So, Ted Cruz and his family were surrounded in a Washington, DC restaurant and left. Much hand wringing ensues about civility. It’s bullshit. If you could have only one rule for creating a good society it would be the following: Elites must experience the consequences of their behaviour. The simplest reason the US is a […]

Is this the hopey hopey change they told us about?

What a difference a day or two makes in D.C. Yesterday, Harry Reid and the Senate refused to seat Roland Burris because of the “taint” of being appointed by Rod Blagojevich.

Today, Roland Burris and Harry Reid are the best of friends.

burrisreid

Changing course, Senate Democrats emerged from a meeting with Senate appointee Roland Burris on Wednesday and set forth the legal steps under which they’re willing to welcome him into the Senate in President-elect Barack Obama’s vacated spot.

Praising the former state attorney general, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the Senate is awaiting a court ruling in a case that tests whether the signature of the Illinois secretary of state is needed for Burris to take the seat. He suggested that would be a step toward seating Burris.

“We don’t have a problem with him as an individual,” Reid said at a news conference in which he dramatically softened his party’s opposition to seating any appointee of embattled Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Yesterday, Senator Diane Feinstein was furious because Barack Obama named Leon Panetta, a man with no known relevant qualifications, to be CIA director without giving her a head up first. And in apparent reaction to this insult, Senator Feinstein announced she would support seating Roland Burris as junior Senator from Illinois.

Then President-elect Barack Obama “apologized profusely.”

Miracle of miracles, today Feinstein thinks the Panetta appointment is just ducky.

In an interview with CNN, Feinstein said she believes Panetta, a former congressman and Clinton White House chief of staff, will “surround himself with very qualified intelligence professionals in the top positions.”

She praised Panetta, whom she’s known for 20 years, as “smart” and “credible.”

“He will, as has been said, tell truth to power. Not what power wants to hear but should hear,” Feinstein said. “That’s probably the most fundamental part of all of this. That what many of us think happened with the Iraq NIE [National Intelligence Estimate] never happens again.”

Is this all one giant clusterf**&k of a snarled mess caused by an in inexperienced President-elect who doesn’t know his a$$ from his elbow?

No! Of course not. It shows that Barack Obama really does know how to bring everyone together. It’s the hopey hopey change we’ve all been waiting for! Don’t worry about a thing. Everything’s gonna be alright.

  1. The Obama Ministry of Truth is working overtime. Sadly, the Obots are only to happy to buy the snake oil. It is like they have “I’m an Idiot! Lie to Me!” tattooed on their foreheads.

loser, as usual: GO FUCK YOURSELF!

  3. I love that Marley tune.

  4. Hey bb — don’t let the bastards get you down! Remember — consider the source, consider the source, consider the source.

  5. Angie,

I almost got you the same compact. It was here in Chicag at Nordstroms but it was mini lip glosses from Bobbi Brown, I love it all. I am allergic to nuts so Mr. Afrocity will eat much of godiva and I will snack on the things that I can eat.

I looked up the stores in North Carolina and tried to get you things that you could not get there.

  6. faux boomer is projecting his fantasies unto others… again.

  7. Angie, it seems that our pathetic friend has serious gender identification issues…I would hate to be the family paying the psych. bills, the chances of this person having a happy life are close to nil.

  8. Sorry I missed the troll. I was otherwise occupied.

  9. Hi Sophie! Where is everyone else?

  10. Hi Ange.

BB: Another one to pick off at 11:13

  11. SHV & bb — as I said in the previous thread: When I was at a big firm in NOLA I represented (pro bono) a guy on death row in Angola prison for his federal habeas corpus appeals — little ole me had to go to Angola to consult with my client — nothing these sick little bastards say can intimidate or shock me. LOL

  12. He must be so proud.

  13. Why are the children up this late? Shouldn’t they be at home; alone, rightfully abandoned?

  14. wow you’re good. To quote B0 (and I only do that on special occasions), you’re a regular Annie Oakley.

  15. SOD — he is proud of these supporters — it is all he has plus, he encouraged this.

  16. It’s ridiculous

  17. Cinie: Their folks pop them in front of a monitor to keep them occupied…this is the fallout. Like I said…this generation was a failed sociological experiment.

  18. bb — don’t wear yourself out with these sociopaths — we can all tell the fake dakinikats/sods/angies & their misspellings & “insults” are hilarious!

