  2. Two or three ladyfriends ago, I dated a deaf girl. She was such an excellent lipreader that we were to communicate quite normally, as long as the lights were on. (Yes, I learned some ASL — all forgotten now.)

    After seeing this video, I have new respect for her abilities.

  3. I was going to make an equally off-color reply, but now I miss her. Ah well. If a schlump is given the opportunity to date outside his league, said schlump should be forever grateful.

    You know, a couple of years ago, someone made an attempt to add sound to those famous color “home movies” of Hitler and Eva at the Berghoff. Lipreaders figured out what Adolf and company were saying. But how accurate were the results?
