Stupid should hurt

Sarah Palin 01

The Palin haters are at it again.  From Business Insider:

Hong Kong Broker Pulling A “Borat” On Sarah Palin

Hopefully Sarah Palin realizes she’s been invited to Hong Kong as a practical joke.

CLSA, the Asia-focused broker who invited Mrs. Palin as keynote speaker for an Asian investment conference, is well known for their cheeky takes on investment research.

In the past, they’ve polled Asian fortune tellers for index targets, hired anime cartoonists to draw Japanese research, and generally love to push the boundaries between entertainment and analysis. They are a real research firm, it’s just that they love to sprinkle in some hilarity every now and then as a smart marketing gimmick.

Sarah Palin is this year’s big laugh for them.

Her invitation as keynote speaker in Hong Kong is so ridiculous that its absurdity can’t be accidental.

Alaskan PDS bloggers Shannyn Moore and The Mudflats try to postpone their irrelevancy by repeating the story.  Unfortunately for them, their 15 minutes are over.

Let’s see, CSLA offers Sarah Palin $100,000 to make a speech and this is obviously a big joke because . . .  why?  Do the Palin haters think that in the middle of the speech a clown will run out and hit her in the face with a pie?  Kinda pricey for a few laughs, and they’ll never get anyone worth a damn to give a speech again.

From the CSLA website:

Global leaders and industry specialists use CLSA Investor Forums as a platform to examine the economic, political, environmental, technological and financial trends impacting global markets. In the past, keynote speakers have included Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, Al Gore, Henry Kissinger, Lee Kuan Yew and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, to name a few.

It sounds to me like Sarah will be doing what many other notable names have done – she will get paid to make a speech.

I don’t know if Sarah will write the speech but I’m sure she will do a pretty good job delivering it.  If it were Obama reading the speech from his Teleprompters the Failbots would point to the speech (“He gave a speech!“) as evidence of his mastery of international finance.
BTW – I have the Borat DVD on a shelf somewhere. If someone was “pulling a Borat” it would have to be Sarah.  The correct cultural reference would be Punk’d.

  1. I think PDS officially jumped the shark this week. When they’re bringing it up to deflect criticism of Kennedy, I’m sorry, but WTF? Am I missing something, has she ever done anything of a criminal nature apart from borrowing Hillary’s Vagina of Death? I can just tell she’d flee the scene of an accident, it’s the go-to move of all ersatz hot librarians.

    • Since when was it big news that a retired politician was getting paid to give a speech?

The last I recall was when Ronnie Raygun got paid $1 million to give a speech in Japan.

      • Because she’s so stupid! Why would they pay money to listen to an idiot? It’s like how Hillary had to pay for everyone’s AUMF-voting sins, we mysteriously decided to vote for O when he was getting outperformed in debates by Gravel and proclaiming his love for Reagan, yet we still hate stupidity and conservatism–just watch how appalled we are by Palin. We’re venting our disgust with ourselves for supporting Obama on to her.

      • They are making it big news… which is good news for Sarah!

I’m starting to think the goils from Alaska really like their former Governer, and want to keep her in the news??

  2. They seem to be foaming at the mouth with hate that Palin is traveling around giving speeches. I think the PDS is turning into Palin Rabies.

I was just talking to a Failbot friend a few days ago. After first going on about how the lower Obama poll numbers means the level or racism in this country must be on the increase, she (yes, a she) then started foaming about how much she deeply hates Palin. And this was before this Palin lecture news, so Palin hadn’t really been in the news for weeks and weeks.

I tried to get at why the hate. I first learned that no other Republican past or present reached this level of hate in her. I even asked if a male Republican had all of the same views, would she hate him as much. She said no. I tried to find out what it was. After enough questions she finally started to understand that that level of hate wasn’t rational. But even so when she would say the name Palin, I could hear the venom. I didn’t have any effect in the end.

It’s truly amazing. I mostly get the impression, given the other quite bizarre zombie behaviors (e.g., Obama is the greatest ever), that she and others have learned from the campaign that Palin was evil. And the message got engrained deeply enough that it just won’t go away.

    • You have Newt Gingrinch making speeches and the lefty blogs don’t get their panties in a knot over it.

Newt is the Prince of fucking Darkness.

