  6. hi afrocity — HerStory was great!

  7. See what happens? 🙂

  8. he he I am you alls #1 fan you know

  9. fuzzy — you would love us if we sat on there discussing bunions

  10. Thanks Angie!
    You were excellent.

  11. SOD — my bad — I admit — I printed it & I bet it is sitting right there on my desk (no printer at home) I will NEVER wait until the day of show to do that again!

  12. I wonder if anyone will WALTZ in?

  13. Note — at least I had the good sense to kind of STFU

  14. afrocity! LOL

  15. I will print out one each day (from the day you send it) & bring home a copy every night

  16. Great show!!

  17. Great show everyone.

  18. thanks invalid!! We appreciate that.

  19. only if they were bunions on Donna Brazille

  20. 🙂

  21. angie lol!

  22. SOD — but please do put that reminder for me — I am going to obsess on this — I left work late, had a hard day. blah, blah, blah. Mea culpa.

  23. angienc – LOL!

I was thinking, “You know, SOD didn’t tell us to print out the show order this time. Good for her!!!”

Sadly, SOD’s anality is funded in reality.

  24. Loved HERstory afrocity… it’s so great to learn about these women

  25. (waves at Three Wickets)

  26. madamab!! lol!!

  27. donna should be very uncomfortable tonight

  28. Can I tell you guys something funny?

My hubby listened to the show…from last week! He somehow clicked on the wrong thing.

Did I mention he works in IT too?

    LOLOLOLOL

  29. Thanks 3 Wickets

  30. (waves back)

  31. Margaret Chase Smith kicked a$$

  32. yeah SOD Pampers is looking for a new place to store his toxic bullshit….a tight sphincter is your only defense

  33. MB — LOL!
so what did he think of the old show?

  34. My cat (the one in my avatar) puked on my script

  35. afrocity!! lol…

  36. HeidiLi was wonderful, with her comments on women and (lack) of power in the superpower nations.

Naomi and O’Donnell…perfect choices!. When I read the O’Donnell post my blood boiled.

Thanks for the show to all.

  37. The show was great! I can’t believe it’s only the third one. You sounded so professional. Angie, you were terrific. I didn’t notice you didn’t have a script.

I loved listening to Margaret Chase Smith. I remember her well. What a character. She sounded like Kathryn Hepburn. Aftrocity, you were wonderful. I can’t wait for the African American women’s herstory.

  38. Madeline khan moment….sorry all

  39. I didn’t mean to leave out MadamaB, SOD and Regency. You were all so good. I love all your voices, and you sounded so natural and comfortable.

  40. aww, bb — have I told you lately that I love you? LOL

  41. Angie, scripts are over rated. Keeps you from being the real you. Though I’m not sure I picked out your voice.

Afrocity, loved hearing you for the first time. Tried leaving you another apology on another thread. But like eggshells around here. So I’m trying to be careful.

SOD, I think I know you.

  42. yes barbara jordan or my fav Shirley Chislom!

  43. Angie – He wanted my segment to be longer. He’s kind of a single-minded guy.

    “MORE WIFE!”

    😉

But seriously…I think he liked it.

  44. Back Bay Style — Thanks!!! We appreciate that!

  45. fuzzy> There are bunions on Donna Brazile’s lips and Obama’s ass – from all that interaction.

  46. madamab — well, that’s a good husband! LOL

  47. be careful angienc Myiq might get jealous when ever he returns from scary klown business

  48. Did everyone catch that?

  49. 3 Wickets — I was the one who introduced the wanker of the week.

  50. BB – so glad you liked the show!

    XOXOXOX

  51. EWWWWH! Icky icky Tah!

  52. While you were doing the show, we learned that Barack Obama is involved with James Dobson! And lots of other nutty preachers.

    http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2009/01/28/gimme-that-old-time-religion/#more-12441

  53. fuzzy — why would myiq be jealous –I missed something.

  54. It’s in outline form

  55. I love the definition of feminism: “I don’t wanna be treated like shit.”

R-E-S-P-E-C-T…and equal representation and the ERA!!!

    Women first, baby!

  56. call me old fashioned — but I don’t like this whole mixing state & religion business.