  19. Cinie — these are the slow kidz that dropped out in 5th grade and eat Cheerios in their grandparents basement.

  20. Hmmmmm….I wonder if our pathetic friend is still lighting fires and wetting the bed at night? He is really revealing a very interesting psych. profile.

  21. SOD, why one hand? is it the finger up their nose or the thumb up their butts that’s got them handicapped?

  22. SOD — hate when we are right! bite your tongue — I love it! And the day these same asshats have to admit we are right is one I will relish!

  23. Cinie — no, it is the hand wrapped around their teeny little wee-wees that have them handicapped (they get off on debasing women, doncha know!)

  24. Cinie — you have to ask why one hand?

  25. GAgal (the real one – purplish splat with bright reddish/orange evil eyes) says:

OMG. That picture of Reid and Burris is just so fucking typical. Create a hugh muss and fuss one day then grin like cheshire cats the next. I’m fed up with every damn one of ’em.

I think something major is going on and once again this is a distraction. Obama is “concerned” about nothing. How long til Reid has to run again? Please don’t tell me four years.

  26. So….now that we have made our lovely guests comfortable in the spam filter, how did you like the post?

  27. SHV — if he also likes pulling the wings off of butterflies we better notify Quantico

  28. BB: Glad to see this post. The complete and utter lack of principle among all these folks gives new meaning to the phrase “honor among thieves”.
One think we know for sure: the r@ce card worked perfectly for Burris. Blago is to be admired for boxing in the Obamaphiles with their own tactics. Nevertheless, he needs to go to jail.

We have to remember that the President-elect is enjoying his honeymoon. This too shall pass.

  29. So Harry looks quite happy with Roland in that picture. About time, Harry!

BB: do you really think DiFi traded her Panetta outrage for Burris?

  30. It was actually really fun, when they were pretending to be Angie/SOD. It is fascinating how they target Angie. What is it about you that drives them so nuts Angie? I think they j*ck off to your avatar. I know it is because you are the best of us. Really Pretty, really smart, really funny, and always right!
    *gets on knees*
Angie, will you marry me? (I’m eighteen! *is legal*) 😀

  31. It’s a great post boomer! Thank You! {{hugs to boomer who is working extra hard as a moderator these days }}}

  32. Heidi, have you ever read I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe?

  33. Heidi Li,

Too bad Harry Reid couldn’t see the race card coming. The rest of us could see it hurtling toward him like an out-of-control mack truck as soon as Blagojevich leaked the name of his pick.

  35. Damn I thought my eyes were red. They’re green. It’s just a red spot between ’em. Pretty much how I feel these days tho.

  36. afrocity! NO! I didn’t know about the nuts! But now that you are saying it, I think I remember you saying it before! I am so so sorry — I purposefully got the gift basket that had nuts in them! AH! I will get you a replacement gift. Oh, I’m so, so sorry!

Yes, the Nordstroms here was having a sale on the Bobbi Brown “sets” which is why I grabbed 2 when I saw it (one for me, one for you! LOL) I’ve never seen Bobbi Brown on sale before — and I love that stuff too. See we are twins — except for the allergy thing — I will never forget that!

  37. Such close minded zipper heads.

  38. Sophie,

I don’t know. What do you think? I just think it’s funny to see them all reversing themselves from day to day. But of course they’re following Obama’s lead.

  39. It’s a great post boomer! Thank You! {{hugs to boomer who is working extra hard as a moderator these days }}}

    !!! I totally agree!

  40. BB: I don’t know how Harry got to be majority leader–he’s not very quick on his feet. As soon as the name Roland Burris came out of Blago’s mouth, Harry should have seen the future. All of us regular folk did and he’s so much smarter than we are.

I love you little isis! LMAO! Unfortunately, unless we are in MA or Vermont, I don’t think it *is* legal & the “great & progressive” Obama thinks it should stay that way!

  42. Obama is now happy with Burris. I wonder if Howie likes it under the bus?

  43. Actually, I sort of like Burris. He knew Blago caught Reid in a corner and he just sat back and watched while he got himslef a senate seat. And I think he will be a good Senator. He is an honorable public servant and it seems to me that he is a good man.

