We’re in the pink! Winter storm but not a blizzard
Woot! Woot! Woot!
It’s not actually that bad here in Pittsburgh. The snow is still falling but we didn’t get a white out, the cows ain’t freezin’ in the fields and the children aren’t stuck in the schoolhouse overnight.
But I’m not going anywhere today. I have Netflix and iTunes and Amazon Prime. You know, the three ingredients necessary for subsistence during a weather emergency. Also some fig and olive crackers from TJ’s along with a creamy feta cheese spread.
Maybe we should get together later and discuss Iowa and what’s really going on and why the Democrats are so hung up on the idea that perfectly reasonable people, who are also Democrats who are not Republicans, are still racists or something like that. There’s some obsessive thinking going on there.
I keep toying with the idea of a podcast and have a name for it all picked out. Anyone want to chime in about that?
In the meantime, check out this video by John “Cedars” Lloyd, on his critique of the Jehovah’s Witnesses latest broadcasting video. An apology in advance to my relatives who still believe this stuff. I just don’t know how they can watch this without a drinking game. Too funny. By the way, you don’t have to sit through the whole video. Just the first 4 minutes should be enough.
Take it away, John.

We got a little snow here so I’m pretending I’m snowed in. But actually, I tripped in it while bringing in my parent’s trash cans and smashed my face on the driveway. I got two lovely fat lips. …. Then a Crown on a back molar yesterday. Good times…..
Oh, I’m so sorry. Feel better!
Awww! That sounds tender
May Haruhi-kami-sama speed your recovery. 🙂
I do feel a lot better! The wonders of L-Lysine.
OOOwo!
Somehow every place within 50 miles of me has a foot or more but we only got a few inches, but unfortunately mucho ice. One degree too warm.
Up the road an hour or so from me: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/1949096-66-of-inches-of-snow-drops-at-mount-mitchell-setting-new-record/
Stay warm and dry, NE’ers! Has anyone heard anything else today about Bloomberg entering the race as an independent? The BBC reports he’s planning on doing so in March if Bernie Sanders appears to be the nominee at that point, or “if Hillary Clinton is weakened by Bernie Sanders.” He “sees a gap.” The BBC calls that “disastrous for the Democrats,” as he is likely to pull support from them in a close election.
I have the opposite suspicion from the BBC.
Bloomberg may be a safety valve for Establishment Reptilians, who don’t want to lose control of their party to the minions of Trump or Cruz, but don’t want to defect visibly to the Dinocratic Party.
I’m just barely old enough (53 in May) to remember “Democrats for Nixon” ads back in 1972. The Establishment Rs may be willing to lose this Prez election, rather than lose their control over the R party to a bunch of vulgar upstarts–just as the Establishment Ds were willing to lose the Prez election in 1972, rather than lose their control over their party to a bunch of vulgar upstarts.
Selah.
At least you didn’t say Snopocalypse
Yikes! katiebird! ( hugs!)
The Obama love is killing Hillary’s campaign . Does anyone else remember how often those Dems who hitched their wagon to his star on the off years were defeated? Or how often Dem candidates asked/ begged him NOT to appear with them? Obama is a vote generator for Obama and always has been. Peroid.
Hill should be talking about how she’s going forward, not how great he is and has been ! Surely Trump and Berine’s success shows that the status quo this time around is the kiss of death.
Thank you, paper doll! — I feel much better (although I have a freaky bruise inside my lip!!)
I am confused by her Obama love too. And also that she so completely dropped the impressive elements of her 2008 platform that I can barely remember them now.
Bernie’s platform is really attractive to me but, I’m still staying (pretty successfully) out of it.
If you are tempted Katiebird, I invite you to take a good look at Bernie’s issue of jobs, and imagine who will be working them.
This page?
Doesn’t seem bad to me. I imagine these projects would require a wide range of employees to get these jobs done.
Mm. that page linked to the post on Malheur. Here: https://roofingbird.wordpress.com/2016/01/28/160128-jobs-and-bernie-who-are-they-for/
They would be very good jobs. Using a sort of trickle down theory I suppose some of that money would get spread around, and the benefits of improvement would help a range of people.
Also there may be other ideas about jobs lurking on the rest of Bernie’s issue pages. However, you’ll see from my link why I think the emphasis on infrastructure is problematic.