  57. bb, what fun!

  58. DYB-are you sure those arent warts on her lips and his tush-

  59. SOD,

It shows. And it’s really fun to listen to you.

  60. MB — That’s a great bumper sticker.

  61. My first time listening in. Terrific show – lively, great chemistry. Well done.

    Brad

  62. 3 Wickets — exactly — it is an outline — I’m the dang moderator & I’m supposed to KNOW the names of the segments — I had a total mind fart because I was panicking — I didn’t “need” the script in the begining because I knew madamab’s segment & then Heidi was on (and she could have her own show — no need to prompt her). But then, I looked for my outline for Naomi & it wasn’t there! the paper next to me was the Girl Scout group report!! LOL

  63. Thanks Brad

  64. angie said “aww, bb — have I told you lately that I love you? LOL”

actually Myiq would be turned on!

  65. I’m in moderation –who can free me?

  66. fuzzy — it is PLATONIC love!!! LOL

  67. thanks Brad! listen next week at 9:30 for our special 1 hour “Feminism & the Patriarchy” special.

  68. BB – Oh my fucking God.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Americans United for Separation of Church and State Executive Director Barry W. Lynn says of the Obama policy of having aides sit down frequently with religious groups. “It would only bother me if [Obama] starts implementing the policies of religious groups that are inconsistent with guarantees of the Constitution, and I haven’t seen that yet.”

You haven’t SEEN THAT YET, Mr. “Separation of Church and State”?

He’s only been President for 10 minutes. When you see it, it will be too LATE, you cowardly *ssh0le!!!

    (grinding teeth)

  69. Love it, SOD!!!

Are you gonna design it, or do you want me to?

  70. SOD — I love it! (the idea for the shirt)

  71. Angie bought 20 boxes of girlscout cookies -just doing my part!

besides the Girlscout organization doesnt’t discriminate based on sexual orientation like the Boy Scouts

  72. Angie — I called it Sex, Feminism and the Patriarch.

  73. fuzzybear – I love the Thin Mints. I crunch them while listening to Anna Russell!

    😉

  74. Can you do the “dictionary” look for the definition? I was just going to use the show logo for the front.

  75. SOD — sorry — still no script! LOL

    Sex, Feminism and the Patriarchy.

  76. I actually did know Naomi, socially, at one time in my life.

My wife told me yesterday a feminist in her definition is anyone who is able to treat a woman fully as a human being.

  77. Oh my goodness – I just saw Afrocity’s new avatar!

FINALLY I see her smile! It’s gawgeous!

    🙂

  78. SOD — do the show logo as an “emblem” over the left side (where the pocket would be)– like were the polo logo would go (but obviously bigger) but not the the whole front of the shirt. And the big definition on the back.

  79. sure SOD! I’ll send it to you tomorrow.

  80. Anna Russell!!! I frequently quote her: “I’m not making this up, you know!”

  81. 3 Wickets — got any dirt on her? If so, come sit next to me.

  82. Afro: I meant to tell you. Your Herstory segment is phenomenal. You never fail to interest me on that front.

  83. What a prize

  84. You haven’t SEEN THAT YET, Mr. “Separation of Church and State”?

He’s only been President for 10 minutes. When you see it, it will be too LATE, you cowardly *ssh0le!!!

    (grinding teeth)
    ***************
Mr. Lynn is another Kool-Aid zombie. Obama is expanding “Faith Based” programs and has two evangelicals and an RC running the program. With advisors like that, I don’t think reproductive health care issues are going to be getting a lot of funding from Obama.

  85. “And Erde comes out of the earth and sings “Weiche Wotan,” which means, ‘Beware, Wotan;’ and then proceeds to have fourteen children with him.”

    — Anna Russell on The Ring Cycle

  86. yea that was a very good show

  87. Feminist : fem-in-ist(noun) lat: 1) A woman/person who has desided she is tired of being treated like a piece of $hit. 2) An educated woman with tonnes of experience that still has to try twice as hare to get half as far as a man 3) A person that believes that it is only a mans world in the space between HIS two ears

  88. SHV — heck, he already threw poor women under the bus with his “imperial presidency”

  89. Madamab: Look no underwear!!!

Thanks RegencyG. Tell your mom I am sorry for the profanity.

