Mr. Obama) and the Clintons stepped up to guarantee the funding that was needed even to mount a campaign. AND, just to remind everyone, HRC won more votes to win the nomination (and, of course, the actual election). AND, just to remind everyone, the only possible candidates to run as a Democrat were Sanders (HRC beat him) and O’Malley (who?). So……. AND HRC was the most qualified person to ever run for POTUS in my (long) lifetime.
BTW – my husband and I will never support any future Dem candidate who comes out of the Sanders/Brazile/Warren faction. Never. And since we will never vote for a Republican that means the Democrats have lost two more voters – forever.

I remember meeting Obama type strategists at YearlyKos in 2006-2007. They were all too willing to write off the south. I was there when an egghead type proposed that strategy and Mudcat Saunders told him it was an outrageous losing strategy that was going to alienate voters. But it was also clear that working class people were also felt to be not worth their trouble. They had the numbers to get Obama elected and carefully chose race over gender. But they fucked us all in the end. By the time the housing bubble collapsed, Dennis Kucinich could have gotten elected. All we wanted was a Democrat. Instead, we got Obama, lifeguard in charge.

Well, RD, there is a lot to unpack here. First of all we were right in 2008 that Obama would be nothing short of a disaster for the party and time and time again that has proven true. Too bad it wasn’t enough for Hillary to overcome.
Let’s talk about recent revelations. Obama left the DNC in the hole for 24 million smackers. I have no idea how Brazile did not know that but let’s take her word that she didn’t. Why isn’t the fact that Obama completely screwed up on that account the story instead of the supposed “rigging”.
Obama completely doffed the whole Russian thing. He let the Russians get a foothold and then when he found out what they were doing he SAID NOTHING. He let Mitch McConnell dictate to him. The odious Mitch McConnell. What exactly was the point of him being president if he was going to let the GOP dictate to him what on earth he should be doing?
We all know how disastrous the midterms were. At least now we know one of the reasons and that is because basically Obama didn’t lift much of a finger to help anyone in the party.
Lastly those who are throwing their lot in with Bernie are nothing short of fools. Bernie is not going to come out unscathed through all of this and I think the party knows this hence he has a Democratic challenger in Vermont. First of all Bernie’s campaign manager worked with Manafort in the Ukraine for the Pro Putin candidate. Secondly Bernie is under investigation for bank fraud. Yes, this is another case of the GOP abusing the justice system to go after political opponents but it would have been nice if Mr. Purity Progressive had given Hillary the same benefit of the doubt.
Ellison needs to resign his leadership role in the DNC. Nobody shopping the whole rigged narrative needs to be in leadership. As far as Warren, well, I will leave her to the voters in MA to deal with her.