      • Actually Newt was the one I brought up as a comparison first. Nope, Newt’s just fine and dandy compared with Sarah. Boggles the mind.

        • Newt never winked at anyone. Especially the kids he wanted to confiscate and put in orphanages. So now you people are against heartwarming orphan song and dance numbers about lukewarm gruel?

          • LOL. Yea. And look at what Sarah is doing in that picture. And how did she find out anyway?… She is evil. 🙂

          • ZOMG!

            The Wink!

          • Sarah emasculates America!

          • I figured it out. She’s part of an old sleeper cell from the old soviet union meant to destroy us all. Yea, that’s the ticket. Makes just as much sense.

          • It’s the old 11th dimensional chess. Obots can see the evil that is elusive to the lumpen. We see a garden variety Repub no worse than any other, they see the Manchurian Candidate. They can sense the deep core of true evil in Hillary Clinton’s warmongering soul. They’re truly amazing that way. What would we do without their superior judgment.

          • That picture is Sarah’s response to this picture:

          • Nope, she’s playing a skillful game of “Operation.”

      • Thanks, Myiq.

Whether one disagrees. or agrees, with Palin’s political views, as far as I know she has never done anything so egregious as to deserve the venom.

Her perverse attackers, just as Hillary’s, are an indefensible, sick element of society.

HRC in noway ever deserved the constant, vulgar, lying, petty, trashing that was constantly directed at her, nor does Palin.

One can only conclude that their mutual “sin” is being female, personable, effective, non-elitist,and definitely a threat to the status quo.

        • She deserves to be abused because she dared to criticize Teh Precious

          • And Hill will never be forgiven because she had the effrontery to stand there all non penis having and leave the guys in the dust instead of staying down in single digits land where she belonged, going away when they told her to, and apologizing for their dirty tactics.

          • She shoulda served coffee during the debates.

          • And biscuits, don’t forget the biscuits.

          • Oh god, remember that article about how they were all wary of her when she came to the Senate and she had to bring them coffee to get them to warm up to her? It must be jarring to step into the building, “Okay, here are the pearls, here’s the vacuum, here’s the French maid outfit….”

          • I remember when the media got pissed because she brought them bagels on the campaign bus instead of donuts.

( I admit I kinda sympathize with them – who wants bagels for breakfast?)

        • Exactly correct, Just Me!

Sarah knows this. She has Hillary to learn from. That explains her “alternative” approach to politics.

At this point I figure she can’t be worse than Obama. Will probably be better. And I live for the day I get to see the hated “lesser sex” whoop ass in the White House.

          SYD

  3. Failbot logic about Palin as portrayed in Monty Python:

BEDEMIR: Quiet, quiet. Quiet! There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
CROWD: Are there? What are they?
BEDEMIR: Tell me, what do you do with witches?
    VILLAGER #2: Burn!
    CROWD: Burn, burn them up!
BEDEMIR: And what do you burn apart from witches?
    VILLAGER #1: More witches!
    VILLAGER #2: Wood!
BEDEMIR: So, why do witches burn?
    [pause]
    VILLAGER #3: B–… ’cause they’re made of wood…?
    BEDEMIR: Good!
    CROWD: Oh yeah, yeah…
BEDEMIR: So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1: Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEMIR: Aah, but can you not also build bridges out of stone?
    VILLAGER #2: Oh, yeah.
BEDEMIR: Does wood sink in water?
    VILLAGER #1: No, no.
VILLAGER #2: It floats! It floats!
VILLAGER #1: Throw her into the pond!
    CROWD: The pond!
BEDEMIR: What also floats in water?
    VILLAGER #1: Bread!

    ARTHUR: A duck.
    CROWD: Oooh.
    BEDEMIR: Exactly! So, logically…,
VILLAGER #1: If… she.. weighs the same as a duck, she’s made of wood.
    BEDEMIR: And therefore–?
    VILLAGER #1: A witch!
    CROWD: A witch!

  4. The end is near:

‘Me and Sarah Palin,’ by Levi Johnston

That’s the headline on the just-released cover of the October edition of Vanity Fair magazine, due on newsstands in Alaska on Sept. 8. The article isn’t online yet, but here’s the blurb from VanityFair.com: “He was just a teenage hunk who planned to become an electrician. Then his girlfriend got pregnant, and her mother ran for vice president. The rest is tabloid history. Now, for the first time, Levi Johnston opens up about life with the Palins, debunking Sarah’s image as hockey mom and moose hunter extraordinaire.”