“Feminists are just women who don’t want to be treated like shit.”

  90. SOD – that’s a great prize!

  91. afrocity – LOLOLOLOL

I have my quote for the back of the t-shirt.

  92. Women’s work is never done

  93. Afro: My mom doesn’t mind. We curse like soldiers caught in barbed wire.

  94. If you don’t want to be treated like shit then don’t vote for shit.

    😀

  95. Actually Angie, I think there needs to be a wanker’s hall of shame and O’Donnell can be the first inductee.

Favreau of course, has lifetime membership.

  96. fuzzy — funny!! But I would delete the word “educated” from the second definition.

  97. love the hin mints-put them in the freezer and the trefoils are great with a cold glass of choclate milke -hersheys dark chocolate syrup

  98. SOD — LMAO!! OMG — that should be a t-shirt too.

  99. we can be out own worst enemies

  100. This idiot Lynn is supposed to separate church and state, but it’s clear he’s joined the Church of Obama!

  101. Back Bay — we considered it but we don’t want those wanker’s pictures polluting up our site.

  102. I got to see her in pensacola’s historic Sanger Theater! Anna Russell…little did I know somewhere in that same theater was my future Love of my life Douglas!…whom I would not meet for 10 years….

  103. angienc2, on January 28th, 2009 at 11:30 pm Said:

    *********
What’s a few women in exchange for “bipartisanship”. Worked out well, 0 Rethugs voted for the stimulus mess.

  104. I get it SOD. What am I, angie?

    (ducks to avoid flying Manolo)

  105. Women need to band together

  106. madamab!! lolololol! sorry…won’t through my Manolos! I’d be afraid I’d scratch the leather!

  107. back bay — better yet — we name it the Jon Favreau Wanker of the Week Hall of Shame! LOL that’s pretty good — I’m coopting it for the show! (but we aren’t putting their pics up on our site)

  108. thanks for calling in, boogeyman! sorry we could only take one call tonight – Heidi Li was amazing but took a little longer than we thought!

  109. I was just trying to give some options, not actually tell you how to do it.

(would never tell madamab how to do it!!)

  110. 3 wickets I just saw your post. Are you apologizing for equating my likeness to that of a four legged animal?

  111. oooh – I like having the men in there. Men can totally be feminists, like OMIGOD, right, Naomi?

    😉

  112. Angie — I’m working on it

  113. SOD –or maybe:

Feminists (n.) 1. Women who don’t want to be treated like shit. 2. Men who don’t treat women like shit.

I don’t know — what do y’all think is better.

  114. My wife and I both started our lives in other countries where feminism is still a deep luxury.

Naomi, when I knew her, she was exactly as she seems today. Very intelligent woman who moved in the feminist circle of that time and that place. It is an exhilirating memory. She was also very ebullient, as she seems now.

  115. whaaaa? what happened with three wickets and afrocity?

  116. Pampers gets Zero respect form the house Rethuglicans…oh and they get what they want Obie should Nancy should reintor that womans health amendment as a stand alone bill

  117. madamab — sorry — I got lost for a second — what were you asking me when you wrote “what am I angie?”

  118. Feminist (n: fe-mi-nist): 1. A woman who refuses to be treated like shit; 2. A man who refuses to treat women like shit.

  119. SOD — oooh! how naming it “The Master Wanker Jon Favreau Wanker Wall of Shame”

  120. Feminists (n.) 1. Women who don’t want to be treated like shit. 2. Men who don’t want women to be treated like shit.
    ************
That’s it… anymore would be fluff.

  121. I was joking with SOD because she was over-explaining to me. Then, I ducked your flying Manolo because I was making fun of you.

