    • Congress introduces legislation to destroy Social Security
< class="repubhubembed"> In December, 2015 just ahead of the Iowa caucuses, then-candidate Donald Trump stood up at a town hall and reassured a concerned AARP Iowa member that they “were not taking their Social Security.” In fact, throughout the campaign all he would say is that there was “waste, fraud and abuse” inside the Social […] […]

Disgusting (but not surprising) if true: Valerie Jarret allegedly leaked email scandal.

Consider the source. It’s the NYPost. Here’s the blurb:

Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett leaked to the press details of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail address during her time as secretary of state, sources tell me.

But she did so through people outside the administration, so the story couldn’t be traced to her or the White House.

In addition, at Jarrett’s behest, the State Department was ordered to launch a series of investigations into Hillary’s conduct at Foggy Bottom, including the use of her expense account, the disbursement of funds, her contact with foreign leaders and her possible collusion with the Clinton Foundation.

Six separate probes into Hillary’s performance have been going on at the State Department. I’m told that the e-mail scandal was timed to come out just as Hillary was on the verge of formally announcing that she was running for president — and that there’s more to come.

Like I said, this might all be made up. I’ll wait to see confirmation.

Setting aside the animosity and rancor that the Obama campaign generated by its scorched earth tactics against Hillary in 2008 (Accusations of racism and skin darkening photos anyone? How about the classy photo of Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau groping the breast of a life-size Hillary cutout?), we have to remember that Obama was funded by Wall Street. When Wall Street had to pick a candidate to support to ensure that it suffered none of the consequences for its reckless behavior, it picked Obama, not Hillary.

One was rehab and the other was an enabler. In the years since, I haven’t seen Wall Street making amends, have you? It still might control the horizontal and the vertical.

So, while I have no reason to believe this NYPost story (yet), let’s just say that nothing would surprise me at this point.

And in retrospect, it was probably wise for Hillary to put her emails on a private server. Some of us can’t trust our bosses to not snoop even at the highest levels of power.

More from the article. This part is totally unbelievable, as in, it can’t possibly be true that anyone actually said this with a straight face:

With his wife and Jarrett looking on, Obama made it clear that he intended to stay neutral in the presidential primary process — a clear signal that he wouldn’t mind if someone challenged Hillary for the nomination.

“Obama and Valerie Jarrett will go to any lengths to prevent Hillary from becoming president,” a source close to the White House told me. “They believe that Hillary, like her husband, is left of center, not a true-blue liberal.”

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! {{short breath}} LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Who is this “source close to the White House” and who do they think is their target audience? That’s the stupidest thing I have read in years. Only an Obot would believe that Obama is more true-blue than Hillary and only a Tea Party person would think that Obama is liberal at all. Is this source targeting aspirational Democrats with a latent conservative leaning that they keep in the closet or are they targeting people who read the NYPost?

Jeez, she hasn’t even announced she’s running yet and the party is already in full swing.

Fun, fun! Let the games begin!

  1. Hope Hillary has her real “tell all” tome in the vault.
    Scorched earth, baby.
I’m signing off the internet for the moment, so I don’t stroke out.

    • Don’t let them get your knickers in a twist. They’re trying to provoke a response. But it’s all so silly we can’t possibly take this seriously.
The baddies are out there trying to see what works. Just rock steady. It’s going to be a long ride to November 2016.
Remember, stick together, hold hands and look both ways when crossing the street. We’ll be fine.

  2. The NY Post has a habit of writing fiction and calling it journalism. So, I’m not inclined to believe this breathless gossip/story. But you add this to Maureen Dowd’s poison pen letter and we should all realize that the slime machine has been rolled out early. These are the early lobs to . . . what? Diminish HRC’s formal announcement? Discourage her from entering the race? [I’ve read dozens of concern troll pieces in this regard.] Or simply an oiling up the Machine for a full frontal assault because the prospect of the first female president is so-o-o . . . Scary!

Despite what the GOP screams about their ‘deep bench,’ they only have one credible candidate and that’s Deep Pockets Jeb Bush. Who the crazed base hates. But hey, that’s their battle cry: hate it, tear it down, burn it to the ground so we can install the likes of a Scott Walker or Tom Cotton or whatever fever-brained candidate they deem acceptable. Santorum. There’s always Santorum. Or Ben Carson, another perfect pick.

This is going to be a very lo-o-og election cycle. For all of us.

  3. Thanks for talking me down.
    Now, brunch!!

  4. Why wouldn’t Obummer and ValJar say this with a straight face? Why wouldn’t they believe it? I feel confident that they could and they do.

ValJar and Obummer are both what the 60s used to call Corporate Fascist Pigs. They believe the New Deal was close to communist so why wouldn’t they believe that the Clintons are left of liberal?

It is the brain salad suisurgery-driven remaking of the DemParty orientation. If New Deal Reactionaries can’t form a Pot Party to take over and purge the DemParty the way the Tea Partiers are taking over the ReParty, then the New Deal Reactionaries can either create a legitimate party for ourselves over the next couple decades or we can go voiceless. I would suggest the name New Deal Restoration Party but any name that interests people would do.

  5. That second paragraph is what tends to make me not believe the article. Obama cringes at the word liberal and he even has said he hates liberals and loves conservatives. That sounds lke something that would come out of the mouth of a tea partier. This sounds like something out of a divide and conquer tome from the GOP. I mean even Obama wouldn’t go to the NY Post for a story.

  6. My impression of Valerie Jarrett leads me to believe that some version of this story is probably true. Of course, the part about the Clintons being to the right of Obama is silly, but I don’t think narcissists are strangers to delusional thinking. I could see Valerie thinking she’s a leftie.

Remember the National Enquirer was first to report on Michael Jackson’s death. I’ve no doubt the NY Post has a few good sources.

  7. The corporate powere have to take down Hillary as soon as possible. She must be doing something right. A new slogan for election………….”It Better Be Hillary!” Or else….

  8. Why does Jake Tapper of CNN hate Hillary Clinton? Why does he refer to her email “debacle” and make it sound like her favorability numbers are in the toilet?
I’m so sick of these corporate lackeys and their mommy issues.

    • Me too. I kind of remember that kind of talk in 2008. And that I stopped reading him pretty early in the cycle.

    • I wonder if one could call them lackeybros or lackeydudes or something to indicate their age attitudes, gender attitudes, etc.

  9. Bob Somerby at the Daily Howler has been documenting the media’s most recent jihad aginst Hillary, including the hit pieces being published by the New York Times and the Washington Post. He likens it to the “liberal” media’s destruction of Al Gore’s candidacy in 2000. It makes for interesting reading.

    • I have read that a lot of this is pure personal reportorial spite. When the Clintons closed the White House Press Office which used to arrange all kinds of media contact and logistics for the White House press corps, and when they turned its functions over to an old Arkansas crony; the press people vented their spite at the inconvenience to themselves.

Part of the press corps hatred for Gore was because he didn’t serve the good food on the plane and at events to which they had become accustomed, and which Bush was serving at Bush’s events and on the Bushplane. So they got even for the bad food.