  46. SOD, to do what you suggest to oneself, you would think they had to like themselves. Since I can’t imagine they have that much self-esteem…

  47. Little Isis — in all seriousness, I think it really pisses them off that I don’t hide behind anonymity like they do.

  48. Cinie — they fantasize that they actually ARE human.

  49. You know Bob Marley can even make a corny song like “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” sound great.

  50. Little Isis — I like Burris too & I think it was a genius Kiss My Ass move by Blago (crook that he may be) — Obama got elected because of the Black Caucus — Reid was stupid enough to think he didn’t have to dance with the ones that brung’ em, but he got served.

  51. juvenile at 11:31.

  52. BB: The contortions are amusing. No one knows what the “right” thing to do is because very few of them stand for anything real. Their only principle is to get re-elected. They’re stuck in a bubble, a political Ponzi scheme. They have to keep getting more money from the same powerhouses and it seems like they never know what they will be asked to do on behalf of their benefactors. Hence the contortions. All this drive for power and they don’t really have any after all.

  53. SOD, don’t leave, grab some popcorn.

my prediction……Obama will be out in 2012 and Blago will be the candidate. did he just call the bluff of the entire democratic party? and it dodn’t cost him a cent either.

{I’m just kidding about Blago for president – I think)

  54. It’s a mystery to me

  55. Angie: It’s MA and CT. VT only has civil unions.

  56. Angie, you don’t have to get me anything else.
I am glad I did not get you the Bobbi Brown compact :-).

  57. I love you little isis! LMAO! Unfortunately, unless we are in MA or Vermont, I don’t think it *is* legal & the “great & progressive” Obama thinks it should stay that way!

Yeah, what a progressive Obama is. You know Chiron, form Elizabeth Joyce’s website? Well, she has spoken to a lot of people, and apparently it is an open secret in Chicago that Obama is on the DL. Same with Emanuel, though I think Obama may just be Bi…
apparently, Michelle almost left him because of the issues he apparently has with his sexuality. I find it both amusing and funny and tragic, because this is why Obama is avoiding gay issues like the plague. He is the worse type of homophobic…
    a self loathing one.
    *gods, I hate those!*
Sully sees a lot of himself in our Prez elect.
I think Michelle and Obie are so fake. And Michelle is so mean! I mean, she is just unpleasant! And stuck up and she takes this “I’m a huge victim” attitude even though she has had a wonderful life!

  58. clean up @ 11:33

Bless your heart, but we all know the only way you could satisfy a woman is by using your dog’s d*ck.

In the meantime, and as usual, GO FUCK YOURSELF.

  59. Let’s see: Feinstein gets snubbed by Obama – so she pokes him in the eye by saying that Panetta won’t cut it. Then she gets treated rather shabbily by Reid – who tells her to get over getting snubbed by Obama. So she gives Reid the finger by changing her previous position and defending Burris. Get over that Harry! Fast forward 24 hours – Burris gets seated, Panetta is fine and dandy. Where does this leave Feinstein exactly?

  60. Sophie — my bad! CT — I always think Vermont because of Dean — I don’t know why because he proved himself to be a fauxgressive this year too.

    ((((Angie)))))

oh, yeah, this whole Burris thing has actually been pretty hilarious. Especially since Harry Reid has now been revealed for the tool he really is. It is pretty hilarious.

  62. afrocity — well, I’m glad you like the Bobbi Brown. It is super sweet that you got me stuff I can’t get here — I confess, I got you stuff I like, thinking you would like it too!! I was pretty much right, though — our tastes seem to be similar (except for the nuts! — I’ll never get over it!) LOL

  63. Y’know, even if B0 never, ever had any real physical contact with another man, it’s pretty obvious the tendencies are there. I don’t think that is a bad thing. I think being a hypocrite about it is a bad thing.

  64. We need a higher class of tr0ll.

  65. OK all…it’s off to bed for me.

  66. Afrocity: I agree. The one the sent us is a pathetic third stringer and I think we deserve better.

  67. DYB:
Exactly where she was. An amazing Senator, and a super kewl chick. I love Feinstein. She is one of the *honest* folk in Congress.
Someone at TGW said that they hope she doesn’t run for Governor, because we’ll lose one of the last good senators we have.