    😉

  122. Yes…it’s amazing

  123. Pretty harsh afrocity for what is was, but I will accept it, and I’m on my knees again…no need to reply.

  124. Hi ppls!!!

fuzzy – watch it with the “rethuglican” comments… afrocity is one after all and a cherished participant here (as if she needs me to defend her)

  125. sorry late time for bed in the east coast-

    tht last should read:

should Nancy should reintroduce the womans health amendment as a stand alone bill?

to piss off Obie and the Rethuglicans

  126. MB — is over-explaining a differential diagnosis? 🙂

  127. madamab> Hahahahahaa, that’s a great one. Here’s another one:

“Well one day who should turn up but Siegmund, and he falls madly in love with Sieglinde, regardless of the fact that she’s married to Hunding, which is immoral, and she’s his own sister, which is illegal. But that’s the beauty of Grand Opera, you can do anything so long as you sing it. And after having given Hunding a Mickey Finn so that they won’t wake him up, they certainly do sing it!”

“Well Part 3 is devoted to the growing-up of Siegfried, the child of Siegmund and Sieglinde, and he’s very young, and he’s very handsome, and he’s very strong, and he’s very brave, and he’s very stupid…. He’s a regular Little Abner type. There’s not too much you need to know about this opera except that Wotan comes down and plays Twenty Questions with him…and Siegfried gets the Ring. …D’y’remember the Ring? Well he gets the Ring by killing Fafner, the giant…who’s turned into a dragon in this opera, don’t ask me why. Well then a little bird tells him, and he finds Brünnhilde on the fire-surrounded rock. Well now he’s never seen a woman before, so he doesn’t know what she is…but he soon finds out…and they go in for some very competitive singing—the type of thing “anything you can sing I can sing louder.” And… Oh, it’s terrific. I think probably she wins.

Well then they fall in love, and he gives her the Ring. She’s his aunt, by the way. But nonetheless, they are in love, and everything’s very happy and you’d think that would be the end of it wouldn’t you. No fear.”

    Here’s a full transcript:

    http://www.markelliswalker.net/music/albums/anna-russell-ring.html

  128. fuzzy – that would be great. I hope she does it. I cannot see her putting up with that crap for one second.

She must be tearing her hair out. “Why, oh WHY didn’t I support Hillary?! Maybe Universal Health Care wouldn’t have been that bad…”

  129. How about that?

  130. American Thinker

Obama is busy putting the chalk lines on Mount Rushmore for the chiselers to follow

  131. madamab!! LMAO — thanks for explaining it!! “who am I, angie?” — I see — I’m the one who needs it over explained. LOL Yes, yes, I deserve that — keep it coming to remind me (and SOD, keep over explaining it for me!! LOL!!!)

  132. SOD! DYB!

    (giggling uncontrollably)

  133. I love it Angie!

And MadamaB, didn’t the fourteen progeny lead to
Goetterdammerung? Guess they didn’t have funding for contraceptives.

  134. afrocity — what????? they haven’t started that project yet???

  135. SOD — oooh, Wanker in Chief — I like it.

  136. oh poop! Spammy got me!

    let me try again:

    SOD! DYB!

    (giggling uncontr0llably)

  137. no afrocity is a republican there is a difference Sarah Palin is a republican too like afrocity

  138. Have you all heard that Iceland now has a gay woman as the head of state?

  139. Thanks elderj. SHV just said Rethug too.

Next time I see it, I will start pulling out jokes about 9/11 deniers.

  140. Back Bay Style – Yes, it turns out that Wotan should have worn a condom. Who knew?

Angie – as long as we don’t put Obama in the voting pool with the rest of the wankers. Of course he would win by 10,000 votes!

  141. Obama transcends wankerism. He is post-wanker.

  142. bb– we’re soo behind everyone in the tolerance department {{{ sigh }}}

  143. Aw, my conservative sisters from Small Dead Animals and AT tried to call in to the show but they could not get through.

  144. (kicking off dazzzzzling print pumps and popping in before nodding off)

that’s it, ladies! no more missing this show! grand opening…OVER! corporate execs—back on the plane. back to normal schedule.

i’ve missed you all so much. congrats on what i know was a wonderful show!

hugs and kisses to my puma sisters

  145. afrocity — hardly anyone could get through — there was something wrong with the lines — we are lucky Heidi got through.

  146. afrocity – it’s a bad habit among us liberal types.

