    • Cambridge Analytica, FaceBook And Inevitable Abuses That Inevitably Happen
So, you’re probably aware of the furor over Cambridge Analytica. They scraped Facebook’s database, and used the psychological information to craft their campaign. They have also been caught on tape admitting they do dirty tricks like honey traps, and propaganda (knowing lies). And there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth. First of all, it […]

FIB Gate

Ok, let me get this straight:

  1. The emails in question were found on a Weiner device, which just sounds bad
  2. The emails were not sent to or from Hillary Clinton
  3. The emails were to or from Huma.
  4. There are thousands of them
  5. The FBI doesn’t have a warrant to look at them so the FBI doesn’t know what they are about or how they connect to Hillary or anything really.
  6. Nevertheless, Comey announces his intention to tell Congress to Lynch.
  7. She strongly cautions him NOT to do that so as to not look political.
  8. He does it anyway because he was in a tough spot. No, this makes no sense to me. We have seen Comey in tough spots before. That never stopped him from taking risks. Why should he fear a bunch of cynical, zealous politicians who are determined to pursue the Clintons so they gum up the gears of government and get nothing done for four years?

My best guess is that Comey was trying to help downticket Republicans. He knows Trump is a bad guy.

Instead, he shoots himself and his reputation in the foot.

This looks stupid, politically motivated and short sighted.

It’s pissed off so many Clinton supporters that they’re flocking to early voting sites in large numbers and donating even more to her campaign.

Looks like Jim just made his new boss look bad. It’s a not a good start to their working relationship to say the least.

  1. So, Jim is either very stupid, a whore or an a$$hole…
    or all of the above…

  2. In uppityville we are in the “Keep going!” for Hillary, state of mind…

  3. ROFL. I read, “Nevertheless, Comey announces his intention to tell Congress to Lynch,” as in, announced his intention to lynch Hillary Clinton. 😀

  4. Speaking of vigilante pseudo-justice:

Ascended Madoka forgive me, but a nasty part of my mind wishes Anthony Trouble-making SOB Weiner would meet Lorena Bobbitt. 😈

Maybe Huma is mad enough by now to imitate Lorena. Surely Prez Hillary would pardon her (yeah, I know it would actually be up to the Governor of whatever state it happened in). 😈

    • Nor would it break my heart if Putin suddenly stopped breathing.

Fear dissolves the veneers of morality and civility rather quickly, eh what? 👿

  5. Is there any way the viewer can disable those Madoka-damned moving ads? I think the fornicating things are raising the operating temperature of my laptop about 20 degrees Celsius. 😡

    • IBW, with my older laptop + current Linux Mint and Firefox, I found a new application “plugin-container” load every time a page had a video on it. My older laptop already had a known problem anyway with overheating due to video codecs translation. An internet search turned up the fact that plugin-container is problematic.

According to “top”, that *(%^^ thing used anywhere from 64 to 99% CPU and sent the temperature shooting up to 90+ degrees F. Removing it entirely from the box caused Firefox to crash a lot. Now I just pkill plugin-container: it makes me have to access videos directly from youtube, but the temp. is back to bearable.

  6. J. Edgar Comey.

  7. …”I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record.” … Comey My view, this statement in the memo to FBI employees by Comey as his rationale for sending his memo to Congressional leaders, is proof that his real intent was to communicate directly with the American electorate and harm Secretary Clinton candidacy. Attorney General Lynch should immediately suspend Comey and begin an investigation into his political corruption.

  8. I edited this post to make it more better and WordPress didn’t update it

  9. (Ivory Bill: there’s AdBlock & Noscript, at least for Firefox and Chrome.)

  10. Lynch, and for that matter Obama, ought to be asking for Comey’s resignation. But they won’t do that because it would look political.

This is our (meaning whole USA) problem in a nutshell. One side pulls raw crap. Other side worries about the rules. They’re not even bringing a knife to the gunfight. They keep waving a sheet of paper — at themselves!

I really really reeeeally hope the Dems get the Senate, and I dream about the House, so that maybe we could get back to having at least part of a real government for a while.

  11. Thank you for this. I have been in shock at Comey’s actions. I hope that the intelligent people who see through Trump are not put off by this and continue their support of Hillary.

