AFSCME – The F**king Union That Works For You!

NSFW – Profanity

GOP Rep. Eric Cantor got mad at the union and prepared this faux ad.  His office has apologized, but the video has gone viral.

  1. First! yeah!

  2. I suspect most AFSCME members will think it’s hilarious.

  3. AFSCME hey didnt they support hillary in the primary?

  4. I am a CWA man myself!

  5. myiq-its quiet tonight at the conflu maybe spammy ate all our commenters?

  6. They’re prolly eating dinner and getting ready for “The View From Under The Bus” (which comes on at 9pm EST)

“getting ready” = “boozing it up”

  7. good for you I could use a drink myself where the F’ing cork screw?

  8. I have to say, I like Eric Cantor. And I like him even more, now. This is pretty funny.

  9. This is pretty funny

If I was in a union I would want them to have the “We don’t take shit from nobody” attitude.

  10. John Amato at obots and more Obots has his panties in a twist, claiming it’s an insult to Italian-Americans.

The speech pattern is from New Jersey, not Italy.

  11. Yes, indeed AFSCME was whole heartedly behind Hillary in the primaries. (AFSCFME member, myself in fact- I’m a librarian)

SEIU (which has tried to undermine AFSCME and did undermine other unions like the hotel worker unions, then sold out to the corporate people in any union contract “negotiation”) went all out for Obama and harassed the rank and file of that union to back Obama, but the majority stood up to the so called union leadership and voted for Hillary in Nevada.

  12. Hasn’t that been around forever?

  13. Dunno, it’s new to me and I’ve been around almost forever.

  14. Eric Cantor seems like an up and commer. Why would he shoot himself in the foot like this. Sloppy.

  15. I think it is hilarious and I am surprised if it does not become a great recruiting tool for this union.

  16. Jerome at MyDD put this up during the primaries, maybe you have to actually be or know an AFSCME member to find if funny. They really don’t take shit from nobody, nor should they.

A commenter on C&L remembers the video from ’94, Cantor didn’t make it.

  17. I remember ILGWU.

Look for the label, the union lablel.. I’m ashamed I can’t remembe it al (the song). There is someone out there who can remember thr rest of it..

  18. Look for the union label

  19. remember the plaintive commericials? the middle-aged women singing the union song?

    l

  20. You, understand, of course, that this little piece of history is key to current action?

    Nene

  21. You, understand, of course, that this little piece of history is key to current action?

The corporatists have been union-busting since before I was born.

  22. We need to get up. Get counted Stop the transfer of wealth

    to the already wealthy.

  23. miqui: you do understand. You’re around my age.

  24. In the sense that I’m ready to go out to the streets. i’m close to NYC but how do i prrotest in the suburbs?

  25. My dream of action has always been to go on strike. A national strrike.

I’ve always imagined little strikes, like one day of not buying diapers. Imagine.

    Or not buying peanut butter,

    Just to start.

  26. nene, I remember the ILGWU ads too, and You Tube has several of them. Thanks for the reminder — good memories.

  27. I think its bloody hilarious! Just common talk getting straight to the point. I know people who talk like this. “Piss water” is correct. What do people think contaminates their water? It’s untreated refuse aside from pollution and runoff. We had that cryptosporidium outbreak in Milwaukee in the early 90’s… probably because our water treatment facilities are outsourced to private entities.
