The stupid is winning. Early last month, commissioners rejected McKenney’s proposal for a mask mandate. But as COVID-19 cases in the county and across the state surged and Kelly reiterated her call for a statewide policy, they agreed to consider a compromise. Most of the people who showed up for a public hearing opposed the mandate … Continue reading What’s t […]

A Wrench in the Kennedy Machine

Hillary is 44 is following the labyrinthine maze that is the Caroline Kennedy for Senate campaign in NY and has turned up some very interesting connections.  Like, does anyone know why Charles O’Byrne, Gov. Paterson’s former right hand man, resigned about a week before the November election?

Charles J. OByrne (Source- NY Times)

Charles J. O'Byrne (Source- NY Times)

And who recently paid O’Byrne’s enormous back tax fines and does he have to pay taxes on it, seeing as it’s sorta like income?  (Hint: the Smith branch of the Kennedy family makes an appearance)

Curiouser and curiouser…

Just go read it all.  As Lambert would say, it’s full of “linky goodness”.

One more thing:  Alegre says another possible candidate for Hillary’s seat is Leecia Eve, one of Hillary Clinton’s former advisors on Homeland Security.  She is quite an accomplished woman, seems to have the blessing of party stalwarts like Charles Rangel and she’s African-American. She tried to line up support for a shot at Lieutenant governor of NY in 2006 but was told to take an old cold tater and wait while Paterson was nominated instead.  Hmmm, I wonder if that’s a move that will pay off for her now?

  1. Sorry to be OT but I have to vent:
Have I mentioned lately how much I despise this good-for-nothing empty suit?

Just had to let y’all know.

  2. angienc – “Now Watch This Drive.”

    Bush III.

  3. Hat’s off to you and HIllary is 44.

At today’s CNN Headline News they are still making the pitch for CK: Their mini-crawl contains this information: Caroline Kennedy says she’s best for the job.

They are also peddling a story about a nation-wide poll claiming 52% say she’s up to the task.

  4. I am thoroughly enjoying watching Camelot crumble.

  5. Pamela – CBS was doing the same thing. However, they did point out that Princess Caroline’s numbers in New York were far worse – only 40% of New Yorkers support her bid.

If you haven’t already…sign the petition!

Appoint a Qualified Woman To Senator Clinton’s Seat

  6. angie, I saw the image of The One golfing, shown right after images of the destruction in the Middle East, while I was on the eliptical trainer at the gym. Not good for The One. Images are everything, as Turdblossom has taught us, and for The One to be filmed golfing while the Middle East explodes is a stunningly stupid move. I bet Axelrod’s head is exploding right now.

  7. janicen, it is a wonderful sight! It hasn’t even officially begun and we’re already off to a bang-up beginning.

Yesterday, shtuey introduced the endearment Commander Waffalo for our President Elect, so I think we should refer to his reign as Waffalot.

  8. Golfing as the Middle East burns. Hmmm…..brings back memories that he was bodysurfing in HI, while Georgia was being attacked. Looks more like Bush III everyday.

  9. Camelot=Camerot

  10. It could have been worse.

    Obama could have gone bowling.

  11. Angie,

His man-boobs show in that shirt he’s wearing in the photo! LOL! And the chicken legs look really bad. He needs to start bicycling like Bush II.

  12. Golfing while Middle East goes up in smoke. Surfing while Georgia is invaded (not without cause, but that’s a whole other discussion). Reading “My Pet Goat” while NY burns… Oh, wait that was the other one…

  13. Let’s send him a “bro.”

  14. DYB,

Don’t forget eating birthday cake with McCain while New Orleas drowns.

  15. OT: Blago is going to appoint the IL attorney general to the Senate.

  16. My Mother-In-Law wonders why Obama shaved his chest. That’s from his swimming suit photograph that was everywhere for a couple of days.

  17. plural: Lisa Madigan? Cool! Our % goes up to 18 in the Senate, at least temporarily.