  68. Night, SOD. Thank you for my “present.”

  69. Sophie:
Exactly. It’s the hypocracy that bugs me. I’m a fag hag, and believe me, he is the worse type.

  70. Little Isis — you are right about the self-loathing homosexuals being the worse — like that guy that was head of that big church out in Denver — I can *maybe* understand being in the closet because of your family etc (although not so much in this day & age — but I’m not gay myself, so I don’t know how it is) BUT why in the hell do some of these men have to go out publicly & vehemently condemning homosexuality when they know they are gay! It is mind-boggling — just shut up about it already, don’t draw attention to it!

  71. Night SOD!

  72. Night SOD!

    (((((SOD))))

  73. Thanks BB for posting this — you always capture the daily “art of the deal.”

This must be my chemical imbalance talking, but Blago is just great theater. It’s like Ira Levin wrote a main character who balances a pet capybara on his head and outsmarts the Keystone Cops.

  74. We have 4 years ahead of us that these morons fiddle while we burn.
A real government would be working towards some kind of help to calm down the middle east.
A real package to help the American people during the upcoming economic problems.
Any body checking out Russia’s actions toward the Ukraine?

Axis Sally Pelosi and Lord HaHa Reid will do anything to avoid really doing something for Americans.
To them the only important thing is how much can the officeholders get.

  75. Is this all one giant clusterf**&k of a snarled mess caused by an in inexperienced President-elect who doesn’t know his a$$ from his elbow?

That is exactly it bb. I was thinking about it today. Apparently, PEBO didn’t know the proper protocol for informing Feinstein ahead of time, and Emmanuel dropped the ball. Can you imagine HRC NOT knowing exactly how to maneuver without 300 advisers? She tried to tell everyone over and over again:

    DAY ONE.

He’s too busy working on his abs.

  76. everyone might already know this but I just read about a guy that got a link to go vote for wonkette and it took him to a ‘cloaking site’ which let’s u vote over and over as many times as u want

  77. Afrocity: you’ve got email.

  78. DYB — maybe Feinstein didn’t really care that much about the Panetta thing she just didn’t like not being consulted on it — so she used the opportunity to “show” them that she isn’t scared to call them on their bs — next time they will think twice before they underestimate her again.

  79. Thanks Prolix. I kind of like Blago too. He’s like a character in a hardboiled detective novel. He started out as boxer, became a bookmaker and then somehow got into legit politics and became governor of IL. He might have been President instead of Obama if it hadn’t been for Patrick Fitzgerald. Now all we need is a female detective or DA to work with Fitz to solve the crime while having a torrid romance.

  80. You know why everybody likes Blago? Its like 2 little kids fighting and one kid says, “Oh, no, Mommy, I didn’t hit my dear brother, I was sitting here doing my homework and reading the Bible when he just started bleeding from the eye…”
And the other kid says, “Yeah, I punched him, he stole your credit card.”

  81. Angie:
Exactly. You are talking about Ted Haggard, right? That was so ironic, it was also hilarious. I didn’t know if I wanted to laugh or cry about it. Especially because he was in that documentary Jesus camp… ugh…. that made my spine go cold.
It’s called being cowardly. I hate self loathing “in the closte” fags because it is so revealing about the spinelessness of their natures.
I’m a new age pagan/wiccan bisexual. My mother is an evangelical much like that crazy Becky Fisher chick, and my father is an accountant who barely speaks to me and cannot accept anyone being different. I say who I am because it IS who I am. There is nothing worse than living a lie. It one of the most despicable things a person can do, because they don’t get that if they lived in another time, an another part of the world, in another place, they might not have the opurrtunity to be proud of who they are and roll with it.
BTW, have you ever seen Jesus Camp Ang?

  82. bb — the think about all these pols condemning Blago is the hypocrisy — I bet anything that the ones who are screaming the loudest that Blago is “tainted” are the ones doing the same damn thing themselves — Heck, Teddy is publicly doing the same thing to Paterson with Hillary’s seat.

  83. Cinie,

That’s a brilliant analogy! And so true.

  84. BB, it would be a great “whodunit” with Burris coming out as a star saving the day. Maybe DiFi can be the female lead.

  85. BB, check your email.

  86. Angie,

You’re right. I don’t think I’m ever going to trust another politician again. It’s better to detach and just watch them perform.

  87. Cinie, perfect analogy.

  88. OT: I heard Gov. Paterson on the radio today. It was a clip of his appearance on Nightline last night re: HRC’s Senate Seat. I am more convinced by the day that these people are all corrupt and/or dumb and weak. Terry Moran said: “Let’s be honest–if her name wasn’t Kennedy, she wouldn’t be within a country mile of this position.”

