  1. I’m going to learn Orphan Girl by Gillian Welch for my first song on my guitar. Three chords.
    Piece of cake, right?

  2. I learned an Indian stringed instrument (Veena) in my 20s. My older sister was the musical prodigy in our family and she is pretty good, concert quality. She didn’t like I had forayed into her territory — sibling rivalry. It was from her teacher as well and the teacher was pretty impressed when I manipulated the scale around a different base note and flipped everything with one composition — she said ‘you are good in math, it is easy for you.’ Anyway, my foray didn’t last long and my sister still rules as the family’s musician par excellence.

There are many Spanish composers for guitar that I like but this one is my all time favorite:

Joaquin Rodrigo, Concierto de Aranjuez and especially Adagio. @ 3:38+ mark that stretch makes cry always.

  3. Off-topic: Turn off the Bat-Signal. 😦

    Adam West dies at 88.

  4. That Bernie Sanders is like a piece of gum stuck to your shoes, isn’t he? FUCK.BERNIE.SANDERS.
