    • The Class War the Rich Won And the End Of NeoLiberal Capitalism
Many years ago now, I wrote a post called “There Was a Class War And %he Rich Won.” Ironically, post the financial meltdown of 07/8, and thanks to Bush, Obama, Bernanke and Geithner both bailing them out and immunizing them from their crimes, that victory has accelerated. This chart, from Harvard, tells the story of […]

Stride: Children, Wake Up

Hold your mistake up…

IBW pointed me to this post on Wonkette about what if Hillary had only *warned* us about those neo-nazi racist sexist @$$holes who were supporting Trump??

Here’s an excerpt from her speech last summer that everyone thought was ridiculously over the top:

“I know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don’t get complacent, don’t see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think, well, he’s done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.”

“But the other basket — and I know this because I see friends from all over America here — I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they’re in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”

There’s nothing worse that a woman who is right. Men just can’t take it. It doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum they are on. That’s what this all comes down to. A lot of guys felt discomfort and resentment about electing a woman. Women are always to be regarded with suspicion. Any mistake they make is 10 times worse than anything their male opponent could ever do. They can’t be as smart as they sound. There has got to be a different set of brains behind her face that aren’t hers.

Right, guys? You know I am.

It wasn’t the deplorables who got Trump elected. It was the media, the Bernie Bros, the reluctant male independent. They’re the ones who let the evil out of Pandora’s box.

Pandora only took the blame.

  1. The faux news watchers only know about the content of the first paragraph.

  2. What was the media SPIN on this speech then? Were they correct to spin it the way they did (of course not)? How much remorse do they feel for releasing this evil into this civil society?

Aside: Portuguese guy on the bus in Santorini said his friends in NYC like the buffoon. Hope they couldn’t vote.

  3. Bravo, Riverdaughter! You hit the nail on the head, AGAIN. Hillary was right and the guys knew it back then, they just couldn’t accept that the timely and correct warning came from a woman.

To this day, I cannot understand why a majority of men (and worse the women who enable them) still have such inexplicable fear about women and power. Why would they be willing to let a narcissistic, racist, sexist, xenophobic, authoritarian, incompetent nut job like trump into the WH, knowing she was light years ahead of him in qualifications for the job? It doesn’t make sense that they would rather put our nation at great risk than accept the better candidate, which happened to be a woman.

  4. I am so mad right now. Furious. Enraged. My husband and I are going for a walk by the ocean in the howling wind. George Washington = Robert E. Lee?

When are the Republicans going to stand up en masse and bring this White Supremacist down? When is Trump just going to say it, “my daddy was KKK and my grandpa before him.”

GOP in 11 states calling for a 9/5 end to DACA, which has graduated 800K smart young people so far & helped them to contribute to our economy. They’re in a hurry, suddenly.

  5. And above all, above even Vladimir (Madoka Forgive Me But I Hope He Ends Up Like Mussolini) Putin, blame all those voluntary non-voters who just couldn’t be bothered to vote because Both Sides yadda yadda yadda.

  6. A suggestion for the “Both Sides” propaganda trope:
