    • Five Hundred Million Dollar Negative Yield Bond Issued
No, central banks aren’t screwing the economy up with their purchases: Veolia (Paris:VIE) has issued a 500 million 3-year EUR bond (maturity November 2020) with a negative yield of -0.026 %, which is a first for a BBB issuer. Stride – Blonde Moment

It’s windy today downtown, blowing the slit in my linen skirt open as I walk to the bus stop. The dress is long and the slit only goes up to my knees but the warm air feels delicious. Like someone is breathing on my legs.

I’m listening to ABBA, keeping time…

I’m subscribed to some Meetup groups and recently received this message from one of them. Item B caught my attention (names changed to protect the innocent):

Hey everyone,
Justin here. I just wanted to pass along some information.
A) this is a reminder that the social night meetup has been rescheduled for July 11th since today is the 4th. Hope to see you all there.
B) reminder that as a result of the Shrimp Boil event there will be no August lecture.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me here.
Thank you

So I replied back and asked if everyone was OK. Was it an Old Bay accident??

Then the meeting organizer asked me if I was SURE I wanted to send that to all 1641 members on the email list.

Some people have no sense of humor.
There’s another event tonight on Rope Tying. Was seriously thinking on going to this one, because you never know when you’re going to need to know how to tie a proper knot with your 6mm natural fiber rope.

But I’m business casual today and I didn’t know the dress code.

I don’t want anyone there to get the wrong impression or make them uncomfortable… without their consent.

Fareed Zakaria applies the wrong medicine to an accurate diagnosis:

Yes, yes, let’s all start identifying with the hostage takers.

More on this later.
