    • And The Mass Evictions are ON
      So, the evictions moratorium expired Saturday at midnight. Over a quarter of renters are behind in some states, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities think-tank. Southern states are some of the worst affected, though some 16 percent of US households owed rent — about double the amount before the pandemic. This wasn’t necessary, but the choi […]

Second Acts…

… need happy endings.

“We betray our true selves when we do not follow our heart’s desire for what the heart is attracted to is our destiny”

– Leon Brown

Good Morning!

  1. Melon and prosciutto for breakfast.
    Siracha tofu for lunch. Not quite as orgasmic but still pretty good. Love the buzz.

  2. “Are you doing what your heart desires, or living up to society’s expectations, what friends and family think?
    Because the moment you start doing what you love, what you truly feel in your heart, all your cells start working for you” -Ralph Smart.

  3. “let’s get away from all the clever humans who put words in our mouth let’s only say what our hearts desire”

  4. “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

    H.L. Mencken

    Just had to throw that one in.

  5. “When men hate or blame you, or say hurtful things about you, look deeply into their hearts and see what kind of men they are. You’ll see how unnecessary it is to strain after their good opinion. Yet you must still think kindly of them. they are your neighbors. The gods help them as they do you, by dreams and oracles, to win their hearts’ desires.”

    – Marcus Aurelius

  6. OT, I just got a new hybrid lens for my eye. I had a corneal transplant years ago and have a severe astigmatism. The hybrid is RGP in the middle and a soft lens skirt. The sucker is YUGE. Takes me forever to get it in my eye.
    Anyway, it comes with a H2O2 sterilizing chamber. I’m just watching it bubble away. Cool.

  7. I love this one:

    “Your radiance shines
    in every atom of creation
    yet our petty desires keep it hidden.”

    – Rumi

    Rumi is starting to grow on me. Must get other Sufi quotes…

  8. “But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
    To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
    To know the pain of too much tenderness.
    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
    And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
    To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
    To rest at noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
    To return home at eventide with gratitude;
    And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise on your lips.”
    -Khalil Gibran

  9. Two stars that shine on the darkest night
    They wait for you and me
    Two stars are we, finding gravity
    Against our destiny
    And if you must chase fire
    Then I will chase fire, too
    Across the frozen miles
    I’l radiate to you
    Historians of the universe
    I’ll share my fate with you
    For now I’ll wait, while these tiny days
    Are thrown away too soon
    You know you’re just like me
    You know you ‘re just like me
    ‘You breathe the air I breathe
    You dream the dreams I dream
    One sunny day, I ‘ll just slip away
    To leave my fate to you
    Two stars are we, locked in history
    Across the centuries
    I’ll radiate to you
    I’ll radiate to you
    Two stars that shine on the darkest night

    “Two Stars’ by The Perfect English Weather, from the album, “Isobar Blues” Written by Simon Pickles, sung by Wendy Pickles

    • Oh! I love that. Now I’ll have to go find the song.

      CNN notification now: Scott Pruitt just approve to dismantle the EPA.

      • I’m glad you liked it. The Perfect English Weather is a side project of Wendy and Simon of the Popguns. The album just came out, their first. The Popguns are an incredibly great group which never became famous, as they should have. Wendy has one of the loveliest singing voices I have ever heard in the pop/rock world. This song virtually brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I am sure he wrote it for them.

        It’s pouring rain outside in Los Angeles, which is great. I love the rain. But the power is out! Listening to the rain, one can almost forget that Pruitt and others are going to try to destroy the environment. All this other Trump stuff about the media, is a distraction. maybe intentional, from what the Congress and Executive Branch want to do in regard to civil rights and environmental protection.