I pretty much stopped saying it after 5/31, but smack me if I backslide! (Although I was more prone to calling Republicans “Republics” because they always called the “Democratic Party” the “Democrat Party.”)

Anyway, thanks for listening everyone. I love my fellow Viewians – great show – and my fighting Conflucian family!

Love and peace to you all.

    Eeeevilllll Gen-Xer, MadamaB

  147. {{{ hugs for joaniebone }}}

  148. Hi Joaniebone!

  149. Night MB!!

  150. Nite MB!

  151. hi joanie!!

  152. ‘Night madamab!

  153. hi beauty-babes! i will be there, i promise. i am so glad you are doing them more often. you are so talented.

  154. Joanie, congratulations — I’m sure you were a huge hit and deserved major kudos for pulling off the opening.

  155. Just want to say that everytime BO does that hand on the shoulder gesture, which is a not so subtle way to establish dominance, I automatically tense up. Something in me recoils at it, and it shows me that he clearly seeks to dominate other people even while he spouts on about “listening.”

As a conservative, I’m glad the Repubs gave him no cover for what I believe is a horrible bill. I hope they remain uncharmed by his smarmy ingratiating behavior. If they do so, then the failure of his presidency can be laid squarely at the feet of Obamacrats and the Democratic Party can implode and be reborn, as well as the Republican Party which has abandoned its conservative roots in favor of corporatocracy. (end rant)

  156. night to all of you.

SOD, i’m having to fight the kiddies for the computer these days. you bet i’ll send ’em to bed.

    sending myself now………….

    g’nite nite owls xxxxoooo

  157. Night MB. And Night All…hate to miss the mirth, but I’m so tired I can’t even type.

Oh and BB.. I absolutely love the photo of Bill and Hillary!

  158. I love it too, BBS. Sleep well!

  159. night joanie!!

elderj — I agree 100% about the Obama shoulder thing.

  160. Night BBS!!

  161. thank you, prolix. you are too kind.
    (blowing a kiss)

    hey elderj… lookie here! (wink)

  162. Joanie, the scientists are tstill rying to figure out what “kind.”

  163. well joanie… 🙂

  164. did you hear the show elderj?

  165. I listened off and on…

  166. okee dokey…time for bed..

    Nite all!

After what the Bush/Cheney and the Republicans in Congress did to this country over the past eight years, the name fits. Unfortunately, a Democrat didn’t replace Bush.

  168. Night SOD!!

  169. prolix, send them over here. i have a few theories.

elderj? how frenly are you? very?

(going to bed before i get in trouble..)

    (for real)

  170. I don’t say Rethugs anymore unless I say Democrooks too.

  171. Night joanie for real.

  172. joanie – gnite

  173. Maybe elderj and I can do a Conservative PUMA show

and call it GOP- Grand old PUMA

  174. afrocity that’s funny….

angienc – when I saw that video of him with the reporters, I kept imagining that I would push his hand off me and then get tackled by the secret service. There are few things which raise my fighting instincts. That hand of dominance on the shoulder thing is one of them

  175. Uppity Woman has a picture of backtrack that will make you laugh.
After the post on No Quarter I need something to make me laugh

WOMEN WITH INTELLIGENCE AND EXPERIENCE,MEN WHO SUPPORT THEM AND COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS

    PUMAS,BUBBAS, AND THOSE PEOPLE RULE

  176. OMG — I just went to garychapelhill’s site (Electric Blues) — the new Prime Minister is not only a woman and a lesbian (which I knew) but she is unbelievably gorge!

  177. Helen — that picture is AWESOME!! Thanks for telling me — everybody get ye to uppity woman!

  178. I am tired. I will go to bed

  179. hi dose anyone have a info on that womens bill that berry tossed out of the “Stimulus Bill . i love to get more info about that . link? details
    thanks

  180. I’m beginning to understand better why Obama won and Hillary didn’t. Sleep tight…

  181. frenly – I have been saying that about the way Obama is always touching people since the beginning, and I always seem to get blank stares. Glad to see someone who see it as clearly as I do. It drives me crazy because it is disrespectful. I am also a person who cannot stand it when someone does, or tries to do it to me.

  182. boogie — go down to heidi’s post on the front page (two posts down from this one). She explains it all there.

