    • The First Great Environmental Crisis Will Be
Water. As I’ve said for many years. The world is facing an imminent water crisis, with demand expected to outstrip the supply of fresh water by 40 percent by the end of this decade, experts have said on the eve of a crucial UN water summit. I’ll use the US as an example, though this going to effect almost all countries, some much worse than others, and it wi […]

#J17- Happy Birthday OWS. Let’s Occupy Congress!

In Chaplin’s speech, he quoted the Gospel of Luke, which I think is so much better than John 3:16.

“The kingdom of God is in your midst”

I’ve got a ticket to ride.  Gettin’ up at 4:00am to be there when Congress opens tomorrow.  I’ll be meeting with Marsha, Lambert and some of the other Correntians.  If I’m not mistaken, Lambert is also planning a Virtually Speaking broadcast with Avedon Carol tomorrow night at 9:00 EST so be sure to check that out.

If you would like to help defray the cost of the trip, please see the donate button to the upper left side of the screen.  We should have just enough in the PayPal account to cover it but it never hurts to plan for unexpected incarcerations and bail.  Recommended donation is $10.17.  I’d like to say thank you to all of you who have contributed.  It means a lot to me.

So, I will be packing my chargers tonight and turning in early to get up even earlier.

For those of you who want to hear more Charlie Chaplin, here is the entirety of his speech from The Dictator.  He wrote this himself.  Enjoy!

  1. Give em hell. Try not to get arrested, have fun but stop just short of enough fun to get pepper sprayed. Take pictures for those of us who can not be there. Please boo and hiss any and all fascists you run in to.

  2. Off topic: George Takei is awesome. 😀

I would like to add that this McCance fellow does NOT speak for all of us Arkansawyers.

  3. Do you have a pair of those yellow squeeze-foam earplugs for in case they start using the LRAD on you?

  4. Oh look, more hippie punching. Andrew Sullivan is asking why liberals are so dumb right on the cover of Newsweek. And Jonathan Chait asked recently why liberals are so unreasonable. Insulting the voters, always the winning strategy.

After pointing out the hippie-punching to an Obama supporter, he (of course he) asked me which President I’d want and I said the one who was denied a roll call at the convention, the one whose NJ delegates were given away, the one against whom the rules were bent—that one.

  5. Wouldn’t it be nice if our Representatives and Senators did more than just Occupy Congress?

  6. Take pictures be safe,hugs. 🙂