Paterson immediately brought up HRC, saying when she wanted the seat, people didn’t want to give her a chance because she wasn’t from NY, and she was Bill’s wife. Let me stop there: HOW CAN ANYONE COMPARE HRC TO CK?! That’s either blatant ignorance or lies. Hillary had 30 years of in-depth public service experience AND had been a practicing attorney (voted one of the best in the country 2x BTW). She had also been in the White House for 8 years, and quite obviously, one of the president’s closest advisers. It’s just so disingenuous to make that comparison in any way.

Then he made it worse: “I will not be bullied or influenced. I WILL CHOOSE THE PERSON WHO WILL BE THE NEXT HILLARY CLINTON IN 8 YEARS.”

WTF does that even mean? He better damn well mean Kirsten Gillibrand, because I don’t care if they dress CK in Hillary’s pantsuits for 8 years–she will NEVER be the next HRC. She does not have the brilliance, passion, strength or dynamism. It’s not even close.

I’m so sick of being lied to & Paterson is my Governor.

  89. fif, don’t feel bad. Reid is my Senator.

  90. Exactly, Angie! No one f*cks with my girl Feinstien! (or my lady Angie)

Exactly! That’s why I like Blago too! He is foul mouthed and evil, but a character. He’s like Hades from the Hercules Disney Movie or Malfoy from harry Potter or Vegeta from Dragonballz. He is the villian you love to hate, because he puts on a damn good show.

Also, I think blago is holding out on resigning because he has a lot of dirt on other pols in illinois (the ones who are screaming the loudest, as Angie says), including obama. He wants to go out with a bang and write a best selling book on how he did it. I like his style.

  91. Wow Katie, I see what you mean! Our stats are through the roof, thanks to Wonkette. Let them win their silly prize. They’re only helping us.

  92. I’m sure Feinstein cared about Panetta since in her new position her duties somewhat overlap with his. And I’m sure she was pissed off about being disregarded the way she was. I’m just disappointed that she now suddenly thinks Panetta is right for the job – which I don’t and yesterday she didn’t either.

The day my mother outed me out of the closet was, hands down, the single worst day of my life. And the days and weeks that followed remain my worst as an adult. (Nevermind that it was the weekend before the election in 2000 – and we remember how that turned out.) I understand people being terrified of coming out of the closet, even in this day and age. I’m not sure much has changed from what things were like back in the day. But I also don’t understand closeted gay men who gay-bash. I mean, I understand that it’s their insecurities and irrational fears of being suspected of being gay that makes them overcompensate to an obscene degree. But I don’t understand why they don’t just barricade themselves in that closet and leave others be. But they don’t, from Ted Haggard to Larry Craig to Roy Cohn – history is littered with self-loathing gay men who go out of their to destroy the lives of other gay people.

  93. BB, (grinning) It’s a lot more fun when you look at the numbers, isn’t it?

  94. maybe Feinstein didn’t really care that much about the Panetta thing she just didn’t like not being consulted on it — so she used the opportunity to “show” them that she isn’t scared to call them on their bs — next time they will think twice before they underestimate her again.

Ange. One of her “friends” was reported as saying exactly that. Apparently, she takes protocol seriously, and they are giving the new kid on the block a lesson in power politics DC style. His head must be spinning. He had to apologize “profusely.” Who’s the b*tch now? He must feel cursed, running into strong women everywhere he turns. Even Reid declared today that he “doesn’t work for Obama.” Welcome to the Big Show! Of course, the usual collection of “critics” are accusing her of playing the “old politics” that the visionary BO wants to take us all beyond. Horse crap.

  95. Little Isis — Ted Haggard! That is who I was talking about — I couldn’t remember his name! Remember when he went to that retreat after he was caught & he came out afterward & said “the one thing I have learned is that I am not gay” I expected the rest of the sentence to be “I just like having sex with men.” I about died laughing and/or crying.

I haven’t seen Jesus Camp, but I did see “Saved!” if that counts. LOL

  96. I believe every bit of this Burris distraction (theatrics) is to avoid Obama taking a stronger stand on the ME conflict. Has he said anything more than “I’m concerned”? If the Burris situation hadn’t been taking up news space, other than the stimulus talk, what would they fill 24 hour coverage with? They all look like they’re just floundering and don’t know what the hell to do.

