Sure Happy It’s Thursday wake-up open thread

ex wife

I just woke up and don’t have time to do a full post – so enjoy this Halloween graphic that was really popular last year until the news gets here.

This is an open thread.

  1. How not to do a photo-op:

    • This is as lame as Deeds in VA attacking McDonnell for hating women. Though sort of true, he has a daughter in the war. Talk about walking right into it. I assume he’ll have a book afterwards: “How not to run for Governor.”

      • I live near enough to VA that I have to follow their Governor’s “race.” Must say I am no Deeds enthusiast. As to McDonnell, he was attacked for a right-wing, religious-based screed he wrote long ago as a student. I’d tend to discount it except McDonnell has quite a track record of trying to implement many of those misogynist and sexist ideas into law in the Commonwealth. For that reason alone, I will urge all my friends in VA to (hold their noses, shelve their doubts) and vote Deeds for Governor. My 2 cents.

        • In the grand scheme of things, 20 years ago isn’t really that long ago. 20 years ago was 1989, WELL past time for sexist asshats to be pontificating about how women should stay home and raise children and not ruin the family by having careers. I was struggling to be taken seriously in a male-dominated industry, earning way less than my male counterparts. Thanks to people like McDonnell.

Deeds is not much of a better choice.

McDonnell’s going to win, anyway. VA will swing back to red for Gov, Lt Gov, and Attorney General.

  4. Bold leadship? Not from Mr. One-derful:

It will go down in history as one of Barack Obama’s signature decisions on the economy, a dramatic move to slash corporate pay at bailed out banks and automakers.

But on Wednesday night, administration officials said that the president of the United States didn’t have all that much to do with a decision that will, in many ways, come to define his relationship with Wall Street.

In fact, sources within the administration say the decision to cap corporate pay was Kenneth Feinberg’s, and his alone. A senior administration official tells POLITICO that Obama did not sign off on the pay master’s decision. Feinberg didn’t even brief the White House on it, the official said, but he briefed Treasury officials instead.

“Decisions were his,” says the official. Treasury, in turn, briefed White House staff on the “shape and general direction” of the Feinberg decision last week, but didn’t offer extensive detail. The president did not have to approve Feinberg’s plan.

Gee China invests in own country. Improves infrastructure and create jobs. What a concept.
Since at least 90% of what is bought now in America comes from China, I think they should thank us for making their country better.

We can no longer trust the msm for objective and truthful news.
Now the want us to pay to get screwed. Isn’t that prostitution?

Once again I had the pleasure of telling the LA Times ” I do not believe in killing trees to create an Obama rag”
They must really be having problems getting customers because they keep calling me to take the paper.

  9. Inspired by dakinikat’s “Boring Banking” video snippet: Obama and co are trying to turn America into a kind of Vulgaria. We must look for “magic in the wake of [this] fiasco,” press onward and upward, and plant “The Roses of Success”!

Not sure how to post videos, so feel free to fix if necessary.

Do you think if the rest of the country succeeded from Washington we could be looked upon as a favored nation?
We could get some of our own money back, improve the infrastructure, create jobs and use our money for our interest for a change.