Swine flu doesn’t sound so bad after all.

    • by the way did palin ever sue for slander . ???/

    • Well, I dare say…. if Sarah can take on the Obama Chicago thug machine and win, she can handle anything this twerp has to say about her as well.

Poor Levi. He has sold his soul for the dime. And… when the tabloids are done with him…. he’ll be like a leper to women.

I mean… who wants to “kiss” someone who goes out and tells the whole world? Let alone have babies with him???

    • It’s almost unbelievable that Vanity Fair–or any supposedly decent magazine–would make so much of this young guy and his failed relationship.

Except that after 2008, no stupidity, chicanery, race-baiting, or misogyny in the public forum is unbelievable anymore.

      • Just when you think the public discourse couldn’t get any lower, someone breaks out the shovels

      • Vanity Fair, a supposedly decent magazine?? Which publication was it that featured the “no source” lengthy article telling how Bill Clinton was cheating on Hillary while campaigning for her?! Wait for it…….Vanity Fair!!! And, that’s just one of many trashy, ridiculous, and smarmy articles they have published. This isn’t their first swipe at Sarah.

It’s Vanity Fair. Levi Johnston is never going to be a reliable source IMHO.

Guess who jumped on this topic at the first chance possible……wait for it…….Jeralyn Merritt!!

        • Jeralyn was a pretty sharp blogger until Palinpalooza.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

          • She lost it at the Dem convention. Rationality went out the window with most all political posts. They drank the kool-aid and towed the line. Palin bashing was part of that line and she played it for all it was worth. If you wanted to stay there, you had to be assimilated and made into an Obot. No exceptions. Pretty creepy to witness.

        • Vanity Fair should change its name to Vile Filth or Vacuous Fiction.

  5. I expect Levi Johnson to do a gay porn video any day now.

  6. A part of the Palin derangement is just simple ingrained sexism. Some women try to tell me she’s more evil than Rush, Newt, and Cheney. They are the same people who tried to tell me Hillary was evil, manipulative, ambitious. Ambition apparently being one of the greatest crimes a woman can commit. She thinks too highly of herself.

But another part of the derangement is that Palin is not foaming at the mouth like Rush. She speaks to people and her message resonates. It makes her a real threat, politically. For a while the Republican brand has been mock worthy, the party of wealth, greed, and family values hypocrisy. Should someone manage to start speaking the language of the people from a Republican perspective, they could capture all those voters who have believed Dems are the party of the downtrodden, the poor, the working class. Dems have played that card for a few decades, but it’s been wearing thin. People are feeling a bit exploited by it, like they’ve been getting lip service and not much else.

    • Exactly right. She could be the perfect storm as a politician.

    • Don’t you know it isn’t womanly to have ambition? We’re supposed to be subservient. God’s will and all that crap(or a bunch of men’s will parading around pretending that it’s God’s will).

Screw the whole bunch of em’, if God had wanted me to be subservient he wouldn’t have given me a brain and the willingness to engage it when necessary.

  7. I have yet to understand the reason that the Liberal left feels so endangered by former Governor Palin’s presence. What evil did she inflict on the state of Alaska while governor?

I have been disappointed before, HRC getting deep sixed by the DNC in her presidential campaign comes to mind, but I am hoping that former Governor Palin will will have the last laugh on the misogynistic element of the American political system.

    • Don’t you KNNOOOOWW??? She personally went out and killed wolves with her bare hands and the craped in the woods and then turned the whole place into a landfill.

At least thats what the enviro-wackos are saying now. (I USED to be a member of one of these groups, but left when they started their “WE WON! We got the Environmental savior and defeated the world-wreker and wolf killer!!!!!11111!!)

    • It’s not the liberal left that feels threatened.

      It’s Obamanation.

  8. Sarah,
    A woman of courage.

    Thank you myiq2xu.

  9. Sorry, myiq, but I must disagree as a career ER nurse. If stupid were to hurt, the entire medical system would collapse, ensnaring several of my co-workers as well.