Don’t blame me I voted for Hillary.

  97. I am sorry if I was a downer but I just watched the video at No Quarter about the school in Gaza.

  99. Heidi,

    I replied to you!

  100. FIF: absolutely. I had an eruption about that very thing a few weeks ago. How DARE anyone compare Princess Caroline to HRC! The very notion of it makes my skin crawl!

And NO ONE can ever be HRC. Not Kristen Gillibrand or Molaney or Fran or anyone! My god. The thought of CK running for prez!

    *gags*

No more Mrs. Nice woman. I am sick of the Kennedys.

  101. MyIQ, it keeps us out of trouble.

  102. Cinie: at least I had Hillary for a while…

  103. isis: have you heard/seen her speak? She is incredibly boring. Good luck campaigning with that charisma and low energy. HRC can run circles around her.

  104. Fif — and don’t forget — Hillary got ELECTED by the people of NY — not appointed like CK wants to be.

  105. They are seating Burris because they have no legal recourse not to and they know they set a bad precedent if they don’t. Blago-1 Obot nation -0

  106. angie:

Didja ever see the video by Max Blumethal about the College Republicans?

They were all chickenhawks who were pro-war but too busy to go fight it themselves.

One guy talked about “praying the gay away” in a way that showed he’s a future men’s room riverdancer.

LOL

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! I know, i nearly pissed myself. It was hilarious!

OMG…. you have to see jesus camp. It is terrifying. here, I will give you a clip. You will be stunned. (actually, I wasn’t that stunned when I watched it because my mother hangs out with these loons)

  108. DYB,

Feinstein will get her pound of flesh from Obama and Panetta. And they’ll try to get her back. That’s how it works in politics. But she really won this battle. She humiliated Reid, Obama, and Panetta. They’ll hesitate before stabbing her in the back again.

I never heard you tell that story about your mom before. I’m sorry you had to go through that. But you’re right about self hating people (it’s not just gays believe me). They end up projecting all their hate on others or else it eats them up inside. That’s probably what is happening to our pathetic little troll. It’s so much better to be comfortable with who you are and like yourself.

  109. I was never good at keeping out of trouble.

But I’m fairly proficient at getting out of trouble.

  110. What no one took into consideration is that DiFi is outgoing Chair of Rules. Little known factoid, but the Chair of Rules is a big deal in the Senate — they run all the perks and bennies behind the scene that are important for the day-to-day life in the Senate. Right now she probably has more chits in the Senate than anyone else — she owns the place and could tell Reid to help Larry Craig go make potty and he would.

  111. myiq — I haven’t seen that video — but I will have to if you recommend it.

Little Isis — I’ve always meant to see Jesus Camp, but something kept interfering. I will definitely go out & get it.

isis: have you heard/seen her speak? She is incredibly boring. Good luck campaigning with that charisma and low energy. HRC can run circles around her.

I know. I always thought hillary was charasmatic and loved listening to her speak. Caroline is just… *barfs*
A psychic I follow named Elizabeth Joyce thinks that in 2012, three women are going to run for president, one is Sarah Palin, one is Caroline…

but she also thinks that Obama will not take the oath of office, or he will not finish his term due to some conflict. She thinks either resignation due to scandal or impeachment or assasination will be the cause, apparently. *shrugs*
I like her website, anyway. And she is a gifted lady.

  113. fif, OMG!

Paterson said: “I will not be bullied or influenced. I WILL CHOOSE THE PERSON WHO WILL BE THE NEXT HILLARY CLINTON IN 8 YEARS.”

He means the next “Hillary” to run for president in 8YEARS. That says to me what we’ve thought all along. He’ll appoint CK now to run for prez in 8YEARS.

  114. {{{DYB}}} I’m so sorry to hear that — like I said, I’m not gay so I try not to judge about “coming out” or not.

  115. angie:

I gave you alink to the highlights. watch it and you will be amazed.

Catching up upthread, and I came across this gem. LOL! No one does the smack down better than Angie!!

  117. What is frightening is that 8 years in the Senate would be 4 times the experience BZero has.

  118. GAgal: I can’t even go there. If that is their master plan, I will be done with politics, because it will be beyond all redemption. Frankly, she doesn’t have the wit or energy for it. Of course, we all know now that qualifications are irrelevant. Still, the Republicans will tear her apart, and who knows what condition the country will be in by then. Even the possibility is so nauseating.

