You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about how and why Black Obama was shoved down America’s throats and all the attendant events surrounding the Obamenon of the Obamanationization of Omerica. I think of how he came out of nowhere with money grown on trees dripping out of his ass, beloved of all though none had yet met him, and I go, “Huh? What the fuck is up with that?” Then I marvel at how fortunate he is to appear black on the anniversary of so many noteworthy events in black history that might otherwise have gone unnoticed, like the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech. There’s not much doubt that were it not for the monumentousness of the historic nature of a having a candidate who appears to be black run for president, that one might have come and gone without proper deference being paid. I mean, in normal, non-monumentally historically natured times, who the hell makes a big deal about a 45th anniversary? So, right there, you have a reason to be thankful that there is Obama.
Then, there’s the inescapable fact that without the awe-inspiring presence of the Inspirer of Awe, black Americans like me might have continued to go about our business blissfully unaware of our longing for our collective, unspoken need to validate ourselves be fulfilled by installing a man who appears to be black in the Oval Office. Without the Obamessiah deigning to play Joshua to Dr. King’s Moses, black Americans might still be inclined to lobby and petition the government for things previously denied, but now obviously guaranteed them, like, jobs, education opportunities, access to health care services and equal treatment under the law. Thank God we don’t have to worry about stuff like that anymore.
Yet, the most wondrous of things to behold is the sheer genius, nay intellectual artistry, employed by the architects and engineers of Obamania. A political campaign propelled by a new media source whose birth, growth and development mirrors the candidate, now president’s own, how lucky is that? A campaign designed by a man as notorious for his ability to create faux grassroots support on his clients’ behalf, creating the illusion that the poison they spew is desired by teeming hordes of consumers, as he is for getting black guys elected, meets a candidate who appears to be black and whose past, failed attempts at community organizing can be exploited as a dedication to grassroots organization, are you kidding me? Match made in Heaven my ass! This…is…Kismet!
And, in the ultimate stroke of genius, corporate sponsors desperate for up close and personal access to power to buttress their inflated sense of self importance can be recruited as co-conspirators in this win-win good-for-everybody exercise in democracy at work by encouraging them to subvert the campaign donor laws while contributing massive amounts of cash necessary to promote the wondrous goodness of He Who Would Come To Be Known As The One to the huddled masses yearning to be seen as tolerant of black people. By breaking up the obscene amounts of money being funneled into the campaign by corporate entities into individual employee donations, the campaign Astroturfer can not only grow the campaign donor list, he can inform the conveniently nascent alternative media sources of the wonders of perpetuating the small donor myth now afforded him by the swelled numbers of individual contributors. In addition, the black man manipulating Astroturfer now possesses an alternate, invaluable tool for indoctrinating the gullible, since the real campaign donation sources include individual mainstream media information disseminators among other purveyors of influence. Thus, at any time, thousands of media and other influential employees of institutions of higher learning, government, and finance, can be directly contacted at a moment’s notice and given information, talking points and marching orders straight from the Astroturfer’s mouth.
Direct access to the validation seeking black Americans and their fellow hopeless country-men and -women desperate for change via the Bullies of the Blogosphere and the Mainstream Media Maniacs by way of the White House in 1 easy step through the courtesy of Corporate America. Thousands of employees of Citigroup, JP Morgan, Pepsi, Time Warner, MTV, BET, Dreamworks, Microsoft, Stanford, Columbia, etc., along with the other “small donors” on the list, now get to hear straight from the Astroturfing man with the office next door to the president any time he feels like telling them something. Now we know why Obama 2.0 wants us all to have stimulus package house parties.
Combine that with daily talking point exchanges between the White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel and two of CNN”s “Democratic strategists,” Paul Begala and James Carville, and you’ve got the country on information lockdown.
Gotta love that.
Now if I could just figure out who hired the Astroturfer in the first place…

CINIE KICKED ASS, TOOK NAMES, and threw them to the curb where they belong!!!!
Cinie – I’m always humbled by your posts – and honored to read them.
Oh God/Goddess – there is just too much richness in this post to comment on anything about it now – let me finish some dinner & go back & read it again.
!!!!!
Cross-posted at PUMA Pac:
I JUST WATCHED “AUDACITY OF DEMOCRACY”
I enjoyed it up until the end … because it didn’t end like we all wanted it to, did it? 😦
I was once again truly inspired by the PUMA movement as it was shown in this movie, especially the leadership — Murphy, Riverdaughter, Will Bower, Sheri Tag, Maryland Puma (where is MP these days??), filmmakers Brad and Lori and Steve, and all the rest. These wonderful women and men were propelled into leadership roles by the circumstances around them. They stepped up and put together a movement of enthusiastic, passionate and committed activists. I know we haven’t heard the last of the PUMAs, not by a longshot.
The film itself is more a document of the events surrounding the ridiculous convention and nomination process than anything else. This is basically aimed at PUMAs. Anyone else viewing this film would need a crash course in all of the madness that led up to the convention in order to fully understand what’s going on in the film. I do not have any knowledge of how the caucuses work, so the segments of the movie that deal with caucus fraud were lost on me. On the other hand, I have been a regular reader of PUMA blogs, so I immediately got the references to “Kos”, “Larry Johnson”, “No Quarter”, etc. Someone who does not visit the “blogosphere” would not know what the people in the movie were referring to.
If any of you PUMAs reading this can tell me who some of the people were in the movie, I would appreciate it. For instance, who was the man who was pissed off at Murphy for supposedly standing him up for an interview? He was identified by name as Tommy someone and listed as a “Journalist”. It seems like he was much more than that, though, judging by all the on-camera time he was given. Who was the PUMA Pac spokeswoman with the eyeglasses who grants him an interview after he talks to Riverdaughter? I also wish I knew who you PUMAs were in the Denver segments. You were all so courageous. It was very inspirational. Can those of you who were in the Denver segments identify yourselves?
I am so sorry that the movie (and the election!) ended the way it did. I felt very bad for the woman at the end of the movie who said she spent so much money on Hillary’s campaign and then felt betrayed by Hillary. It’s a shame it ended that way for her, but it ended that way for all of us, really, although I certainly don’t blame Hillary for the outcome.
I have not had a chance to see the second disc, which Brad said contains interviews of PUMAs. I will try to watch that over the weekend.
Anyway, I am glad I have a copy of this film. It is a historical document of our movement. I signed on to PUMA Pac the day Hillary suspended her campaign. I have been a PUMA ever since. I am very proud to be a PUMA.

ACK MODERATION!!!!
I tried to let you out, SM, but no go.
I’m in – Cinie! Read above.
my opinion is that backtrack was put in office to bring down America and race was used as a tool.
No average American no matter what color will be helped by backtrack.
He will finish draining the wealth of the country.
He will demolish all the safeguards put in place to keep the country free.
Believe my I cry for my country. tthe last 9 years has been slowly destroying all that made this country great.
I don’t know how to begin to stop it and I wish I did.