She is 66 and her skin is unbelievable. Look at her neck and chest. I wonder if the Icelandic diet helps. They eat a lot of North Atlantic fish.

  184. angienc2, & firelight2012, thanks alot

  185. firelight– since you seem to be better at this internet thingy — do you know if the cram down provision was also taken out of the bill? I know Obama had wanted to do it, but people told me today that it was still in (but these were bk attorney/kool aid drinkers, so I don’t trust them)

  186. SHV — it is probably not only the diet but I bet they don’t get a lot of sun exposure in Iceland! LOL

  187. Fran

No blank stares from me….Obama’s arm touching thing has been offensive to me. He seemed to do it a lot to his opponents at the debates. I thought I noticed Obama even did it to W when he and Michelle met the Bushes for a White House tour shortly after the election.

I don’t really doubt he set the tone for many of his followers.

  188. And given the climate, they are cryogenically frozen at an early age.

  189. Yes, he did do it to Bush at that meeting/tour. I really noticed it. He does it to everyone. It is not appropriate for a junior senator to do it to senior senators, etc. He was still only a junior senator when he made his ‘victory’ return visit from the campaign.

    “…better at this internet thingy…”

I don’t think so! Referring to Heidi’s post seems like it was a better response.

    Do you mean this?

    Here’s a link from today..

    http://www.cutimes.com/News/2009/1/Pages/House-Panel-Approves-Mortgage-CramDown-Measure.aspx

House Judiciary Committee approved cram down but it was not included in the stimulus bill…cram down may be included in a later bill?

  195. Hold up, the Obamas had a private chef in CHICAGO?

Um….okay. So much for teh idiot Obots and ther cries of “we finally have a President who’s just like us!”

  196. House Judiciary Committee approved cram down but it was not included in the stimulus bill…cram down may be included in a later bill?
    **************
Obama blocked it. He didn’t want to antagonize the Repubs., none of whom voted for the bill anyway.

  197. I guess he served arugula and waffles. Maybe he was borrowed from Oprah – she has a private chef.

  198. I don’t know how anyone thought that the Obama’s were “one of us.” They are the epitome of the stereotypical limousine liberal (no offense to liberals or limousines)

  199. Fran – when someone does that to me, I literally feel my muscles tense up and have to resist the urge to bat their hand away

  200. God/Goddess/Higher Being bless you firelight! The Dems. wanted the cram down in the first stimulus package but Obama (the nominee) put the kabash on it. He said then that because of the “emergency nature of the bill the cram down didn’t need to be in it — it could be dealt with later in another bill.” Well, it is later — months later — and he is giving the SAME excuse again. This really, really ticks me off — helping the “little guy” keep his home (no matter what you may think of him for *perhaps* buying more house than he could afford) is more important to helping the economy rebound than anything else in that bill. Plus, it is the only FAIR thing to do — why do the fat cats get to keep their $ but not the little guy?
Trust me — the cram down provision was left out of the alleged bk “reform” in 2005 because of the big $$ from Wall Street (and VP Joe Biden played a big part in that horrible, horrible “reform” bill). No way is that cram down provision EVER getting through on Obama’s watch. It is disgusting.

  201. angienc – one of the reasons I’ve become more conservative over the years is that I simply don’t trust that the gov’t will do the right thing with our money. They spend it like drunken sailors on holiday usually to ill or no effect, and then when the sobering hangover comes, they’re back at the bar begging us to give them more money and promising that they’ll do better next time. I don’t tolerate such dysfunctional behavior in my personal life; I’m certainly not going to tolerate in politics.

  202. More good news for the little guy –

Wall Street Paid Out $18.4 Billion In Bonuses Last Year

  203. Serioualy, are they the first First Couple to have a prrexisting personal chef since the Guilded Age?

  205. Private chef? LoL

  206. I missed this today – Dick Armey goes off his meds:

“I’m so damn glad you can never be my wife because I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that prattle from you every day,” Armey told Walsh, editor-in-chief of Salon.com. “That’s what I’m talking about — she’s making a political malarkey here.”

“Boy…that makes two of us sir,” Walsh replied. “That was really an outstanding comment.”

