    • New bill would allow Medicare buy-in
This would be a giant leap forward. Just another reason to donate to Democratic senators for November: Two more Democratic senators are introducing a bill that would create a version of Medicare for some working-age Americans, offering yet another sign that government-run insurance will figure prominently into the Democratic Party’s health care agenda going […]

    • Gulf Stream Likely To Reverse Sooner Than Expected
Yeah, so this is bad news. “I think we’re close to a tipping point,” climatologist Michael Mann told ThinkProgress in an email. The AMOC slow down “is without precedent” in more than a millennium he said, adding, “It’s happening about a century ahead of schedule relative to what the models predict.” The impacts of such […]

Redpill: Mormons and Children of Gay Couples

The red pill is what you take when you want to break out of consensus reality. Consensus reality is what your culture is telling you is true because everyone around you is repeating the same things and getting reinforcement from each other. Taking the red pill means learning how to live without that reinforcement. It’s not pleasant.

This story is about the recent changes in the Mormon church with respect to same sex couples and their children. Essentially, if you are the child of a rapist or pedophile or murderer, the way the church behaves to you is welcoming and compassionate. But if you are the child of a same sex couple, you are excluded.

This podcast is from Mormon Stories and is a rebroadcast from Radio West.

Essentially, the church is doubling down. Here are some questions that immediately jumped to my mind:

Why now?

Why so severe?

Which church is next?

Will they double down on women next and in what way?