I wish the movie wasn’t just directed at PUMAs. It doesn’t really do anything that way. If you weren’t there or weren’t paying attention, it’s all insider speak to you. Either way, I’m grateful for the movie. It’s just one more thing that hasn’t turned out the way I’d hoped.
My theory is more modest — only Nixon could go to China, and only a “Democrat” could hand Social Security over to the Totally Awesome invisible hand of Wall Street.
I got this from a friend of mine. It sez a lot about what’s going on as this country goes to hell.

btw — love how you always say he “appears to be black” LMAO!
Their “Eyes on the Prize” and Obama was the prize.
I find my African America friends becoming more critical of him. I think or many black electing Obama was akin to having sex with a beautiful person you lusted after for years. This was symbolized by having an African American as POTUS.
You conquer the prize, bring home the trophy, have sex that results in an orgasm that curls your toes.
You smoke a cigarette with the prize (literally).
You awake the next morning to find that the prize is fallible, its make up has worn off, its clothes are wrinkled and musty- after all it has slept with so many sweaty pigs just to get where it is today.
The novelty has worn off. The thrill is gone.
You are thankful that dawn has come.
You are happy to get out of bed with it.
You offer to call it a taxi.
But you look closer at its hand. There is a ring on its finger.
Yep in your Kool Aid drunken stupor. You married it. And you have to stay married to it for at least four years.
Enjoy your Prize.
You deserve it.
Jadzia, if only that oh so invisible hand wasn’t visible shoveling America’s last security net into its back pocket.
Afro: You have won analogy of the year.
Afrocity —
Just to paraphrase your last two lines — You broke it (America, the government, the Democratic Party — take your pick), you own it.
(Or, as my local kitchen store puts it, “Unattended children will be given espresso and a puppy.” Oh wait, that doesn’t really apply to this situation, does it?)
1st point to discuss (as I digest some din):
ABSOLUTELY.
See this is where I get *%*$@#&$@!!!
Obama was the safest candidate to manipulate the masses. Who’s going to go against a black man looking to be president (and wasn’t Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton)?
He’s 1/2 white, 1/2 black, but all love & hope-y-ness.
It completely destroyed the power of “minorities” in America because Barack proved that we can be bought & sold in the 21st Century.
Then as the MSM ate up the Cinderella story, they became participant to the ploy.
Execelon Nuclear Energy started Obama’s prominence into the national sphere via Axelrod & astroturfing with Alinsky’s handbook. Who benefits from Nuclear Energy? General Electric, NBC & MSNBC & Universal owner. They build Power Plants – that is where they get most of their money from.
And that is just the tip of the corruption iceberg – I need to gulp some water.

Moderated – AGAIN! Help!!!
Oh, Regency, your last two posts have made me TOTALLY depressed!
And when the make up wears off you find out it isn’t even Black.
It was a white man in black face all along.
AFROCITY – wow. You just floored me with that one night stand now married scenario.
I’d dare say it was a Neo-Con all along.
SM,
It was George Bush.
Moderated again!
Happy Black Guy wants to make some PUMA babies with me!
HELP!!!
SM: Jungle fevah, baby! Literally.
Is it a coincidence that they have the same ears?????
Obama= George Bush
Michelle= Laura (subservient)
Both have two daughters
Both men did hard drugs
Both elected by the media and stupid people.
Both less qualified than their opponents
Both stole Florida
Yep Bush 3.0
He’s gonna get a machete upside his head in THIS Dominican jungle.
Oh Afrocity you are a genius!
THIS is what kills me.
Black people were not having Obama until Clyburn and Obama crew parsed Bill Clinton’s words.
We all know that Big Dawg referred to Iraq – but NO. They made it seem that Big Dawg was a jealous r__cist.
I’ll never forgive them for that. BIll Clinton has done more for Black people inside and outside the US of A than Obama will ever do in a lifetime.
He didn’t even care to get his aunt help for a green card until AFTER British journalists called him out on it!
His African grandmother lives in a hut.
His 1/2 brother lives in a shantytown.
C’mon now. Really. Who can you really trust?
Meanwhile not one black person that I asked could tell me who Michael Steele was. or Ron Brown.
Thanks SM, I’m popping in and out, gotta make dinner for the family before my bread-winning sister gets home.
SM — I sent a little something your way via the pay pal on your site — buy a little something for PUMA cub from her auntie angie!
fuzzy — are you going to listen to the View from Under the Bus’s special edition tomorrow at 9:00 EST? We need our “fan base.” LOL
What is (I was going to say the “most,” but that is hyperbole) really distressing about this whole situation is that we all knew, hell, many B0 voters knew, that The One was, essentially, an entertainer. A celebrity. For some reason (which may have made sense pre-9/11 but anybody who is NOT an idiot would feel differently), it was supposed to be “OK” to install somebody who would basically be a figurehead, a shiny face, a caretaker. Because he would be surrounded by “smart people” (or, if you have a sense of history, the “best and the brightest”).
Well, how did that work out during the last administration?
Yep, Afrocity is right: Bush 3.0. (Except IMHO we got a better Secretary of State this time!)
Campbell Brown: Tonight on No Bull. No Bias. We are going to listen to President Obama admit he made a mistake in choosing Tom Daschle while I kiss his b@ll sac.
SM, when it dawned on me that Axelrod was sending emails to the footsoldiers at all the media, academic, finance and government institutions since the beginning and was continuing to do so, since their big mega-donations came in as small individual donations, I had a head slapping moment. So simple, so insidious, so smart. Damn!
I’ll be there angie! fuzzy better be too.

Yea right!!! It was my fault..(crossing his fingers)..this is what he said:
WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Barack Obama on Tuesday admitted he made a mistake in handling the nomination of Tom Daschle as his Health and Human Services secretary, saying Daschle’s tax problems sent a message that the politically powerful are treated differently than average people.”
He is right about that..the average person would have had his wadges attached, a lien on the house and then sent to jail to meet Bubba in the shower. What a jerk!!!
Not handling, in picking that ass.
It took him HOW fricking long to figure this out?
GOD.
i am not sure what the mistake was, he thinks tom was perfect for the job.
so what was the mistake, the perception of him, i guess. which is most important afterall.

Great analogy.
How about a quickie divorce?
Ashley Judd is after Sarah Palin with this ad:
afrocity, it occurred to me that the similarity between Barky and Bushy (at least behavior-wise), could originate with the likely possibility that Barky has only had one role model to look “up” to when it comes to presidents, since, with his famous laziness and lack of deference to anything, he probably never paid any attention to previous administrations. He learned all he needed to know about being POTUS from the master, shrub.
Ashley should get back to me after SHE gets elected governor of a state. With no help from the family money.

Ashley Judd is as relevant as a pet rock.
I would think Obama would see Bush as a peer rather than someone to look up to. They both come from the same status quo Ivy League, feeling of entitlement background. Both rely upon charm and a smile to get by. Both like to play “white house” rather than actually doing anything.
Would people leave Sarah Palin alone already? Election season is over. She wouldn’t even be worth all this effort if she weren’t a threat. They know that she’s putting together a war chest and building a coalition. They know she’s dangerous to their little O Haven.

Actually, I figure that the reason we never got a look at the elusive birth certificate is that BO is really GHW’s or Babs’ little accident.
By their ears ye shall know them.
Then that makes BO another one of GHW’s pissed off sons. He’s picked his son and me thinks he’s leaving his legacy to the Big Dawg. (I love how protective Big D is off Papa Bush. Come on, it’s a little bit “awww.”) They seem far closer than the GWs.
See this is what ran me away from the left. The Limousine Liberals and hypocrisy. I have 4 animals from shelters, I wear make up and don’t care what company tests on what. Wolves in Alaska??? I am willing to bet that no one gave a DAMN about the state of Alaska until Sarah came along.
Two things kept me beholden to the Left. Roe v. Wade and my being black. I had friends making me feel like a murderer because I was not vegan, hating us because we did not want an inheritance tax, griping because I celebrated Christmas.
They were also mad about something. Then you get the best candidate for POTUS and you backstab her.
I said eff the left and the DNC.
I feel so much better.
Regency
That’ll be out the window if Jeb runs. Last year Barbara even said Jeb’s next.
Not that Bill’s his son but he sees him as a son.
Reg — that is because even though they disagree on politics, Big Dawg & GHWB can actually have an intelligent conversation with each other.
PJ: Jeb doesn’t even want to run for Senate in FL. Is he really up for the Presidency?
plainjane — the only running Jeb should be doing in on the treadmill.

Angie: Yup and Big D is kind to him too. Remember that story about when they were traveling after the tsunami? There was only one plane on el aeroplano so Bill agreed to sleep on the floor and let Papa Bush sleep on the bed. Now, I know that was just good home training, but you know, for a red neck that was pretty impressive.

*sigh* one bed on the plane.
Okay, kids, I was out all day. What’d I miss? (Heh.)
Looks like another burst of hopium leaked outta the O-balloon with Daschle’s sudden exit . Gosh, that’s just heartbreaking, ya know? That sucker’s gonna be flatter than a pancake before April 15, the day when powerful Dems all over the Village celebrate their inner creativity, or rather that of high priced accountants. You know, the kind of talent not available to us little folk.
And so the Diss-A-Clinton Curse continues. Hah!
Geithner need to go, Diss-A-Clinton be damned.
‘More than twenty thousand Dutch people helped to hide Jews and others in need of hiding during those years. I willingly did what I could to help. My husband did as well. It was not enough.
There is nothing special about me. I have never wanted special attention. I was only willing to do what was asked of me and what seemed necessary at the time. When I was persuaded to tell my story, I had to think of the place that Anne Frank holds in history and what her story has come to mean for the many millions of people who have been touched by it. I’m told that every night when the sun goes down, somewhere in the world the curtain is going up on the stage play made from Anne’s diary. Taking into consideration the many printings of Het Achterhuis (“The Annex”) – published in English as Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl – and the many translations that have been made of Anne’s story, her voice has reached the far edges of the earth.‘
Quoted from the Prologue of the book Anne Frank Remembered. The Story of the Woman Who Helped to Hide the Frank Family. By Miep Gies with Alison Gold. Simon and Schuster, New York 1987. A new edition of the book is expected for early 2009.
Regency,
It would seem that Palin Derangement Syndrome is alive and well. The “Defenders of Wildlife” have hired Judd as their spokesperson.
They have a website called EyeOnPalin.org. Not DefendWildlife, ProtectWolves, or anything related to their supposed cause, just EyeOnPalin.org.
I guess that speaks to their real agenda, the continued negative focus on Sarah Palin. It makes me sick.
Brilliant post! And wonderful comments. Everyone’s on tonite.
It doesn’t have to be four years – impeachment is an option if it come from the ground up.
I would ask why they are killing those animals – it seems to me that they may be a threat to humans – but I’m not sure – and if Ashley knew what she was actually doing she’d probably leave Sarah alone.
From now on when an issue that we feel strongly about we need to make sure that PUMA land activates and sends emails and phone calls to their elected reps – after a few of those hit the fan they will start listening to their contituents – Americans have been too complacent and we’ve let them get away with highway robbery.
I want my money back or at least put to good use.

This little snip of news got buried on a Sat. news release.
” WASHINGTON, Jan 31 (Reuters) – The Obama administration is not likely to impose tougher restrictions on executive pay on most firms receiving aid under the government’s $700 billion financial rescue program, the Washington Post reported on Saturday.
Citing a source familiar with the administration’s deliberations, the Post said officials are concerned that harsh limits could discourage some firms from asking for aid.”
http://www.reuters.com/article/bondsNews/idUSN3139921320090131
That’s Obama logic for ya…don’t want to deprive the Wall Street crooks of their billions in bonuses because if we do, they won’t take free tax payer’s money…Jeebus
Joanelle-I think they kill the wolves because they eat caribou. Alaskans want to kill the caribou themselves. Also, tourists come to kill the caribou. I like Sarah but I think that aerial killing she supports is barbaric. Nature would keep the wolves and caribou in balance unless man and development are intervening. Defenders of Wildllife has the right to speak out. I don’t think it’s politically motivated. It’s a wildlife issue.

Yes, there used to be something called class and respect, something that has been lost in the new frat house atmosphere of the BO administration… and yes, I call him BO because he stinks
I think there’s hope. Obot dad was crowing about his “political genius” in nominating gregg before he found out about the deal. Now he’s quietly emerging from his stupor
I am cracking up here. I am watching the Hannity show on Fox and this black guy on the panel just said that 96% of black people are racists and the whites who voted for Obama did it out of White guilt. He goes on to say that black democratic politicians have destroyed the AA community. The white panelists have their mouths dropped open.
I love Fox news (munching on caramel popcorn in front of the fireplace with my plasma TV and two cats)
Joan –it is overly simplistic to say the “people of Alaska want to kill the caribou themselves.” The people of Alaska hunt & eat the caribou — it isn’t like there is a store within a 5 mile radius from everyone’s home up there. People, however, don’t eat wolves. So, if the wolves eat all the caribou there will not be enough for the people. Animal population control conservation and the need of people for food is a complex balance. I seriously doubt Ashley Judd knows what she is talking about other than “oh nooes! they’re killing those pretty wolves!”
Haven’t read the comments here yet but fantastic writing CINIE!
That makes sense – I’d give money to save the wolves, but not “eyeonpalin.org” – gimme a break

👿
And besides being classy, elderj, it’s also politicAlly smart. Talking smack about your own party members for no reason is demoralizing and depresses turnout. But frat boys like rahm love it, so let’s act like bratty infants and alienate half our voters
Why, thank you, Scrubs.
So “harsh limits could discourage some firms from asking for aid”?
Well, I not only think there should be limits on executive pay, I think that ANY bank that took taxpayer money and gave ANY bonuses at all to ANY bank executive, or bought ANY sponsorship in ANY sporting event, should have to GIVE THE MONEY BACK. That’s not what the money was intended for.
I for one will be terribly un-politically correct and say that I don’t give a flying fig about caribou. I bet they taste good and I don’t car if you hunt them from a helicopter, a ski-lift, the back of a pickup truck, or from inside the Starship Enterprise, as long as they aren’t hunted to extinction (stewardship of creation and all that).
elderj, not exactly p.c., but funny as all get out.
Can my comment at 8:31 be let out of moderation?
McCain is on Tv now talking about the stimulus. He looks terribly tired and has lost a lot of weight. I hope he is okay.
I don’t care either Elderj.
Can I make a commercial with people shooting black men from a helicopter and say. Just say No to Malt Liquor.
I don’t have the power, Afrocity, we need one of the big kids to come along. Sorry.
I love the new handle elderj — and I agree — I eat Venison (aka deer) & duck on a regular basis (my dearly departed grandfather was a hunter, and my cousin carries on the tradition. If I’m ever in Alaska I’ll eat caribou too.
I used to have a bumper sticker on my old car “Save the People” I need to get another one of those.
Cinie, you should be able to … go over there, check it as approved, then do the bulk action approve … if it’s on your thread, you should be able to pull it out of sp@m and out of moderation …sometimes it takes a few tries
btw — I do give money monthly to the WWF to save the Polar Bear — so, I give a little back. And I would never eat an animal on the endangered species list even if it tasted better than bacon (and there ain’t nothing that tastes better than bacon!)
do people actually eat caribou?
dak — yep, when Greta interviewed Palin she made caribou chili & caribou hot dogs & they discussed how they always gave what “extra” meat they had to some elderly neighbors & how for many people in Alaska (because of the isolation from stores, etc) caribou was the only meat they eat.
Somebody, please congratulate me. I just finished the second draft of my disseration! I’m free free free for about one day!
OK, going back to read the post and comments.

well, guess you learn something new every day
dak — if it crawls, swims, flies or slithers on its belly some one somewhere eats it! LOL

I think I’ll take refuge in that site just so I can hear what our foreign President (so aptly named on this site) is doing. Nice comment there too re Daschle:
All I have to say (right now…still need coffee) is that the Clintons paid their taxes!
dakinikat, (singing at the top of my voice) I am woman, hear me roar…
my daughter’s status line in her facebook profile says she intends to bring 13 teenagers here for mardi gras and is followed by something about me going crazy … i have an 1000 square foot shotgun house … what am i going to do with that many teenagers for several days and is there enough wine on the planet to help me?

dak — the good thing about the youngens is they don’t mind sleeping on the floor (no bad backs & all) LOL
over at hillbuzz there’s a post advocating for a tax free year – something this conservative can definitely support!!
Cinie,
What a great post! How did you get to be so smart? I’m trying to keep up with the posts at “Cinie’s World” when I can too. You are brilliant–and funny–a perfect combination.
angie: well the girls are going into the em’s room and the boys get the front room … and i warned them I have two twin beds and two sofas, and the rest are on the floor!

dakini — forget the wine…you’re going to need straight bourbon
elderrj: take it you don’t plan on being around when that big ol’ deficit bill comes due?
Thanks SOD! I appreciate the high five!
Dakini, I have to finish the defense by sometime around the middle of April. I just hope I can do everything in time. I haven’t scheduled it yet. My advisor will probably want me to do a couple more drafts, plus I am going to have to run all my stats again before I’m done.
Elderj…but who will pay that woman’s mortgage and put gas in her car!??

(southern comfort was invited by a new orleans bartender).
SOD- don’t worry; the caribou are safe right now.. I’m along way from AK

Janis Joplin’s drink of choice.
Thank you, Cinie, Katiebird, Afrocity, and Angie. I’m reading the comments backwards. I still haven’t figured out why everyone is talking about caribou.
I’m just so excited, even though I still have a lot more work to do!
I just wasn’t sure if Southern Comfort was strong enough for the task! Isn’t that a cordial? dak needs something just shy of gasoline.
Aw, BB, my mother told me whenever I get a compliment to consider the source. Considering the source, I’m flattered. That goes for everybody, too.
Thank you.
afrocity — I LOVE prince — I never go on a road trip with out my Prince Greatest Hits vol. 1 & 2 & Prince is what is on my mp3 player.

btw — anyone watch the show Leverage? I love it.
Okay, is Obama merely naive or just plain incompetent so far? I am having a difficult time trying to figure out the symbol of all the hope and change he promised to bring into DC. The breath of fresh air that was just going to happen if we would just set aside our skepticism and roll him over the finish line.
So far he has had to leave the WH, “just to get away”, while only having spent two friggin weeks so far in residence. His first 3 appointees have “tax problems” and the “stimulus” package, packed with pork ain’t going nowhere.
He has kissed the asses of the Repubs who paid for this privilege by landing one right into his man parts and we are supposed to look upon these events as “historic”?
Historic all right if it means that in less than two weeks he has shown he is nothing but froth.
I thought when that first came up that it was pointed out that Palin didn’t authorize those aerial shoots, that it was the US Dept. of Wildlife management or some such.

elderj — LMAO!!
Some genius pundit said tonight that Obama “set the bar too high” when announced on the campaign trail that he was going to change DC and the usual way of doing business.
Set the bar too high???? For God’s sake is it too much to ask that our representatives have a shred of decency and integrity and are not on the payroll of some lobbying firm and pay their taxes like everybody else? Is that setting the bar too high?
How long are they going to find ways to explain his lack of experience and know how by suggesting that he “set the bar too high”? And how low must that bar be set for him to meet the goals?
Sorry, I am talking to myself here but when I witness the stupidity of the comments coming from people who should know better I want to scream.