  119. GAgal:

he could have just meant that he wants someone to be just as good of a Senator as Hillary has been, but obviously Princess Caroline thinks she is entitled to the White House.

    *barfs*

All I know is, unless something drastic happens that changes my mind, if the choice is between Sarah or Caroline, I go with Team Sarah.

  120. fif — glad you liked it! LOL

    Little Isis — thanks — I will!

  121. fif

    *agrees*

who knows. there may not even be a country left by then.

  122. Little Isis — me too — I am pledge here and now I will never cast a vote for CK.

  123. Fif — and don’t forget — Hillary got ELECTED by the people of NY — not appointed like CK wants to be.

Yea Ange, but they always leave that “insignificant” little fact out. The conservative upstate NYers were very skeptical of HRC because of her right-wing characterization, so she went to every county, and several more than once, and listened. She won them over, and then won reelection for her second term by 67%. She wasn’t handed anything.

  124. Little Isis — thanks — I will!

remember that song that the little kids were singing about Obama during the election that was so creepy? It is like that. It makes your soul want to weep.

  125. fif:
exactly. Caroline’s “listening tour” has been a huge joke. It makes me wish so much that Jackie O were still alive. She would put a stop to this!
But then, if Jackie were still alive, Hillary would be taking the oath of office on Jan 20th. Because she would have endorsed Hillary, and Teddy’s endorsement of Obie would have been seen for what it was.

  126. CK is as near to HRC as BO is to Abrahan Lincoln.

  127. They aren’t interested in her wit or her energy. The reason they want Caroline is $$$$$. They have even admitted as much. It’s just plain sad what our democracy has become.

  128. Regency, CK is black?

  129. With both Jackie O and Bobby Jr.’s endorsements, Hillary would have been set.

  132. I really wish Jackie O was around. She would have a lot to say about all this, I bet.

We’d have to be able to find it first. Anyone have a magnifying glass?

  139. This off-topic but I thought it interesting. It seems that the love affair of European media with O is showing cracks. His silence on the Middle E was unfavorably noted and I just came across a very frank article/column in a German mainstream newspaper which I would rather expect in a Puma blog. It is written by Leon de Winter, a well know nDutch writer who also lives in the US. Attached the link for those of you can read German (Madamab maybe Strauss et al will help) and for everybody else some highlights. This article is called: Is he just a very gifted opportunist?
Sorry it is a bit long!

    http://www.welt.de/welt_print/article2964174/Ist-er-nur-ein-begnadeter-Opportunist.html

    * A black is as president is clearly a historical moment and what this man qualified for the job was for the majority of Americans from limited relevance. He has the right flair, rhetoric and is a little bit black – just all a bit better then MAC.

    * He seems cultivated and pretended to be the Anti-Bush. Everything will change, hope is good, but elegantly ducked any questions what we should hope for -everybody had to find the answer for themselves.

    * Hi is black, but not too black – intelligent, cool a bit like Sidney Poitier in a movie

*The fascinating thing of Os campaign is that nothing negative seems to stick – Wright: he used it to give a speech abt race and racism which was full of cheap cliches but was considered historical by some

*Historic: often cited as a historic momen, people walk the moral highground when they voted for an unexperienced, unknown black over an experienced female/male. It seemed that color mattered as many American wanted to put behind them the shame of slavery and were willing to vote for a man with no governmental experience nor any specific achievements as senator, but who at least is a cultivated black

*Chicago:Obama started his political career in Chicago and that this was not his end is the most brilliant achievement of his political campaign given the political morass there. Obama is a product of the local polticians and he socialized with the political elite and left-radical circles (with ex-terrorist Ayers-radical chic). In Chicago people like Wright, Rezko, Ayers, Daley, Jones life in happy coexistence. O learned politics from E Jones and potical and racial injustice from Ayers and Wright.

*MSM: All this found little attention from the US media which created an image of O as an untouched political virgin which would be the savior, acting like an extention of his campaign team.

*Axelrod: Understanding O success means understanding the role of A. He already made Davel Partick the first black MA gov on a campaign of hope and change. Patrick had problems after his success to fill the empty phrases with content.

