    • Week-end Wrap – Political Economy – September 27, 2020
      by Tony Wikrent Slouching toward denouement Capitulation Will Not Halt Trump’s Coup David Sirota, September 24, 2020 An important review of political events last week. Yoy may not agree with Sirota’s interpretation, but his analyses has proven correct repeatedly. Remember that Sirota accurately outlined the future course of American politics in his 2008 book […]

Pray for Louisa

Dear Conflucians and PUMAs.

I just received an email from Sheri Tag that Louisa, our sister Betty Jean’s daughter, has suffered a brain hemorrhage.  Betty Jean asks that we pray for Louisa. It is the only thing that will help Louisa now.

Psalm 139

1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD,
and abhor those who rise up against you?

22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

  1. I already was, RD. I am just so sorry. I’ll be praying for Louisa at a tridentine mass tonight as well. (Betty Jean and I were both raised on that). But now my heart is breaking and I have to go.

  2. She is in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. This family is going through untold agony and need our prayers.

  4. This is so horrible. Of course prayers are with her and all who are with her.

    It’s like one of those movies where you have tried to convince the authorities the guy is a whack job and no one listens.

  5. My prayers are with her. I will light a candle for her tomorrow at the San Francescan church here.

  6. I hope Louisa survives. Poor Betty Jean. She can’t loose two more children. It is not right or fair!

  7. I’m so sorry. These are the most dreadful trials for this family of courageous women, who are in my prayers and thoughst.

  8. That psalm is beautiful. Great choice, RD.

    😦

  9. I am so sorry and sick about this. My hopes are with this family and I truly wish the best outcome – Louisa whole and Denise in remission.

  10. Thanks, RD. Amen.

  11. Does anyone know who besides Louisa owns A Pond Place? I was thinking we might need a few pond supplies.

  12. The family is in my prayers and may they have peace and health.

  13. Sending prayers and love to Louisa and her family. It is unimaginable.

  14. love, love, love, prayers, prayers, prayers, love, prayers, hugs, love, shoulder rub, squeeze of the hand, love, love, tears, food, love, love, open ears to listen, prayers, love, love, oh dear, dear, Louisa we feel you

  15. I know I’m in Mars mode here. I just want to do something. There must be medical expenses, there must trial expenses. Who is running it besides her?

  16. Very thoughtful Psalm, Riverdaughter, and our deep prayers go out to Betty Jean, Louisa, Denise, and all the family. These are sad times.

  17. God bless Louisa and Betty Jean.

  18. I am praying for Louisa and Denise.

  19. I read all the details on BJ’s free us now blog. I can’t believe the judge only gave him three months for hitting a bedridden woman in the head with a hammer and assumed he would then just leave her and her family alone. Most men come out of jail angrier than they were when they went in.

  20. I recieved an email yesterday from our sister in liberty Betty Jean My heart is breaking for her. I am so stunned by disbelief that such horrible things still occurr-Betty know your daughter is in my prayers

    I know she has the hand of the creator on her his soveriegn will committed to protect her fragile soul. Betty I feel the spirit around you around your daughter…

    I cannot know the will of one source I know you are heard and your daughter is full of the spirits love.

    I pray she shall recover and be again the daughter you know and love, I know I am powerless before the One.
    I shall plead for your daughter in prayer….

    Love Michael Varvel

  21. I’ve been thinking of Louisa all day long. I’m so sorry to learn this news.

  22. My thoughts and prayers.

  23. one of my favorite psalms too ….sometimes I am totally ashamed to be a man…..this is to terrible

  24. I am unable to understand how that judge and law inforcement totally failed Betty Jean’s Family –

    Justice is blind they say sometimes I think it sees all to clearly….

  25. There are no words sufficient.

  26. I will pray for her, Remember as you quoted 139, verse 13, Louisa was knitted together in her mothers womb, So are millions of aborted babies. Will you pray for them?

  27. Not the time or place.

  28. Michelle, Are you going to also pray for the asshole who did this? Wasn’t he “knitted together” in his mother’s womb? Yeah, you probably will.

  29. I’m so very sorry.

  30. Michelle, I don’t think we have met. You should know that the bloggers on this site have a variety of opinions on the subject of abortion although most of us prefer us that it become safe, legal and very rare. Perhaps you’ll come back and search our archives on the subject some other time. At *this* time, we would prefer that you send positive thoughts to Louisa. Bringing up a sensitive subject like abortion at this time is inappropriate.

  31. My heart is so heavy after reading what happened. Prayers and wishes being sent. I will light a candle now.

  32. When I was seriously ill, I prayed this in my heart every moment of every day. May it provide as much peace to Louisa and her family as it did to me.

    Think about each line:

    The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
    He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
    He leadeth me beside the still waters.
    He restoreth my soul:
    He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.

    Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
    Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
    Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
    Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

    Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
    and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

  33. For Heaven’s sake!!!

    What does a prayer for Louisa, who literally got her brains blown out by some insane piece of DNA waste, have to do with abortion?

    This Michelle creature should be banned from this blog. This is the type of people who go to funerals to tease the people mourning with some political issue.

  34. Here is a link to Betty Jean’s scene in my film. For some reason, YouTube didn’t process it for widescreen, but no matter. I’m happy to make the footage available, gratis, for any scenario or effort that could, in any way, help this woman and her family.

  35. Wow, Brad, that’s pretty powerful. Thanks for sharing it. I don’t know if today would be a good time to put it on the front page though.

  36. I’m not sure what you mean about putting it on the front page. I wouldn’t presume to suggest doing so, and I wasn’t even sure I should post this link in here. But like I’ve said, the actual footage (which looks 500 times better) is available for any one or any group who can use it to help with this horrible situation. I know the footage isn’t “on point,” but it’s all I’ve got of Ms. Kling.

  37. I have been praying for the King family ever since reading the earlier thread. I’ll also ask our congregation to pray for them during this Sunday’s services.

    Anyone who would take advantage of this tragic situation to advance a political agenda is just as evil as the perpetrator of the crime against Louisa–maybe more so.

  38. Brad: no problem with posting.

  39. Sending healing ……….

  40. My thoughts and prayers are with Louisa, Betty Jean and the whole family.

    djmm

  41. {{{Betty Jean and Louisa}}}, mother and precious daughter.

    You are in our thoughts, hearts and prayers.

  42. We have amazing technology — we are a technologically advanded people — NOT.

    Some humans are still savage beasts — and these beasts should be separated from the rest of the population.

    My heart has been heavy all day — for Betty Jean’s family and for all the other victims of domestic violence.

    Yes it is well known that many of these beasts come out of prison to find ways to avenge. It is not at all unusual for these beasts to go to great lengths to kill or do more damage to the people they have already harmed. We KNOW this — the courts for goddess sake KNOW this. And yet these tragedies happen again and again and AGAIN.

    Slap the technology on these beasts — monitor them — whatever it takes to keep this from happening again. I really do NOT give a damned about the “rights” of the beasts — they forfeited ALL rights to be treated as a full human when they decided to use their primitive brain to become less than a slug.

  43. I just got back from Mass. My heart sank because I got there at the ablutions which meant I was like two minutes late for communion– I wanted to offer it for Louisa and Betty Jean’s family. But the priest gave me communion afterwards and I was able to offer it for the family.

  44. heartbreaking….
    she and her family are in my prayers

  45. I’m praying that Louisa will pull through. Words fail me about the heiniousness of the crime against her and her sister.

    May God grant that she come through alright, and that Betty Jean and her daughters are reunited in happiness.