I spent the evening with a group of Obamapologists who said “My God…how can they expect him to find anyone without tax problems in Washington??? They just want to complain about him…there isn’t anyone in DC with out a little dirt.”
I said (cough cough) the Clintons?
(crickets)
It is bad enough we are watching a public display of those cabinet members who must face a panel prior to confirmation. Just think of those who are hired who do not have to meet that public scrutiny that he has placed in other key positions.
The whole group are more than likely familiar with how to scam the IRS while quietly writing policy for the rest of us to adhere to.
And now they want to do away with immigration background checks in the workplace. OMG!!!
Pat J — you are not talking to yourself — I hear ya — it is amazing the WORMing that is going on, but hey, Obama himself said that we can’t expect him to keep his campaign promises and if the great Obama says it we must accept it. (rolls eyes) People are such morons I want a new classification for myself & the rest of us here — I believe we must be a higher life form. SHV — you are super smart — can you back me up on this?
Angie,
Did you see Kutcher’s “apology?”
Pat J – where did you see this?
bb — no way??? where is that??
FYI from an earlier thread-
atthe age of 88 Miep Gies gave an online interview to children all over the world that is truely moving the questions they ask and the answers she gives are amazing.
She never considered herself a hero for what she did below is a tidbit from the interview:
If you had to hide the Franks again, would you do it?
Yes, I would help again. Although, some people (rightfully) state that I could have not saved Anne’s life, I still helped her to live another two years. During these years she wrote her wonderful diary, touching the heart of millions of people and inspiring them. Because I could rescue this diary, it was not a lost effort. From this we learn that it is always better to try. Sure failure results from not trying. My decision to help Otto was because I saw no alternative. I could foresee many sleepless nights and an unhappy life if I would refuse. And that was not the kind of future I wanted to for myself. Permanent remorse about failing to do your human duty, in my opinion, can be worse than losing your life.
If only our polititians today felt the same responsibility to human dignity, Hillary would be President.
the Link for those interested in the whole interview:

SOD: Lou Dobbs. He had a panel on tonight talking about this and one of the panel, Joe Madison a black radio talk show host, was very upset. Said this is the wrong thing to do and he was a big Obama supporter from the beginning. Very concerning.
SOD — better yet, you should point out that W managed to do it. (find appointees without tax problems).
Do these Obots not understand the concept of “vetting?” Must not, considering they didn’t give a damn about vetting Obama. But hey, we have a President who “looks black” (h/t Cinie — I’m still LMAO over that one) so everything is copacetic. (cause you know those morons all use that word).

Hey AngieNC2 –
dont forget the outline for tommorrows special edition of “The View from Under the Bus”
For those who missed it Miep Gies was the woman responsible for helping the Family of Otto Frank survive in hiding for two years in German Occupied Netherlands. Because of her efforts Anne’s Diary Survived and has benn an inspiration to millions.
Miep Gies turns 100 years old on February 15th 2009-
she is the last survivor of the Franks Drama in the attic that Anne imortalized in her famous diary.
SOD — is that a sexual reference? (flour on Lohan’s fur). I’m against hating on La Lohan. Have you seen her mother? The girl has turned out better than I expected.
OK…I have an incredibly early meeting tomorrow about 2 hours away so I better get to sleep! Nite Y’all.
Don’t kill any animals while I’m gone…
I have to say that sitting through the WH Daily Briefing with Robert Gibbs is quite painful. Boring to say the least.
I thought Scott McClellan was bad and Tony Snow used to make my skin crawl. Then Dana Perino came along and convinced me that beauty and brains don’t always mix. But Gibbs could replace Sominex and no one would notice.
Totally lacking in the charisma department.
fuzzy — call me “angie” please — we’re friends! Are you going to listen? We need our “fan base” (and you are it!) LOL
Can I have a conservative Puma radio show with ElderJ????
ANGIE!!! NO!! LOL…you know me…I love the animals! I detest fur (did you know they skin animals while they are still alive and throw them on a pile still breathing?)
Yep…they do. So thus my comment.

Watch out Hannity. Here comes Afrocity.
Pat, Robert Gibbs reminds me of Tom Arnold, for some reason.
Angie can have her own show:
Order in the Jungle
You can talk about legal issues.
I love it when you talk legal !!
btw — for those of you who don’t want to link to read the Ashton story — here is what he twittered about his neighbor who was disturbing his sleep (please remember — he made the “I pledge to Obama” video full of platitudes about helping his neighbors and other such “rhetoric”):
this SOB owl feces cougar placenta jack bone dick! about
Jack ass 7am building a god damn fort next to my house f’in up my view and noise polluting the entire f’in nieghborhood with pounding steal about
holy moly I’m gonna lose it!
this ass clown has another thing coming!
I’m gonna kill my neighbor!
Cinie — ooh, Tom Arnold — low blow! LOL
I watched the link Angie. He is a pinhead. They just built a 35 story skyscraper across the street from me. It bothered me but if you are really tired you will sleep through it. As big as his house is, I am surprised that he can be disturbed that much.
I was just reading the text of Gov. Palin’s state of the state address. she discusses the economy and gives some serious, well thought and good solutions. this woman is awesome. nothing at all like what we’re hearing from BO. Her speech is optimistic and calls for the best from the people. the more i read about her, the more i like her. wow!!!
Ashton Kutcher’s “apology.” What an idiot. He says “uh..” almost as often as his messiah.
http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=269243
I am serious about that radio show elderj.
I would also like to see Angie do something solo discussing cases. I wish there were more lawyers on here
I am not a lawyer but I am quite opinionated. Does that count?
are u sure you want to hear my voice.? I’m not sure what I would have to say on a radio show.
Pat do you like to argue?

Yes I watch Leverage. It is a good show.
The other fairly new show I like is Damages. You never know what will happen next. It does keep you guessing.

Gov Palin says:
“Alaska will help achieve energy independence and security for our country, and we can lead with a long-needed energy plan for America. But let us begin with energy security for ourselves.
This includes meeting my goal of generating 50 percent of our electric power with renewable sources. That’s an unprecedented policy across the U.S, but we’re the state that can do it with our abundant renewables, and with Alaskan ingenuity.”
That is awesome!
Out prowling around in the blogosphere, I came across some interesting items. Afrocity, this one’s for you. I like that Steele is not genuflecting at the feet of the False Emperor like everyone else:
Republican leader vows to mix it up with Obama
With Steele, the Republican Party has turned to someone who is markedly different from his recent predecessors in style and temperament. He is brash, takes chances that occasionally get him in trouble, and clearly relishes the idea of being portrayed as the fighting counterpoint to President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.
The new face of the Republican Party does not seem to share the hunger for bipartisanship that Obama has made one of the touchstones of his first weeks in office. That became clear from the moment Steele took the job Friday, as he all but invited the president of the United States to join him in the boxing ring.
“It’s going to be an honor to spar with him,” he said, before throwing down the gauntlet to Obama with a quotation from, apparently, an in-your-face late-1980s rap song by Kool Moe Dee: “How ya like me now?”
http://www.iht.com/articles/2009/02/03/america/steele.4-422348.php
Pat J — you should guest host with us tomorrow — madamab has a laryngitis & can’t make it. Wanna do it? the show is 9:00 p.m. EST — 8:00 p.m CST. Seriously we would LOVE to have you on.
I would want to hear your voice elderj!! (as long as it doesn’t turn out to be high pitched & squeaky — I imagine it deep & smoky).
my voice is actually pretty good
helen — I love Damages!!! Glenn Close is so awesome in that part (and, btw, she looks great!)
These two also made me think: this guy is in so FAR OVER HIS HEAD! He is stumbling around, making a mess. There was another headline that said, “BO takes a break after a bad day,” and showed him reading to kids. My Pet Goat anyone?

