      I used to get paid to watch these things. I don’t any more. So…I’m going to go read a nice novel in a coffee shop. Please feel free to talk about the debate in comments. I will, actually, be curious to hear what people have to say, just not willing to sit through so much […]

Tax Return Interview Questions that make you go, “huh?”

1.) Did Brooke contribute all or in part to her support in 2011?

{{LOLOLOLOLOLOL!}}

2.) Do any of these apply to this W-2?

I earned this income while an inmate at a penal institution.

Do you have any personal favorites?

Something to think about: New Jersey has a list of charitable organizations and funds that you can donate part of your return to, provided you’re getting one.  One of our selections is a food bank, so I chucked in some change.  If you’re feeling relieved this year that you didn’t owe the government anything and it owes you, why not give some of that away while you’re still on a tax refund high?  You can deduct it from next year’s return.  Every little bit helps and it’s a bleeding heart liberal thing to do.  Make the team proud.

  1. I do — but I’d have to betray confidences to explain why they’re funny.

    I’m just so glad I finished the dang things in time to get them to the post office that I’d almost celebrate with chocolate.

  2. Oh — I forgot to say that I used the BEST Tax software this year. Someone here recommended it (I don’t remember who) and it was WONDERFUL!!!

    Total cost was $21.00 for both Federal and State. And the interview process was a breeze!!