“You’re talking like a paid political hack here,” Armey interjected, “trying to score political points.”

  207. elderj. the arugala thing was the capper, that’s not a clueless, out of touch elitist politician, that’s an SNL parody of a clueless, out of touch elitist politician. Zero political instincts.

Bush is a toucher, too. They know they can get away with it because no one is going to tell teh Prez, “Boundaries, you’re making me uncomfortable.”

  208. Seriously – the article was a blurp on Yahoo and it’s not up now, but the Kennedy’s might have had a chef – I’m not sure.

  209. seriously – Bush was a toucher too, but I never got the impression from him (as much as I didn’t like his policies) that he was anything other than sincere. Sincerely wrong perhaps, sincerely incompetent, sincerely stubborn, but nonetheless, he didn’t seem controlling in the way BO is. And he didn’t try to build a cult of personality around himself, or an aura of greatness.

BO is flatly manipulative and deceitful. After all this time, and how many people really know where he stands on anything? People knew what GWB stood for and hated him for it. No one can even say really what BO is about.

Unfortunately, there is no conservative Party in the US. After Reagan/Rollins/Atwater adopted the southern strategy, true conservatives were purged from the GOP. Bush/Cheney expanded the govt and bankrupted the economy. The Obama-Dems are no better. We are f*cked.

  211. Jmac — what did Joan Walsh say that Armey felt that was the appropriate response?

  222. elderj — me either — wordpress is funny

  223. It was on Tweety’s show. I haven’t looked for a link.

  224. frenly – Please correct me if I am wrong. Maybe it was a sort of racism on the part of people who voted for Obama. ‘Being Black, he must have come up from ‘poverty’ (and he tried to play that up). It would seem that the Clintons, Bill in particular, had to work harder. But they are White, so ‘they must have had privilege.’ It is sort of insulting, in a way. The funny thing is that many of my least racist friends were not for Obama.

Just thinking out loud here. Maybe this does not make sense.

frenly – I have been saying that about the way Obama is always touching people since the beginning, and I always seem to get blank stares. Glad to see someone who see it as clearly as I do. No one has ever told the ONE that it is inappropriate to touch (invade someone’s personal space) without permission.

I’ve watched him and he is using this deliberately as a message — and if anyone complains he is just waiting to yell — racist.

But it has nothing to do with racism — there are cultural/behavior norms and he is stepping over the line.

I did NOT like the way he put his hands on Hillary — I’ve seen the same damn male possessive crap from husbands who beat their wives — DOMINATE MACHO MALE.

But 0’s use is affected/phony and to send a message. Besides it is damned right creepy.

In his ROLE as the occupier of the white house — he should limit his contact to shaking hands. KEEP HIS G D hands off people and out of their personal space. In his case it is not to be friendly it is to DOMINATE that person.

Body language & Personal space — he violates OUR personal space by invading the space of others, in public.

  237. I tried to post the link — keeps going to spam — not even moderation! Search youtube for “Chris Matthews Joan Walsh Dick Armey”

  238. finally posted, and I haven’t the slightest idea which word triggered old Sp@mmy

  239. I’m in moderation — something I said?????????????????????

I wrote about the psychology of personal space and how the ONE violates this by touching.

  240. Note when Armey after Walsh says something “look, Chris” totally dismissing her — as if he isn’t going to bother addressing her — I have had male attorneys do that to me in meetings — I say something & the male attorney turn to my MALE co-counsel and say “Look Tom” as if I’m not worth addressing! I always say “I’m the one talking, address me.”

  241. Here’s the link. This is the short version, there is a 9 minute version as well.

  242. Would anyone be offended if I mocked Fox News?

  243. I do agree that Obama is a cypher and Bush is probably more sincere–though I’m not sure about controlling. Bush definitely gives off a vibe of “I’m he President, you will do as I say” imo. But it’s almost like Obama has a split personality, the encourages every delusion his supporters have about him, and then steps back and says, “Huh? I never pretended to be a liberal, you can’t hang that on me.” Disingenuous even if technically true.