Analysis: Daschle debacle humbles Obama
WASHINGTON – Two weeks into his presidency, Barack Obama proved that even a clearly gifted politician cannot escape the gravitational pull of Washington forces that have humbled many of his predecessors.
The new president, seen by some as arrogant, was anything but on Tuesday.
“I screwed up,” Obama said repeatedly during a series of TV interviews. “I take responsibility for this mistake.”

elderj — LOL! fishing for compliments!
Elizabeth Edwards is writing a book about her life and “the affair”. These people will do anything to stay in the public eye and make a few dollars while they are at it.
Don’t they ever consider the effect this may have on their children? It amazes me that people are so willing to open up their private lives for the sake of entertainment. She will be all over every show when it comes out, a la Blago, and to what purpose?
For a woman I once admired, I have some serious reservations as to what this will serve in the long run.
Elderj sounds like Barry White!!!!
Hmmm is there another GOP Puma out there???
fif: I love Michael Steele
btw — How un-effing-“presidential” is it for the President of the United States of America to say “I screwed up” – what’s next? “I f*cked up?” I told that to my mom & she said “well, he’s the guy who gave Hillary the finger, so what do you expect?” She’s right.
Pat has a great voice! Please do it Pat!
bb: I’m kidding. I sound like Penny Marshall doing Laverne.
Pat, her writing that book means she is “okay” with his cheating. That way he can run for office again. I hate Edwards. My relatives in Iowa voted for him and had it not been for him maybe we would have won the caucus for Hillary.
“It’s going to be an honor to spar with him,” he said, before throwing down the gauntlet to Obama with a quotation from, apparently, an in-your-face late-1980s rap song by Kool Moe Dee: “How ya like me now?”
fif — my money is definitely on Steele.
Elderj,
Call into the show tomorrow night so we can hear what you sound like!
Pat,
I’ve heard your voice and I love it.
In honor of Steele’s election to chair of the RNC:
But Angie, he sounded so articulate when he said “I screwed up”
angienc said: “How un-effing-”presidential” is it for the President of the United States of America to say “I screwed up” – what’s next? “I f*cked up?” I told that to my mom & she said “well, he’s the guy who gave Hillary the finger, so what do you expect?” She’s right.”
He is cool.. so it is ok. We’ve entered the world of total disregard for the office. He doesn’t even realize that it is inappropriate for an almost 50 year old man to be talking that way
I’m very disappointed in Elizabeth Edwards. John I have no hope for at all.
Pat, you forgot that he gave a bunch of fluff interviews about how helping the kids with homework comes first. When you’re as ill informed as Obama, answering softballs is exhausting
afrocity: And she knew about that affair as she stood next to him, encouraging him to run for president. That is the worst part for me. She had to have known that this stuff was much too juicy to be contained and yes, his being in the race siphoned off votes that would have gone to Hillary.
Both are nothing but craven opportunists who deserve nothing more than to go back into the shadows and remain out of the public domain.
rocking out to Kool Moe Dee
Yep, Pat. I’m sure she knew. Very disappointing.
I spent the evening with a group of Obamapologists who said “My God…how can they expect him to find anyone without tax problems in Washington???
WTF?! But you DON’T PUT A TAX CHEAT IN CHARGE OF THE IRS!?!
The level of constant justification, rationalization and denial is truly mind-boggling.
The people running the government on both sides of the aisle make me sick. A nest of incestuous relationships that need to be untangled but that will only come with term limits which is about as viable now as UHC. Ain’t going to happen.
Don’t they ever consider the effect this may have on their children? It amazes me that people are so willing to open up their private lives for the sake of entertainment.
You are so right Pat J — my mother would be appalled — every time anything happened in her family (from as little as her buying a new lamp to the “big stuff”) she would always remind us “And that’s nobody’s business” LOL — her biggest fear was that we would do something bad/scandalous and “they will put us in the newspaper!!”
Just finished reading Palin’s state of the state address. This: http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com/2009/01/23/sarah-palins-2009-state-of-the-state-address-to-alaska/#more-10086
is what a leader sounds like
Fif,
Just when I think my mind can’t be boggled one more time, the Obots push the limit and I’m boggled all over again.
Elderj,
I saw Palin’s address. It was great and Todd was in the audience feeding Trig.
angie: Damages is great! Even better this season with William Hurt & Glenn sparring.
what is the deal o Damages? Is Glenn Close that girls mom. Why did she try to kill her? I saw the promo.
something else — back when reality tv shows were first taking off this idiot girl we knew (we actually called her “Stupid Mary” — not to her face of course — as opposed to our other friend “Fat Mary” — why did they get rid of purgatory — I’m going straight to hell). Anyway Stupid Mary actually tried out to be on this moronic reality show called Temptation Island (she didn’t make the cut) I told my mom about the premise of the show & could she believe Stupid Mary would actually try to get on that show? My mom said to me (with real begging & horror in her eyes): “You know I will always love you no matter what you do. You could literally kill me & I will love you. But please, swear to me, no matter what happens in your life, you will never go on one of those shows.” LOL– I still laugh when I think about it — she actually made me put my hand on the icon & swear it, too!
bb: I know! They absolutely, positively re-fuse to see anything deceptive, weak or lacking in this guy. They’re sitting around making excuses for a series of tax evaders? Worse, one of them was just nominated to head the IRS? Makes us look more and more sane all the time.
oh Angie…you’ll have to summarize Damages for Afrocity. Last season was like a riddle wrapped in a puzzle, mixed with an enigma. They play a lot with timelines and the narrative, so you never know exactly what’s going on and who is doing what to whom–but it all comes together as the season unfolds.
OMG! Have you seen this story about Ted Haggard? What a sicko. Warning explict.
http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=9329
Does Obama have one friend who is not under indictment, under investigation, pays taxes? And are we to believe that he himself is above all this? Talk about mind boggling.
afrocity — did you watch last year? But no, she isn’t that girl’s mother — it is difficult to follow because they go back & forth on the time line until the very end (helps build the suspense, I think). She tried to kill that girl because the girl was having second thoughts last year about some black mailing they did that caused this really nice (but repressed homosexual) attorney to kill himself.
fif — yes! William Hurt rocks– all the actors on that show are pretty outstanding. I loved Ted Danson last year — it was such a shock when his character turned out to be so bad! The show is full of surprises!
Pat look at this cartoon. It will answer your question about Obama. I want to frame this:
Pat,
We knew he was more corrupt than Nixon, Bush, or Bush II. Why are you surprised? I’m just surpised the media aren’t covering everything up for him anymore.
