    • The Class War the Rich Won And the End Of NeoLiberal Capitalism
Many years ago now, I wrote a post called “There Was a Class War And %he Rich Won.” Ironically, post the financial meltdown of 07/8, and thanks to Bush, Obama, Bernanke and Geithner both bailing them out and immunizing them from their crimes, that victory has accelerated. This chart, from Harvard, tells the story of […]

I’m laughing so hard I need to pee.

This is another open thread

  1. (giggling) That’s the quote I used when I posted it to my facebook page.

I think the video is going viral because my daughter instantly replied that she just saw it yesterday is is still laughing over it.

    • What’s this “facebook” thing that I keep hearing about?

      • I think of it as a multidimensional Open Thread. It’s become an easy way for me to share links with friends and keep up with people I lost touch with for a long time.

One of the things I like most about it is the ability to BLOCK people I don’t want seeing those updates. And it’s pretty funny to see the comment streams where blocked people are obviously participating in the same conversations.

      • multidimensional Open Thread

Is that anything like 11 dimensional chess?

      • Facebook: it’s what happens when you try to read late at night.

        • Heh that would be my facebook definition all right. there seems to be a whole raft of these literal version videos on youtube.

  2. WTF? LOL!

That was one of my fave songs of the 80s, or was it 70s? It was during my drug years, whatever. Anyway, there were parts that hed me rolling!

  3. My favorite part:

“Nevermind I just went on the floor”

  4. After Bonnie Tyler did this song, Streisand used one by the same writer. You can hear the similarities!

    • Oh Gawd — you forced me to remember the 1976 version of “A Star Is Born.” I know you weren’t being deliberately cruel, but some memories aren’t meant to be recovered.

  5. I loved when Babs went through her sex-kitten phase.

  6. That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while.

  7. what is this ? 24 hours of bad music? I mean, i left night with an embed of Grease and it just keeps up? It’s like all the music I really wanted to forget just keeps popping up~

  8. For my homies over at Blogstalkers II

  9. Have you seen this literal video with A-Ha song “take on me”. I think this was the video that started it all.

  10. One more with Meatloaf’s “I’ll do anything for love”

  11. the quintessential 80’s videos:

    and who could forget

    and my personal favorite

  12. It’s not music but here are some beautiful photographs of The Golden Gate Bridge — My favorite place….

    • We’re heading out to San Fran this July for vacation. 2 days in San Fran, 3 days in Yosemite and 4 days in Napa.

      • (jealous)

I’m totally envious. Except for a quick visit for a funeral, I haven’t been out there since we eloped in 2004. And I really miss it.

        • We were originally going to incorporate a side trip to Vegas into it but only if Elton John was at Ceasar’s Palace. Alas…he’s not.

        • What I would really like to do is rent a place for a year or so. Then I could visit family AND do the tourist stuff that I never seem to do.

Of course, if they really close all the state parks there will be less of that. 2 of the parks we went to all the time when I was a kid are on that list. Oh, and my favorite mountain. (I’m not sure just how they close a mountain)

        • We’re staying in El Portal when we visit Yosemite.

        • That’s where Cary Stayner did his thing

        • Are you staying at the Cedar Lodge?

        • no, we’re renting a house.

        • and gggesssssh. Thanks for the reminder about Stayner.

  13. “We were barely 17 and we were barely dressed”

    • “Holy cow, I think he’s gonna make it!”

    • Karla DeVito ROCKS! Fell in love with her from this Meatloaf video and then she went on to do the awesome song ‘Cool World.’ Then she married Robby Benson. Didn’t see THAT coming!

After watching this video, now I want to go watch Rocky Horror.

  14. One of my favorite lines about Cary Stayner:

“There is concern among some law enforcement officials and forensic science specialists that Stayner did not commit the murders by himself, although no one else has been charged in connection with the murders.

    • ohferchrissaakkes! Now I’ll have to sleep with my eyes open.

    • bad enough my family is going to terrorize me with the drive on PCH through Big Sur….

((( saw a description of the drive as 10,000 feet to your side and nothing between you and certain death.)))

  15. New Post — thanks to myiq2xu