*Who is Obama: reading his books will increase the mystery rather than help. O’s CV shows unpleasant gaps and he refused to publish his work in Columbia and Harward as he fears they show his radical-left years. O minimizes his long friendships with Ayers, Wright and Khalidies (LATimes refuses to release video) Who is O? A neomarxist disguised as moderate politician as many of his C friends or a pragmatist who is seemingly putting together a centrist cabinet.

    * MSM: All these questions were not answer by the MSM which kept O out of the firing line and found it more interesting to discuss the cost of Palins wardrobe (150K) rather then the cost of the Greek columns (5mio)

*Left: Can the most leftist US president so far rule a conservative nation? Most Americans believe in a limited role of the state, while O seems to dream of a more Euro-socialistic model and the financial crisis seems to support this idea further.

*Lucky: O was lucky that the financial crisis came and he only needed to sayMCA=Bush. However, after the 20Jan Bush can no longer be blamed for everything and O needs to lead. For the second time in his life. The first time he managed a 150mio educational fund with Ayers and it ended in disaster – now he tries to rule the world!

Axelrod created an image of the savior – an illusion. The unacceptable fact for many is that O is a calculating opportunist. In next months will show cracks in his image.

  140. They aren’t interested in her wit or her energy.

CW: I know they aren’t, but she will have to run herself in the future, and Upstate NYers are a salty, pragmatic bunch. If she doesn’t get results, she will not win.

  143. Fake myiq: is this how you talk to your mother, your aunts, your grandmother? I’m sure they’re so proud of your “progressive” understanding. If you think you are a liberal with that woman-hating mouth you’re even dumber than you sound.

  144. Wow !

I’m impressed. In between watching Animal House and Caddyshack you took a government class. How “erudite”

  145. […] Nice Spin Filed under: Clark County, Harry reid, blogojevich, burris, nevada, republican, senate — mhlv @ 5:25 am Harry, great job of spinning this nonsense back into Illinois.   It’s unfortunate that Gov Blogo has played you to the fullest.  The L.A. Times and MSNBC have said you’re going to lose this battle, Diane Feinstein publically stated you are going to lose this issue.  What happens if the Illinois Supreme Court doesn’t rule, or decides this issue is a frivolous matter, and dismisses this matter.  The ball will be back in your court.  What will you do then?  Hypothetical, of course, I’m sure they’ll rule in favor of Burris.  This PUMA blog promises that:  https://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2009/01/07/is-this-the-hopey-hopey-change-they-told-us-about/#mor…. 146. really, fake myiq? his replacement has been named. why not resign and let his replacement start the session? Obama did it. does he need to look up democracy vs republic?

They are backing down becausde they know they would lose in a challenge. Rather then undergo a bloody battle they won’t win they are embracing Burris.

OMG, are you serious? I loved that ad like you wouldn’t believe! I bet Ann’s son is a Duesch. I doubt he had any concerns about what his mother would have thought. He was probably an Obot. *is disgusted* Maybe I can find it on youtube.
I loved that ad to pieces.

  157. It’s what I’ve been saying all along. This is another made-up distraction by Reid and the whole damn bunch (probably even Burris) to deflect from Obama’s failure to make a substantial statement about the ME conflict. It’s all a show.

  158. Night fif!
Yeah, why won’t anyone pretend to be me? I would have so much fun if they did. I am all ready having fun with weirdos trying to imitate Angie with Penis Envy.

  159. night fif!

  160. BB, this Burris issue is not about Obama. It is about Harry Reid and his ego. He stated he wouldn’t seat a Blogo appointee. On this one he’s being stubborn ala GWB, and he’s getting hammered. He has no choice but to back pedal and try to spin this to his advantage. Harry Reid didn’t even accept email until he was elected Senate Majority Leader in 2006. His website was pathetic. He does not understand how blogs like this can so easily call him on the carpet when Nevada’s papers, and newscasters, paint only a very rosy picture of Harry. You need to understand that he used to be the Gaming Commissioner, who could make or break any casino, more powerful than the Governor.

  161. darn….

I don’t know one way or another whether they are imitating me. I’m not the least bit sad or interested in in the matter either. I’ve got 4 children that apparently have better manners and behave in a more adult manner. One of the 4 kids is 9. When I say a nine year old trumps you in behavior then you ought to take a close look at yourself.