Speaking of corruption, Tony Rezko has been moved out of solitary and into more comfortable surroundings, location secret, because he is talking on an on and on about Blago scandal. Please let him give up Obama too!
http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/rezko/1410250,CST-NWS-rezko03.article
I really hope the Republicans will fight back when the Democrats try to make everything about their war on Palin.
afrocity: Pretty awful but funny!
BB,
The media could not afford to cover up for him anymore. Ratings and newspaper sales WAY down. They are such tools.
Afrocity, LOL!
And Ted Haggard used to speak weekly with Bush on behalf of the Evangelicals if you remember. Sick, sick, sick.
Did anyone see Blago on Greta tonight? He said they offered him a deal of two years pay if he did not appoint a senator.
afrocity — I love that cartoon — I bought my brother (an avid golfer) a t-shirt years ago that was “the evolution of man” first was a cave man swining a club, next was a Knight in armor swinging a mace, and last was a golfer swinging a nine iron. I still love that one.
afrocity — yeah, but unlike everyone else in politics he uses the “f” word so he’s crazy as a loon! (rolls eyes)
My son in law thinks the only reason Blago is making the tv rounds is to stay alive. He thinks that Blago has the “goods” on Obama, much more than Rezko, and by keeping himself in the media he will not be assassinated.
He thinks this is Blago’s way of “speaking directly” to Obama.
I love my son in law but I am not sure about this.
re Haggard….
he is an embarrassment to evangelicals everywhere. I was telling a friend the other day that he could very simply retire from public ministry and life, go get a regular job, and live out the rest of his life however he chooses, but that anyone who has to be in the spotlight like that has serious problems
Ted Haggard — after weeks at a prayer retreat I know I am not a homosexual (I’m just a straight guy who likes to s*ck another man’s _____). LMAO! I think he even beats Obama on the lack of self-awareness meter.
elderj — no joke! at least Jimmy Swaggart was sleeping with women in those sleazy motel rooms on Airline Hwy (and I’m from NOLA so I’ve know about those Airline Hwy motels — they rent by the hour!)
Angie, I know the shirt. I got one or Mr. Afrocity. He has a lot of golf humor stuff.
I wish I could get that cartoon on T-shirt and wear it around Chicago but I would need the artists permission. The funny part is that Daley is the lowest of the low and he had the nerve to call Blago cuckoo. The artist shows Daley crawling from the cesspool..So accurate.
Haggard is truly a man living a life of quiet desperation. Cannot come to terms with his true nature and stands before the congregation as a man of God. His life is one of inner torment but he is another who must leave the world stage and quietly disappear from view. The daily drama is not worth it.
Pat J — I don’t know — that theory passes my tin foil hat test.
Nite all!
BTW: I have joined a group of Dem activists on a “Truth Squad” (like the one that was set up to defend Hillary distortions and lies in the press) for Kirsten Gillibrand in NY. The NY Times & other downstate media are doing exactly what they did to HC & Palin, trying to mischaracterize her positions and voting record immediately to discredit her. If anyone comes across posts/articles about her in your travels, please let me know so we can respond. All part of the 51% solution. The more I learn about Gillibrand, the more I like her. She is very strong, independent, and sincere. She does extensive research, listens to constituents, and then makes very informed (and often courageous) choices. Sometimes, this has flown directly in the face of Party leaders like Spitzer, Pelosi et. al. and she was only in Congress 2 years. They are deliberately lying about her record on guns, immigration and gay rights. She is a true progressive, and has great potential. She needs our support.
Thanks 🙂
excuse my typing tonight. My “F” key is sticking.
to the church’s credit, they did the right thing by him — they suspended him; got him some counseling, tried to help him and the guy (a kid really) in the church he was foolin’ around with. apparently he didn’t want to go along with what the church so he’s running around making a fool of himself.
afrocity — write to the artist — he can do up the shirts on cafe press & you can pay for one — other people might buy them too.
night fif!
angie: I guess coming from the Chicago Machine anything is possible. This is a real life drama played out like a Soprano episode but I am not sure if my SIL is not overdramitizing a bit.
Pat J — the thing that amazes me the most about Haggard (and others like him) is why do they rage so much against homosexuals!?!?!?! Don’t they know they are gay themselves?!?! Just STFU about it for crying out loud.
I am turning in.
Black Ann Coulter signing off
(afrocity jumps on her broomstick)
night afrocity!!
Pat J — are you co-hosting with us tomorrow on the radio show?
nite afrocity; nite fif
angie: Because homosexuality is considered an abomination by most religions and when you are preaching against it, as he did, then you have to at least pretend to buy into the premise. He lives a life of torment which I would not wish on anyone. The contradictions must pull him apart and he is wandering in a sea of utter confusion. But he needs to go.
angie: I prefer to listen.
Angie,
It’s called reaction formation. It’s a psychological defense mechanism in which a person unconsciously supresses knowledge about something they are ashamed of by attacking others who are doing the thing they wish they could do. It also happens when a person is ashamed of feeling negative toward someone (like a parent), so they in public they go way over the top praising the person. It’s a very strange defense mechanism, but it happens a lot.
I laughed out loud when he described himself as “a heterosexual with issues.” LOL
Pat J — I set up the Oscar game.
Unfortunately, the oscar game website has been “updated” this year & it is a pain in the butt. However, I think I created a group for us –unfortunately the group’s name is angienc2’s group. The group ID is 1759. Please go to http://www.oscar.com; click on “play along;” create an account or log in; click on “friends” and it will ask you to put the ID in for the private group you want to join. If any one has trouble with this, let me know. Ok?
once you do all that nonsense you can make your predictions (and the set up is really, really bad this year — not like other years)
bb: Thanks for putting a name on it. Makes sense.
night fif! night afrocity! Be well and stay out of Millenium park, whaever that is. The sculpture was vandalized.
PJ – you’re very gracious, but I don’t have much pity for Haggard. What he has done and continues to do has less to do with homosexuality and more to do with his own lack of self control. Adultery is wrong no matter what gender you step out of your spouse with. It was wrong for him to abuse his position of trust with the young man at the church. It was wrong for him to try to be “above” the church’s process which was designed to help him figure out what to do with himself and his marriage. It is wrong for him to be flying about making videos.
Sexuality is a complicated thing, as is religion. Integrity however, is simple
btw — everyone please join in on the oscar game in our group!
bb & Pat J — yeah, I know “the lady doeth protest too much” and all that — but these guys don’t just condemn it — they make it their personal crusade to stamp out homosexuality — it is just so hypocritical it galls me. I can understand “being in the closet” because I’m not gay so I don’t know what it is like to “come out” but I have no sympathy for leading a double life like that — and even less when “hating the gays” is a person like that’s raison d’etre.