  244. Never mind — I used the dreaded “r” word — TWICE — oh gasp!

  248. Northwest rain, elderj, et al — and lets not forget he is violating our LEGISLATURES space–it is not his job to “write” the legislation — that is the Congress’ job — his job (as the executive) is to enforce the legislation that Congress writes. 249. I’m trying to be considerate of afrocity, if she’s still awake.

  250. Seriously — LOL — are we really re duced to po ting like th is? LOL

Yep, Bush actually believed his bs — I think that is 2% less evil than Obama knowing his bs is only bs to “get elected” and expecting to get away with it.

Lord, I’m defending Bush. (shakes head)

  251. Seriously — first, she went to bed. second, she can take it. I don’t think we should censor ourselves. I only think we should refrain from personal attacks on each other. Attack Bill O all you want.

  252. I think afrocity went to bed…

I can’t explain it.. BO gives me the creeps. He is emotionally mani pulative and @busive

  253. Northwest – When he did that with Hillary, I felt like yelling ‘She is a Senator – senior to him – NOT your DATE!’

  254. elderj — yep, you summed him up quite nicely there:

BO gives me the creeps. He is emotionally mani pulative and @busive

  255. Okay, then, today Fox did their annual “ZOMG! Al Gore went to testify at a global warming hearing–in a raging blizzard!!!!! bwahhhaaaa” piece.

Seriously, Fox, that %$#% is OLD. Every single year you do this. We get it, it’s snowing, you are so NOT funny! Get a new schtick!

I find him creepy, too. There’s just something hollow or empty there. And teh little passive aggressive digs he and Michelle make to each other, I bet he’s hard to live with. I’ve heard Michelle and his mom were close, would loved to have been a fly on that wall. 🙂

  256. I hope this link works. It is another Under the Bus graphic.

  257. Seriously — no offense but after the build up, I was expecting more! LOL

  258. Fran –love that graphic!

  259. Seriously — but you know what? Eff Gore — first, he would have won in 2000 if he hadn’t listened to Donna B & “distanced himself from Clinton” (i.e., it would never have been that close that FL would have mattered). Know what that means? We would never have had Bush in the first place. And without Bush, there would have been no Obama. Second, he threw Hillary under the bus & came out for Obama after promising he would not endorse anyone. Eff him.

  260. Ok gang, I’m going to bed. Love you all. Good night.

  261. angienc – true — Gore was one of the few candidates ever to lose his home state (my home state) of Tennessee.

  262. I don’t watch Fox enough for it to be more! LOL I don’t wanna get of afrocity’s bad side, I spend most of my time here bashing Dems, but every time I mouth off about Republicans she’s here and I don’t want her to get mad at me. 😉

  263. Yeah, I don’t have much use for Gore, but still, I watch Fox only about once a year and every single time it happens to be the day when they do this, I’m not kidding when I say it’s an annual ritual, and it was old about 6 years ago.

  264. Fox is like all the rest – for entertainment value only. I like one headline they have today -Obama Has A Stimulus Cocktail Party.

And the Rangel bill -(not by Rangel) eliminating IRS penalties. If it’s good enough for our politicians, it’s good enough for us!

  266. Seriously – you feel better?

  267. ,

  268. boogieman,

For the women’s provision that Obama threw out, here is a cite from the Washington Post, quoted and linked at Heidi Li’s blog,
    http://tdg.typepad.com/heidi_lis_potpourri/2009/01/a-week-or-so-into-our-new-presidential-administration-and-the-strange-sensation-of-living-in-a-universe-that-only-partially.html

As the House version of the legislation came to the floor on Tuesday, Democrats stripped from it a provision that Republicans had ridiculed as having nothing to do with economic stimulus, one expanding federal Medicaid coverage of family planning services. (The Congressional Budget Officehad estimated that the provision would actually save the government $200 million over five years by reducing pregnancy and postnatal-care expenses.)

  269. morning all this is your wake up call!

  270. Northwest rain,

Another way you can listen to the shows is to call the number that is posted on the side. You can listen through your phone that way (if you have unlimited long distance, that is).

  271. Just listening to “The View from under..” now

    Great show!

    (who was that snorting ROFLMAO)

    CK-barf!