I had delayed making a contribution to the campaign, but it is even more important to have her elected.

  12. Apparently, HRC can fire Comey once she’s elected.

    • I give him until Wednesday November 9 before Obama fires him. He won’t last a day past that.

  13. Mr. Pecker, I keep Task Manager open when I am surfing so I can kill Adobe Flash, which is probably the root of your ad problem, in a heartbeat. Unfortunately some those absurdly media heavy sites like Raw Story will also reload Flash anytime your mouse gets near a graphic. I’d love to have app that would disable every graphic on a page with a click, but I’ve yet to encounter such a beast and am so far behind the current curve on web programming it would take me forever to write one so I wait and hope.

  14. I VOTED!
    {{{{{{{{{{ for HILLARY }}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Of course I voted straight party. BUT, I went down one by one Democratic position in Texas and my County of Travis. Maybe unpractical, but I wanted to make sure the selection for Democrats.

It was simply amazing to see the lines on the first day of early voting in our district. Never seen anything like this in the 32 years that I’ve lived in this small community.

It took me about 45 minutes waiting to get to the booth and when I left the lines were still holding long and strong.

Some older folks were talking that: “the big turn out reminded them when LBJ got elected president and won Texas.”

I’m hopeful for Texas turning blue again in this historical election.

Though I’m in Nirvana stat of mind myself…

  15. At http://www.hillaryhq.com/

Clinton Leads Trump 47% to 43% in Alaska. Wait…What?!

  16. I think he panicked. Whether over his “legacy,” a future job opportunity, or status and future job opportunity with the Republican party. What a dumb move. I don’t think he is going to regard this as one of his better moves. I used to respect the guy, but no more. Outrageous and outraged.

  17. How did Huma’s e-mails get on her hubby’s computer ? She turned in her other computers and blackberry. She is surprised there were e-mails on his computer.

  18. Here are two op-ed pieces from the New York Times that you might enjoy.

The first is Paul Krugman’s Monday, 10/31/2016 column and the second is the aptly titled “How Hillary Clinton Met Satan” from 10/29/2016.

  19. Apparently the FBI now has a warrant.

  20. There’s another way to look at it, as evidenced by Obama’s not taking issue with Comey’s move (which surprised me at first):

Both Obama and Biden repeat their position that Comey is a straight-up, trustworthy guy not trying to influence the election.
So they may know something worse would have happened had Comey not done this much.

Perhaps, mutiny by some at the FBI was just about to result in revelations about Comey having been pressured not to pursue a grand jury (both in Hillary’s investigation and that of the Clinton Foundation). Comey also blocked some inquiries FBI people wanted to pursue regarding Hillary. Such revelations would be quite damning to Obama, which would explain why he’s not joining the chorus against Comey’s action.

    • Omg, there’s no THERE there. This is ridiculous. In 50000 emails, the FBI found a handful of “classified’ emails. Instead of demonstrating “extreme carelessness”, it shows just how careful Hillary was.
They can scout all the emails of every Clinton and all their friends and advisors and still not find anything that rises to and criminal offense. At. All.
The reasons the investigations don’t find anything is because they’re clean. It’s a waste of time and money.
The conservative FBI agents are using the limited power they have to make sure Congress stays in Republican hands do nothing gets done and no Supreme Court justices get approved.
That’s what this is all about. There’s no other reason. They have to know that Trump is a toxic waste dump of corruption. But all those republican senators and congressmen? Gotta protect them. Comey dropped this bomb when it looked like Hillary’s Election was going to trigger a bigger wave than they thought.

    • As for Comey and the other disaffected FBI agents, I hope their CVs are up to date because I suspect obama is going to fire all of them on 11/9.
      You heard it here first.

      • I’m with you RD; they would look up through every piece toilet paper if they could to find: “criminal intent” the republican way…because they are sooooooo afraid of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Much ado about nothing…meditations on honour, shame, court and partisan politics.

      • yeah, obama in the past has praised and supported those on the hot seat and a couple of weeks or a month later, they are gone. it wouldn’t surprise me if comey was gone between the election and inauguration.