Sexuality is a complicated thing, as is religion. Integrity however, is simple
See why elderj is so great? straight, clear & to the point yet powerful & full of depth.
elderj nailed it once again. Short, sweet, and to the point.
and on that note ladies, I bid you a fond bon nuit!
Night elderj!!
see — he even knows how to exit on a high note! LOL
I have to hit the sack too. Goodnight everyone!
I have to get up at the crack of dawn and shovel snow….
WTF? There’s a ill in SC to give everyone a piad holiday for Confederate Day r some such hing. Is it too much to ask the Obama will at least take a sand on that?
night bb! I’m going soon myself.
Seriously — uh, is it controversial? Then I count on a “present’ vote. Of course, SC went to McCain by something like 70% so maybe he will. No voters to sway there. LOL
Knowing him, he’ll probably be like, “This is a great idea, we must all come together, we are all Americans, even when we want to opt out of America….” Weasel!
ElderJ,
The more I learned about Sarah Palin during the general, the more I liked her too. She is much more thoughtful, intelligent, and politically sophisticated than nearly everyone made her out to be. And as far as I can tell, she doesn’t try to legislate her views on abortion. I think if she were a Democrat, we would never have even heard about her views on abortion, which are apparently not that far from Joe Biden’s or Harry Reid’s.
I’m a lesbian woman, professional occupation, living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Did I ever take flak for my admiration of Palin? You betcha.
OMFG! did you all see that Violet Sock was somehow forced to remove her magnificent letter to Ms. Magazine “Where’s your superman now?” re: Obama’s sc*wing of poor women in the bailout bill by the blog owners? Talk about censorship! Scary, scary sh!t is going down.
Well, I just hope the Republicans are going to have her back this time. They act like they love her, but they had to know that if McCain went down she’d be blamed, they really hung her out to dry imo.
EricaLeight — Palin probably doesn’t try to legislate her views on abortion because, unlike Dear Leader & his “Imperial Presidency” she understands that little thing in the Constitution about the separate branches of government — the executive branch doesn’t make the laws (that’s for the legislative branch) it just enforces them.
For a “Constitutional lawyer” Obama’s knowledge of the Constitution seems pretty flimsy. Of course, saying that must make me a r@c!st.
angie, someone on that thread said allegre said Kim Gandy said what could Pelosi amd Waxman do, they can’t tell the wh to go to hell.
Separation of Powers–look into it, Kim.
Now, now, Separation of Powers is for Democracies.
Good point–we’re an empty suit of awesomeness!
Seriously — as Valhalla said on the last thread: “can we please go back to teaching civics in schools? Please?” That is exactly what the Congress is supposed to do to the WH — sure the President has the power of veto & of the “bully pulpit” but DAYUM! He isn’t supposed to be writing the laws. Force the veto on his punk a$$ — if past behavior is any indication, he will fold like a cheap suit & sign it.
I also love how Obama threw the woman with the $900 tax lien under the bus while teh entire Senate is still keening over what an upstanding guy Daschele is. “Messiah Can Burn Away Any Sin Save Original Sin.”
Yep, meanwhile the other tax cheat is now in charge of making sure we pay our taxes. The world has gone mad!
Angie, how many executive orders did BO sign on his first day, 5? I heard that was unprecedented. Doesn’t anyone on the left worry that he is acting more like a monarch than a president?
And you know what also p!sses me off — how the people in CA are not only NOT getting their tax refunds, they are not getting a definite time date on when they will get their tax refunds & they are not getting interest on their refunds. Two years ago I messed up on my taxes (yes, I do them myself) & I thought I was entitled to a $300 refund (which I got) but it turned out, on further review by the IRS, that I actually owed them $300 — so I had to pay back the $300 I got, plus the $300 I owed — all with penalties & interest! I bet they wouldn’t have taken an IOU from me!
I should have known I messed up — I never get that “big” of a refund — I always either owe a couple of hundred bucks or get back about $100 — that is the best way to do it — that way the government doesn’t have much of your money as an interest free loan or you don’t have to come up with a big chunk of change all at once. This year I’m getting back $224 from the Feds & I owe the state $124 — thus the government only had $100 of my money interest free. I am very happy I finally struck the “almost perfect” balance (perfect would be owe $0 & get back $0 — but I’m good with the $100)
I know! If I were in Congress and Obama told me to take something out of a bill, I’d sent over a copy of teh Constitution with a note: “Read me.”
And I think we should all send notes to teh IRS “I’m opting out this year, bill me when I owe $34,000”
Erica — yeah, everyone seems to have forgotten his “tough stance against Bushes EOs” haven’t they? I don’t know if I qualify as being on the “left” anymore, still valuing such passe ideas like “one person, one vote” and no-warrentless wiretaps, but I for one am disgusted by his Imperial Presidency & I know Heidi Li is with me (although she has probably been kicked out of the left too — I say, I’m in good company).
and let us not forget that biased reporting on the EOs he has signed — like all the msm reporting that Obama signed an EO “ordering the closure of gitmo” when he did NO SUCH THING. The EO suspends military tribunals for 90 days (already getting dissent from judges, etc. as ultimately slowing things down needlessly) & ordering an “investigation on ways to close gitmo” That “investigation” could, literally, take forever. Obama’s excuse? “Closing gitmo is a lot harder than anyone realized.” Oh really, Mr. Ready on Day One? That isn’t what you said before (not that anyone but me is calling you on that sh!t). Shouldn’t you have already investigated it & had a plan? You were running for President of the United States of America, not dog catcher — and that was one of your BASIC PROMISES. Stupid morons who are WORMing it for him. I hope there is a hell just so they can all burn in it. (I know, I’ll probably be there too, but I’ll enjoy seeing them learn how full of sh!t they all were).
You can’t accusse him of hypocrisy, he touches himself and his sins are burned awyu. He touches Geitner and his sins are burned away. That’s one good thing about being the repository of truth and goodness, you don’t have to bother yourself with pesky integrity when you’ve got the short cut.
Seriously — no duh — there is NO line item veto for the President despite all of Obama’s rhetoric about “going through each piece of legislation line by line & removing all the pork, etc.” And no one cares — they let him say it as if it were so. Obama said it, it is, ergo, true.
“Closing gitmo is a lot harder than anyone realized.”
LOL I wish Mr. Policy Wonk could put things in laymen’s terms.
Yes, angie, but his supporters the overeducated dip*&^%$ don’t seem to care, do they?
Seriously — the overeducated dipsh!ts can all continue to have their Ogasms over the fact that the President “looks black” so it is all good.
Ok, Seriously — I’m going to bed. Good night.
Night Erica!
Night everyone else who is still here!!
Night Angie! Night all!
Night