  18. No. Sorry, former attorney general. Roland Burris.

  19. Ha ha. Politico says Blagajevich is going to name Obama’s successor today, and he’s AA. Will Harry Reid want to block the nominee now?

  20. Katiebird,

He probably does it so his man-boobs will look more attractive.

  21. (giggling) Very funny, BB!

  22. Ahh, shite, it’s not Madigan. It’s some old dude named Roland Burris. fuckity-fuck-fuck

  23. RD,

He was going to name Madigan, but that was before she tried to get the Illinois Supreme Court to throw him out of office. Now he’s picked a black guy instead–score one for Blago.

  24. Madigan is going to run for Governor. That’s why Blago was going to try to get rid of her.

  25. BB: I think he was going to appoint the highest bidder.
Madigan is supposed to be one of the up and coming possible presidential nominees. Whew! It’s a good thing she’ll have experience as a governor ‘cos that was a real sticking point for Clinton. Obama by virtue of his penis did not require governmental experience. So, by the time Madigan runs, she’ll have served in all three branches of government in some capacity. That should cover all of the bases.
Except they were all at a state level.

  26. But but this is my new job. I golf, you keep quiet and leave me alone.
What do you mean umh umh I should do something like make a statement aah aah or be planning a way to help stop the fighting?
Nobody told me umh umh I had to really do something aah aah when they gave me this job.
But but where is Hillary? Damn why isn’t she working her ass off to save mine?

I bet the TV director that put those stories back to back is catching some sh*t. It’s almost as bad as Bush41 playing golf and on split screen coffins were being unloaded at Dover from Golf War I.

  29. helenk, that’s the painful part, isn’t it? Hillary will be expect to work her a$$ off, like she always has. And Obama will only need to show up every once and while, read a speech off a teleprompter and look “presidential.” What a load of horse sh!t. I was expecting to be done with Bush in 2009.

  30. RD,

According to Willie Brown, who talked to Blago on the phone, Obama and Emanuel were upset because Blago was planning to appoint Madigan to the Senate seat. He wanted to get rid of the competition. Blago told Brown that Emanuel was apoplectic about it. Apparently, Emanuel wanted to get rid of HIS competition in the WH–Valerie Jarrett.

    Wheels within wheels.

  31. RD,

And don’t forget, Palin was a governor. A lot of good that did her.

  32. Hey, I just noticed we have new avatar thingies!

  33. Eww! My avatar looks like I’m p*ssed off or something!

    lol. Now he’s checkmated everybody.

  35. Would you prefer monsters, patterns or gravatar avatars?

  36. I liked the monsters best.

  37. Clowns

  38. I just posted a new thread on the Blagojevich appointment to the senate TBA in about two hours.

  39. I like the monsters, but these are OK too.

  40. Monsters are back. Thanks, RD 🙂

  41. Doesn’t anybody like clowns?

  42. Wow. I’m sure glad we’ve got these Washington outsiders coming to the White House. Things are really going to be different! (snark)

  43. gravatar for me, please.

  44. myiq: WordPress doesn’t do clowns.

  45. Anti-clownites!

  46. I’m posting to see what my new avatar looks like…

And to congratulate RD and all the wonderful writers here at the Confluence on the nomination for Best Liberal Blog. I’ll be sure to vote (early and often) when the polls open. 🙂

  47. The DNC appoints the President, Ted Kennedy picks the Senator for NY, and Blag picks the Senator for Illinois.

Is this how our new and improved hopey-changey government works? Screw the voters, they know whats best and we ladies just need to shut up and sing or knit or fix them some food or something.

  48. Either monsters or patterns. I just didn’t like looking angry.

  49. Thank ye!

  52. I’m not against all clowns, just homicidal ones.

  53. Yay, my royal blue Martian diva is back!!

  54. I like clowns, Myiq – we need to celebrate, RD! You steer a great ship here! 😉
